Story
Shale is a gentle, loving kitten with a heart as special as her personality. Sweet, social, and curious, she loves being close to her people. Whether she is curled up in your lap, napping nearby, or quietly observing what you are doing, Shale is happiest when she can be part of your day. She enjoys playtime in short, happy bursts and has a soft spot for crinkle balls, fuzzy stuffies, crumpled paper, and plastic bottle caps. After a round of play, she settles in for a nap on the top level of a cat tree, in a cozy cat bed, or stretched out in the sunshine on her catio. Perching by a window to watch the world go by is one of her favorite activities. Shale is affectionate and gentle. She enjoys being picked up and carried, loves being brushed, and will nudge your hand when she wants attention. If her request for pets is ignored, she may give the tiniest love nibbles as a reminder.  She can be a little shy right after a big transition such as moving to a new home, but once she settles in, she becomes very outgoing and confident. Shale is curious about other cats and has had positive interactions with cats she recognizes through screens or glass. With slow and thoughtful introductions, she could live with a calm and easygoing cat, but she would also do very well as a singleton and enjoy being the center of attention. Shale has a congenital heart defect that prevents her from safely undergoing surgery, so she is not spayed. She feels good and manages her condition with medication given twice a day. She is extremely easy to medicate and takes her medication very well, making her daily care routine very manageable. She travels well in a carrier and in the car and does great walking on a leash and harness. She uses scratching posts appropriately, allows nail trims, and is food motivated. She prefers dry food, grazes throughout the day, and uses both a water bowl and a fountain. She enjoys catnip and loves tall vertical scratching posts. Shale would do best in a calm, loving home with gentle and considerate people. She would likely do fine with older children who understand how to be respectful with cats.  If you are looking for a sweet, devoted companion who wants to stay close, share quiet moments, and be your little shadow, Shale is ready to find her forever home. Story
Payton is a handsome mackerel tabby that carries himself with the confidence of a young adventurer. This boy is a true morning greeter with a signature long meow that lets you know the day has officially begun. Payton is an enthusiastic conversationalist who happily narrates his needs whether he wants breakfast, pets, playtime, or just a little attention. He is affectionate, enjoys being brushed, and loves to be near his people. He can be picked up briefly and happily lounges or plays depending on what you are doing. Payton is playful, smart, and full of personality. He loves springs, strings, and anything he can chase down a hallway. He is confident in new places, well mannered, and fearless about hopping into a carrier. He cherishes soft beds for naps and enjoys soaking up sunshine when he has access to the outdoors. This sweet guy takes daily fluoxetine to help with mild anxiety and does well with it when hidden in food. He has a history of a urinary blockage so he will need to stay on his prescription urinary diet. He uses the litter box reliably but appreciates a clean one. He scratches on posts, tolerates nail trims, and prefers that his paws stay untouched. Payton would enjoy a home with another friendly cat and does well with adults and gentle children. He is social, easygoing, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. If you are looking for a confident, chatty, loving companion who brightens every day, Payton may be your perfect match. Story
This is Kylo, our medium-haired black cat that we are hoping to find a warm and loving home for. She is about 9 years old and is a small girl, weighing 9-10 lb. We adopted her back in 2019 from a co-worker who found her on the side of the road as a kitten in 2016. The co-worker decided to re-home her because he already had too many pets. Kylo is a shy cat and will need a patient and cat-experienced home while she adjusts to her new family. She would be ideal for a homebody. Her favorite activity will be being near her human when she's feeling good, and sitting on your lap while you pet her. She has a special diet, Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dry food. Kylo has been an indoor cat, but recently discovered her interest in the outdoors and likes to hang out in our backyard to hunt bugs and roll in the grass. She can be on a leash outside. We can include her toys/cat tree free of charge. We simply can not home her currently due to a newborn and human allergies, but we love her very much.
