Story
Elsie is a young female kitten with a tender heart and a very cautious view of the world. She is what we lovingly call a true Spirit Kitten — observant, sensitive, and slow to trust.Elsie is not the kind of kitten who will run up to greet guests or immediately curl into your lap. She’s more of a “look at me, don’t touch me (yet)” type of girl. Fast movements and big, looming adults can feel overwhelming to her.But here’s the special part — Elsie truly blossomed in her foster home with a cat-savvy 9-year-old girl. She actually felt more comfortable and confident with her than with the “big scary” adults in the home. Because of this, Elsie can absolutely go home with older, respectful children who understand how to move slowly, speak softly, and let her take the lead. What Elsie needs to succeed:A confident, outgoing resident cat (this is essential for her comfort and growth)A calm, predictable homeCat-experienced adopters with realistic expectationsOlder, respectful children who understand shy kittiesShe will not thrive as an only cat. A bold feline friend will help show her that home life is safe and that humans aren’t so intimidating. Our hope is that Elsie will continue to grow more confident and affectionate with her family over time. That said, we want to be honest — we can’t guarantee she’ll ever be a snuggly lap cat. She may always prefer affection on her own terms, and that’s okay.Think of Elsie as beautiful, living art — a quiet presence who will watch you from a cozy perch, exist peacefully in your space, and slowly, delicately build trust.Elsie isn’t for everyone. She’s for the family who finds joy in earning a shy kitten’s trust — especially one who may bond deeply with the gentle child who sees her for exactly who she is.Placement Options (was Elsie was in foster with Cersei and Wilfreda)Our goal is to set each kitten up for long-term success. The following placement options would be appropriate:Cersei and Wilfreda adopted together. Cersei’s confidence supports Wilfreda beautifully.Wilfreda adopted into a home with another confident resident cat. In this case, Cersei could be adopted separately.Cersei adopted with Elsie, as her confident personality would also benefit Elsie if Wilfreda is placed elsewhere. If both Elsie and Wilfreda are placed in homes with confident resident cats, Cersei would be adaptable enough to thrive in a variety of h
