Story
Got mice? You'll be happy to know we have several Rodent Control Technicians looking for work! They will work hard to keep the rodents away and all they will ask for is food, water, and a dry place to sleep! Currently, we have some cats that could qualify as either in-home, shy cats, or barn buddies. All 5 of the black and white guys are from the same home. The home had almost 30 cats!! Big Guy and Little Guy will allow pets sometimes, but we have not been able to touch the other 3. They are all young and between 8 months and 3 years old. Unfortunately, we are having some litter box issues in their room and do not know if it is one or a few of them. They are occupying a whole room right now and we really need that space for other cats so the sooner we can get them into a barn type home the better! These guys need to go in groups of 2, 3 or 5, so they have some companionship and someone to cuddle with in the winter months! Wynn and Reese are 6 months old and have been here since December waiting for warmer weather so they can finally have the freedom a barn type home will offer them. They were very spicy on arrival and have not warmed up to people. They have to go together and could go with a pair of the cats above if you would like more than 2 mousers. With warmer weather right around the corner, they will be able to go to their new barns, garages or whatever safe space you have soon!! To adopt a pair or more, visit our website spfldhumane.org, and fill out a Barn Buddy Application. Adoption Fees: $40 each All the barn buddies have been fixed, UTD on rabies and distemper. They are FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Shilow, a 2-year-old black cat, exudes a reserved demeanor, making her less suitable for cohabiting with other cats due to resource guarding tendencies. Preferring solitude, she typically keeps to herself but may emerge for occasional play sessions. When highly overstimulated, she tends to become more rough and prone to nipping. Therefore, she would thrive in a home with older children and a cat-savvy owner capable of providing one-on-one attention. It's not recommended for Shilow to live with dogs at this time.

Story
Buddy Boy, the 2-year-old male grey tabby, is accustomed to both indoor and outdoor living but thrives in a quiet, calm home environment. He's affectionate and prefers to be the sole pet, although his previous owners believed he might enjoy playing with an older, cat-savvy child. He's known to interact well with visitors and enjoys being pet, although he can be aloof at times, simply walking away when he's finished socializing. Buddy Boy has a particular fondness for mouse toys filled with catnip and dislikes loud noises. A handsome boy that hopes to be in his forever home real soon.

Story
Oreo, a 1-year-old male cat, was reared in a barn environment, accustomed solely to outdoor living. Despite his rustic upbringing, he's adapted reasonably well to our facility. Characterized as a reserved fellow, he tolerates a few gentle pets but prefers to maintain some distance from humans. While he's been exposed to older children and teenagers, he exhibits a preference for avoiding younger ones. With a background in rural living among livestock and the standard barn routine, Oreo excels in his role as a mouser and may find the greatest contentment in a setting reminiscent of his former environment.
