Story
Carol is a unique cat with a queen mentality and a teenager`s attitude. She prefers to keep to herself, making minimal appearances and social effort. If she makes an appearance it`s probably because she`s hungry and is to be fed promptly. As the self-proclaimed inventor of the Resting Hiss Face, Carol exudes great confidence in her appearance. She knows she is a beautiful cat, but she requires you to compliment her anyways. Carol comes off being a bit passive aggressive and will stride through the house like she pays the bills, but she has a soft side too. Once she decides you are worthy of her presence, she will grant you with it. She is looking for a home with an owner that doesn`t mind her judging all of their questionable life choices. An owner that understands they may never be worthy of her attention but will still treat her like the queen she is. Here at the shelter, she enjoyed helping tiny stray kittens without a mom, she was an excellent foster mom! However, she does not possess the patience, nor does she want to share her space with actual children. A little cattitude shouldn`t stop her from finding the right home! We know there`s someone out there who will find her moody demeanor charming! If you think your home meets Carol`s high standards and expectations, please submit an application at www.cchswi.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Originally named Scarlett,(when he went to the vet we discovered "Scarlett" was a "Rhett" instead), was abandoned in a foreclosed house and left alone for weeks. The work crew who found him brought him to us, terrified and starving. He still understandably has trust issues with humans.  Rhett has been working on that issue, and has very positive relationships with our volunteers that he has grown up with at the shelter. He loves to pet, mostly on his tushy, but the more he trusts you the closer you can get to his head. He loves to be loved on, and the more attention you give him the more he comes around you the next time! He does startle easily if approached too quickly or if other cats begin to run or crowd around him. He likes other cats and allows his longer term friends to rub against him or even sit by his cubie but those trust issues are hard to work through sometimes for Rhett. We know in a home Rhett would be able feel safe and comfortable in no time. Again, he loves attention and does love people when they understand how he needs to be cared for.  If you feel like you might be that special person/family that Rhett has been waiting for a LONG time, please go to our website to start the process of adding this special cat to your life. Rhett is UTD on  vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.   You can find our online adoption application on our website littleorphans.org.  After your application is approved, a volunteer will contact you to arrange a private Meet & Greet with this gorgeous boy.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 14, 2024, 3:08 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Grommet came in a trap with another kitten, Wallace. Starving and cold, they both went into a foster home to get baths, treated for fleas, ear mites and worms, and fed lots of good food to get some meat on their little bones. Grommet is very shy. He is easily handled and snuggled when you can catch him in a bed or cubby hole in a cat tree. He wants to hide most of the time. He is so sweet and needs some extra TLC to help him trust humans. His long black hair, and white on his chest and belly make him a very handsome gent, indeed. His buddy Wallace was adopted, so he is kind of a loner at the building now.   He is not a fan of dogs. If you are that special someone who has time and patience to provide Grommet with the love he longs for, please complete our online adoption application at littleorphans.org to start the process of adding him to your home.  Adoption fees include spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative, and microchip. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 4:40 pm
