Mr. Chill is our gorgeous solid grey and white long haired handsome, young boy that is a miracle cat.  A vet that Critter Cavalry Rescue works with, called about Mr. Chill who was brought in to their clinic with a badly broken leg that required surgery and a pin in his leg.  The senior couple could not afford the surgery and they were going to euthanize this handsome boy.  Critter Cavalry Rescue paid the $1,000 bill to fix his leg and save his life.  He was worth it !!!!  His regular name was Cloudy but we nicknamed him Mr. Chill.  He has been healing so nicely and getting friendlier and snuggly the past 3 weeks since we picked him up from the vet’s office after surgery.  He greets his foster mom at the door in the morning, ready for her to pick him up and hold him over her shoulder.  He wants lots of head scratches, please!  He has started walking on all four legs now, but he still travels with a slight limp in his giddy-up.  Thankfully all the nerves in his paw seem to be intact and we marvel at what a trouper he has been!  As you can see from his good looks , he is also a gentleman and has been so tolerant of the other younger and more energetic kitten in the cat room of the house.  He has never hurt her; he hasn’t even growled to ask her to please quiet down and behave.  He just embraces the fun.  Mr. Chill is all that and more….such gentle boy.  He is  destined to become a lap cat, not because he has to, but because he wants to.  Purring is guaranteed with his adoption and at no extra charge!   Please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Say hello to Susie! This gorgeous senior girl is on her weight loss journey and is ready for a new forever home! Last year, Susie found herself at a veterinary office for euthanasia because her family couldn't handle her obesity and sanitary needs. The vet couldn't bear to put an overall healthy animal to sleep and reached out to Susie's foster family for help. Susie arrived at her foster home at a whopping 35 pounds! She is on a strict diet and has lost 10 pounds so far. Her adopter will have to assist her with her weight loss journey by feeding her a specific diet food and encouraging exercise. Susie is young at heart and loves teaser wands and string toys. She enjoys catnip, cat scratchers, and naps. Her favorite napping spot is anywhere in the warm sunshine! When she isn't napping, she is following her foster parents around the house - even to the bathroom! Susie is a GIANT cuddle bug! She enjoys snuggling up to her foster parents whether it be in bed or on the couch. She loves getting pets behind her ears and on her white chest. She will grab your hand softly so you don't stop petting her chest. She sometimes will boop your nose to get your attention and let you know she wants pets! Due to her weight, Susie is unable to properly groom herself which causes her to have sanitary issues. She needs to have her booty wiped or she can leave marks on her bed or blankets. Her foster parents find it helpful to shave her backside every so often. She is tolerant of it because she gets rewarded with a treat afterwards! Once Susie loses more weight, she will be able to groom herself better. Susie does not get along with other cats but she tolerates dogs. She would do best with older children or children who respect her space. Susie can get sassy if you touch her belly or tail area. Are you looking for a chunk, a chunk of burning love? Hi I’m Floki, I’m probably the coolest looking kitten you’ve ever seen! I have heterochromia, which means I have two different colored eyes, one blue and one green. I have long, mostly white fur with a black tail and one black spot on my right side. I was brought in from outside to enjoy the indoor life when I was about 8 weeks old and I’m still getting used to humans being all up in my business. I’m the bravest of my two siblings and have been the first to explore and get out of my comfort zone. I’m very food motivated and will allow you to pet me if you’re feeding me (especially treats). My foster family thinks I will eventually learn to love to cuddle once I’m 100% sure that I’m safe and in my forever home. I love to play and will do best in a home with another kitty to keep me company and expend energy with, but I need a home without kids or dogs. You’re probably wondering how such a dapper gentleman as myself came to be without a home. Well, I’m not quite sure how I ended up outside, but this nice lady in my foster parents’ rescue community was contacted when someone found me going from apartment to apartment, crying to be let in. My people promise I never have to worry about being alone and scared outside again, and boy am I glad to hear that! I love both wet and dry food. This sweet gal is Hunter aka Lulu. Lulu is a beautiful long haired cat, we promise. If you come to visit her you will see she is sporting a stylish lion cut due to some matting she had when entering the shelter. Lulu's fur does require frequent brushing. Lulu gets along with people of all ages, but in the shelter she is a little shy so she may take a few moments to warm up to you when you are visiting with her. She may be slightly older, but she still loves to play with wand toys. Lulu is a lap cat on her terms. Lulu has never lived with another pet and would prefer to be the one and only. Our veterinarians have determined that Lulu needs to have a dental procedure, so there will be an added cost to her adoption fee. We hope you will take a moment today to stop by and meet Lulu.

Vet Write-up: Giblet has FUS and an informational handout is provided for him. Stress may cause him to have issues urinating therefore minimizing stress for him is key. He has been at the shelter since February 2024, and he has managed well so far. He has never had to have a urinary catheter, so he is managing well on his own. He LOVES people and would do best with someone who would love a cat to brush, pet, and play with on a regular basis. He may do well with other cats, but test this first. We are unsure how he does with dogs. He is PEOPLE social for certain.
