Story
Meet Ginja! This confident guy came to us all the way from the Sunshine Coast in hopes of finding his new furrever family. Ginja wasn't settling into the shelter environment so we placed him with a foster family. According to his fosters, he is very active and will require lots of playtime to appropriately expel his extra energy. Ginja is a very intelligent kitty cat and a great conversationalist. He loves hearing about your day. He might even be able to convince you that he understands what you are talking about - especially when it comes to food.It will be in Ginja's best interest to have lots of space and stimulation. While he is charming and friendly with people, he'd prefer to be in a home without any other animals. Ginja might be tolerant of older kids and teenagers who are respectful of animal's boundaries. You can submit an application for me online as I am currently in foster. cats:https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-vancouver/ Primary Color: Ginger Tabby Weight: 6.5 Age: 7yrs 9mths 3wks

Story
Ruby is a lovely girl awaiting her furrever home! Ruby is a quiet and calm girl, slow and a bit shy to start she warms up with lots of love and pets! Some observations from the foster: She still spends the majority of her time tucked away in her box but does seem more comfortable every day. She will even "chat" with me now when I pet her and she has the cutest little meows and chirps. She is really unique looking, very pretty colouring with a copper tint and such a sweet face. I think she will make a wonderful companion for someone with a bit of patience to let her settle in and get comfortable. As she came to us as a stray we are unsure how she would do with other pets, but we think a calm environment would be best suited for this sweet girl. She may do well with another calm cat who would embrace her shy nature. Please submit an application online if I am currently in foster or if you would like to save some time when you come visit. Story
Meet Monty! Monty came into our care after his owner was no longer able to provide for him. He is a big handsome boy with velvety grey fur and bright green eyes. Monty loves to find a nice warm cozy spot in front of his window where he can watch the world go by. He enjoys being around people but he can be unpredictable - he will need to go home with an owner who has a lot of experience with cats and understanding their language and reading their cues. Monty likes a little bit of touch but he can become over stimulated and sometimes redirects this energy onto hands. He will be the most successful in an adult only home without children or other animals. Will you be the one to give this kitty a chance? Come meet Monty today! Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. Cassidy has been doing well in foster. We have noticed that she is not too keen on wet food but is really enjoying her dry food. She loves following people around the house and getting attention so she would do really well in a home that is looking for that kind of affection. She's a really sweet girl that deserves a safe home environment that will be able to shower her with love. Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. Online applications will not be considered during this weekend event (April 27th and 28th). Priority will be given to people coming in during visiting hours.Tatum came to us back in January from a large scale animal intake. As you can imagine Tatum, and a lot of the other cats, were severely under socialized and very frightened of human interaction. We have spent a lot of time giving them slow and calm introductions to humans so they can slowly learn to trust us along with medication to help with their anxiety.Tatum told us that she would like to go into a home with calm and patient humans that know how to read cat body language. She is still very nervous but would eventually settle in to a forever home that is able to give her the love and patience she deserves. Tatum has lived with other cats so a slow introduction to any resident cat could be possible. She has a little buddy that she is currently housed with, Mary Moo, who also came from the same large scale animal intake. We have not bonded them but it is an option to adopt them out together. Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. Story
Say hello to our sweet little Midge!!There is something so special about this sweet little lady, we're not sure if it's her crooked little ear, her tiny stature, or just her overall personality - but we sure love Midge. Midge LOVES to play with toys, especially cat wands that she enjoys zooming around for. She enjoys having a room to herself here where she can lounge on her favourite scratch posts and watch birds from the window. Play and treats are the way to this girl's heart. She can be a bit sensitive about where and how long she is pet for, so she would prefer an adult only home. Once she knows and trusts you, Midge is much less sensitive to touch. Midge loves a snuggle and will sit on your lap, purring the day away! She loves to weave around your legs, chirp and chat to you, and drag around her favorite wand toy. She really enjoys a good chin scratch and especially some catnip - but beware, all bets are off when the catnip comes out, this girl is spicy when she's having fun! Midge does have special needs and is looking for a wonderful person who understands we all have our challenges - but that doesn't stop her from having a happy and great life! Midge can't wait to find her purrrfect human, and she's been looking for a while! Apply online or drop in to meet Midge from 12pm-3pm Tuesdays to Sundays. Please send an application to wvan@spca.bc.ca today if you would like to learn more! Story
Sweet little Welches G and his best friend Sunny D are here waiting to brighten up you life! Welches Grape Juice came in to SPCA care from a property with over 200 cats. This boy can't wait to find his forever home and experienced the spoiled life! Welches G is a little shy at first - which makes a lot of sense considering such a big change. But it takes no time at all for this little guy to warm up and start rolling around, drooling for pets. Welches G is a very affectionate boy, but he would like a quieter paced home to ease into his new life. Welches G would love to go to a home with with his friend Sunny D. He feels so much comfortable and playful with Sunny D around. Due to their prior exposure to Calicivirus, these two should not go into a home with an existing cat. Adopters should anticipate lots of play, toys, and of course a new cuddle buddy. Welches G has likely never been around dogs, and would need a slow/controlled introduction to any canine companions. If you are interested in these sweet guys but want to learn more, fill out an application online OR drop in Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm to say hi! Sunny D is here to brighten your day, and his friend Welches G to sweeten you up.This little ray of sunshine literally cannot wait to find his forever home, and he won't stop asking us when he's getting adopted! This boy is CHATTY, and loves to chirp and chat and tell you all about himself. He's an incredibly affectionate cat who was surrendered to us from a home up North with over 200 cats! Sunny D has a new lease on life and wants to go home already! This young boy is active, and his adoptive home should anticipate having lots of fun things for him to do to keep busy (toys, scratchers, interactive play). Sunny D would love to go to a home with his friend Welches G. Due to their prior exposure to Calicivirus, these cats shouldn't go into a home with existing cats. We are unsure if he has ever encountered a dog, so his comfort of living with a canine companion would have to be determined. These sweet tuxedo men can't wait to meet you! Drop in to meet Sunny D and Welches G from 12pm-3pm daily (except Mondays) or fill out an application online. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 4.2 Age: 1yrs 0mths 4wks

Story
Meet Nala! This beautiful girl is currently in foster, where she is warming up to her new environment. Nala was a little nervous the first couple nights in her foster home, but has blossomed into a curious orange kitty. Her foster mom says she is quite vocal and enjoys following her everywhere and bossing her about the house! Nala is 2 years old, curious and loves to receive affection, especially head scratches. Nala would do best in a quiet home and would benefit from slow introductions to her new environment while she gets comfortable. As Nala is in a temporary foster home, if you have space in your heart for this sweet, curious girl, please fill out an online application today to schedule a meeting! Story
Say Hello to Brisk! This adorable man came to us from a large scale animal intake in Northern BC. Sweet Brisk can be shy to begin with but quickly comes out of his shell for pets and tasty treats! If you're lucky enough, he'll roll around and show you his cute tummy in return for big head scritches! He is a playful boy and enjoys fishing with a cat wand or playing with a catnip mouse. Brisk came from a home with over 200 other kitties on the property. He would probably be happy living with most family dynamics, as long as he is getting all the love and attention he could possibly desire! Due to his prior exposure to Calicivirus, Sunny D will need to go to a home with no other cats. However, he can be adopted with another cat from his surrendered group. If you think you could offer a home to sweet Brisk, fill out an application online or visit him in shelter Tuesday-Sunday 12-3.
