Story
Special Needs- sweet Nikki Sweet Nikki was found as a stray by a wonderful friend (who has since passed away).  During her medical exam, it was discovered that Nikki has a significant cleft palate. However, she had already been spayed, and except for mild nasal discharge, was remarkably healthy! Our friend, because of her own declining health, had opted for euthanasia for Nikki, but was so happy when I said I would take care of her and try to find her a special home. Nikki is so very sweet, loving, calm, and petite. She tolerates my crazy dogs, and does well with my own cats and my many fosters.  Nikki is "special needs" because of her cleft palates.  She gets frequent sinus infections, which require antibiotics fairly frequently.  I currently keep Azithromycin on hand for her and fo a 3-5 day course as needed (per her DVMs instructions).   ##1866161##

Story
Meet Socks – The Big Guy with Big Personality (and a Bit of Sass) Say hello to Socks, a 1.5-year-old house panther with a whole lot of personality (and a little extra floof around the middle). He’s a BIG boy—solid, handsome, and maybe just a touch chunky—but that just means there’s more of him to love. Socks is playful, curious, and definitely has a mind of his own. He loves attention—when he’s ready for it—and don’t be surprised if he throws you a grumpy old man look or two while he decides. With his signature mean mug face, he’s got the perfect balance of “I run this place” energy and secretly sweet charm. Aloof at times and a little shy in new situations, Socks warms up on his own terms, but once you're in his circle, he’s loyal and affectionate (with a side of sass). Whether you’re looking for a solo sidekick or want to add him to your cat crew, Socks will do just fine—he gets along well with other cats and knows how to hold his own. And bonus: His brother Vern is also available! Sleek, long, and lean, Vern is the yin to Socks’ yang. Adopt one and gain a cool companion. Adopt both, and you’ve got a legendary duo. Come meet Socks—grump face and all. He just might be your perfect match. ##2057140##

Story
Both kittens are from the same litter and have grown up with 3 other adult cat. However they are very skittish around people, reason why is unknown. I have been trying to foster them for several months, but now due to having to move and leasing I can not take them with me. They are very playful and calm, just very timid and shy. They have been regularly treated for flees and are fully litter trained.

Story
My family recently found this cat a couple of weeks ago and was very malnourished and in very bad shape. We have worked hard to nurse him back to decent health but he is in desperate need of a loving and forever home. He is a very sweet and gentle cat and loves attention once he gets to know you. He can also be very shy at times and get scared easily as it seems he might have been abused at some point. He looks to be around a year old and we named him Smokey because if his gray and white pattern. My biggest fear is for him to go somewhere where he could starve, be abused/or mistreated, or be killed so my only ask and hope is that someone will take him and love him fully and take care of him as if he were a child. He deserves a loving home and I hope someone can help.

Story
Hi, I'm Olaf and I'm a cuddly boy. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org
