Story
Hi, my name is Harlow. When you walk by my room in the shelter, you might not see me at first. You may think this is some awesome power of invisibility or a secret magic trick, but if you look a bit closer, you`ll eventually find me snuggled up in a pile of warm blankets. You see, my life up to this point hasn`t been the easiest. Life as a stray has tarnished my trust of people, so I am a bit shy now. Life under the blankets is a little easier for fearful cats like me! I am what people call a `spirit cat.` This means that I prefer the company of cats over people and that I may hide quite a bit. But, with time and patience, my trust will grow, and a beautiful friendship will bloom (even if it`s a friendship from 20 feet away).

Story
Hey there! The name is Honey, and if you`re looking for the coolest cat around, I might just be your guy. Once we`re friends, I`m sweet as can be -- provided you go nice and slow. Getting all touchy-feely from the jump is very rude, after all, and I`m not the biggest fan of getting grabbed or roughed up. It`s all about respect, got it? Great! Besides that, I think I`d love to have another feline companion. That`s negotiable, not a must, but lemme tell you, the second I see another cat, I prick my ears and start chirping up a storm. That said, we would have to be fed separately. I`m on this thing called `medication` and a `special prescription diet,` see -- whatever that means. I`ve just got a bit of a sensitive stomach, that`s all.If I sound like I might just be the right match for you, come on down to the shelter and meet me today!

Please contact Nancy Whelan (adoptionsakny@gmail.com), (518) 822-8643 for more information about this pet.Buckley is quite the personality. He is a very fun cat who is playful, curious, and kind. He came to us from a family in Albany who found him in their yard. At the time, he was malnourished and they spent two weeks feeding and caring for him outside. Buckley has now recovered and has adjusted well to his current environment. Buckly loves his head and chin scratched and looks forward to his interactions with staff and volunteers. He would do well in a home with other cats and children.October 16, 2025, 5:26 pm

Story
Rugby and Jenny are a deeply bonded pair who were recently surrendered back to our care after spending five years together in a loving home. Though their return was heartbreaking, these two have remained close and continue to comfort one another through the transition. When they arrived, both were in poor health. Jenny has made an amazing recovery and is now thriving, while Rugby is still receiving treatment for ongoing eye issues. Through it all, they've shown nothing but patience, resilience, and sweetness. Rugby and Jenny are calm, curious, and incredibly gentle cats who clearly adore one another. You’ll often find them curled up side by side or quietly exploring their surroundings together. Because of their close bond, they must be adopted as a pair—and they’ll bring twice the love to their future home. These two deserve a second chance at the comfort and care they once knew. If you’re looking for a devoted duo full of quiet affection, Rugby and Jenny are ready to steal your heart.August 15, 2025, 11:18 am

Story
🧶Lucy is adorable, playful, sometimes shy, and very gentle—like a kitten in a sweet 5-year-old body. She’s been the love of our lives. She snuggles with her brother but is uncomfortable with our older cat, so she may do best as an only cat or in a home with people around more, a steady routine, or even a mostly-outdoor/unique setup. 🐈‍⬛ Her challenge is occasional peeing outside the litter box. The vet believes it’s behavioral—loneliness, late meals, or territorial stress. She has her own box for pee, cleaned daily, and uses it, mostly reliably. She’s had a couple mild UTIs that respond well to meds, sometimes with a spot of blood, but further tests are costly. (Less than 1x/ year) 🐾She and her brother may feel more secure together; we’re open to rehoming them as a pair. We aren’t home as much now, and while she uses her box most of the time, the issue has become hard to manage. We adore her and hope she finds a home that fits her needs.
