Hi there! My name is Mittens and I am a 5 year old domestic medium hair available at the Santa Maria Campus. I would love a home where I can explore and tap into my wild side. I enjoy sunbathing and playing with my toys. I am curious and ready to check out my new world! I have asthma, but that doesn't stop me from living my best life and I would love to live it with you! Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Purrsephone is a delicate, spry little beauty with soft, long white fur touched by flame-point highlights and the sweetest face you’ve ever seen. Weighing just over 5 pounds, she’s petite and graceful — and to make life even easier, she barely sheds! This lovely girl enjoys gentle pets and calm companionship, though she’s not a big fan of being picked up. She’d much rather sit beside you or stretch out nearby while you give her soft scritches. Because she prefers her independence, a quieter home without young children would be the best fit for her. Purrsephone gets along well with other cats and would likely enjoy having a feline friend. She’s also met a dog and handled it well once she had a little time to adjust — a calm, cat-savvy dog would make a fine companion. She does have a cataract in her right eye, which the vet says doesn’t require any treatment. Her left eye sees perfectly, and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. Purrsephone is a gentle soul looking for a peaceful home where she can feel safe, adored, and appreciated for the sweet spirit she is. Meet Lucky Charm 🍀 Lucky Charm is a gentle, sweet, and low-key young mama who’s ready for a home of her own. Just under a year old, she came to us from San Bernardino with her five tiny kittens still nursing. She did an amazing job raising them, and all of her babies have been adopted—now it’s finally her turn. Lucky Charm can be shy with new people and may choose to hide at first, but given a little patience, she warms up quickly. Once she feels safe, she’s incredibly affectionate—her favorite move is climbing onto the back of the couch to give strong, enthusiastic head rubs (especially to her favorite person). She’s a former mama who’s remembering she’s still a kitten herself—silly, loving, and independent, all at once. Lucky Charm is chill and non-demanding, and would do well either with a friendly kitty buddy or as a solo cat. She’s respectful, easygoing, and happy just being near her people. With her beautiful tabby-on-white coat and floofy tail, Lucky Charm is as lovely on the outside as she is on the inside. Alice is such a sweet girl. She’s very calm and she does not like to get worked up! She doesn’t like to be picked up, but she loves to be right next to you. I know she wants to climb on my lap, but she’s been afraid to Dash. I’m not sure what happened to her in the past for this to have happened. I would not be looking for a home for her if I were not in desperate position. She does like to play and she likes some treats, but it’s not super food motivated. She’s just a great companion.
