Story

From her foster mom...her story : Born around the end of October 2023, this lovely lady has been with me for almost a year. She was rescued from a field and lived briefly in a resident hotel room with an older lady that saved her from the woods but simply could not support her. She was initially very scared to be in my home, in the foster kitty room, but she quickly bonded with another CCR foster cat, Grey's Angel, that is close to her age. And they are still buddies! It mystifies me why they are both still here? Just look at Cookie’s beautiful black and white markings! You almost want to take a bite out of her! She certainly makes me crave my favorite cookies….Oreos! I started calling her Cookie, good Cookie, and it stuck. She is such a good Cookie. She has never been sick. She has never been aggressive. She has never been a demanding type of cat. She just sits back and chills. She watches me when I enter the foster room, patiently waiting for her turn for some loving. She immediately jumps up to the top shelf of the tower, to enable me to scratch her head. She rolls over to let me scratch her belly. She just wants and needs just a little attention. You barely hear a peep out of Cookie. She is happy watching the birds in the Crepe Myrtle trees, dreaming about one day catching them. Cookie and Grey's Angel have what I call “an old married couple’s” relationship! They are happy and grooming each other one moment, and walking in opposite directions the next! Then they will suddenly chase each other up the wall tower, to the top wall-shelf! That wall-shelf has become her favorite perch. Cookie just sits back and chills. It seems that her only stress for the day is picking where to nap! Relax and chill. Cookie will be a great cat for someone that wants a quiet companion. Do you have an older parent that could use a “subtle” companion? Or is that you? A cat that does not get too rowdy? A cat that does not scream for food? A cat that needs little attention? Lazy? Perhaps. Relaxed? Low maintenance? Definitely. Cookie has seldom been without another cat. She has always been with and tolerated many other fosters in the kitty room. But I question just how special she would become if she was the only cat in the house? She might become your shadow! Your best buddy! Your Good Cookie! Meet these sweet playful kittens! Our names are brothers Bandit and Inky and sisters Olive, Dora, and Bell We are the cutest kittens that love to play but also enjoy our time leisurely lounging around cat trees. This is a far cry from how our little lives started. We were surviving in a small dirty crawl space in apartment complex. But our fears disappeared when a Critter Calvary foster came rescues us from what was a dire situation. Some of our favorite toys are toy mice and balls, cat tunnels, wand toys, interactive toys, and don't forget the laser pointer. We love all the kitty treats, push up treats, brushing, and catnip our foster gives us. We really are love bugs and want to be adopted with one of our siblings. Do you know adopting 2 kittens is better than 1! We are too cute and quickly warm up with food, play and lots of pets , being held, and love. Inky is super sweet and loving. His black and white pattern fur is so soft and silky and cute half moustache. He is a gentle little man. He will lay in your lap and cuddle up. Zuri. The name means “beautiful”, “lovely”, “good”. They all apply here. Zuri is a stunning little kitten with classic black-and-white tuxedo markings, but with a few special twists that make her truly unique. Look closely and you’ll see faint tabby stripes at the tip of her tail, along with delicate white strands scattered throughout her black coat. Her fur was a bit thicker as an infant so I am certain she will have a luxurious coat later. Her face is a rich, deep black, beautifully framed by her white chin. Bright white whiskers highlight her gorgeous green eyes, giving her an expressive and elegant look. Plus, she has a good, gentle spirit. Just an all-around wonderful little kitten. Zuri and her siblings were rescued in December 2025, when they were 8-9 weeks old, during that bitter arctic blast! They had been confined to a wire crate in an unheated garage and were suffering from what initially appeared to be a typical upper respiratory infection. It was not typical. After weeks of careful treatment and dedication, they finally turned the corner. It was a challenging start for these little lives, but these resilient babies grew stronger every single day. After all that, this entire litter remained lovable and friendly, though they can be a bit hesitant and cautious at first. Once they understand they are safe and surrounded by love, their true playful, affectionate personalities shine. Zuri is the perfect balance of everything you could want in a kitten: playful and fun, sweet and cuddly, confident and independent. Dare we say… a perfect kitty? She has enjoyed learning how to “just play” and to just be a kitten. She and her sister Zaya love to chase each other, showing off some impressive wrestling skills along the way. But Zuri’s favorite toy just might be her crinkle ball. She can bat that thing clear across the kitten room! Recently she’s also become a big fan of the wand toy, often grabbing the whole wand and dragging it away so her siblings can chase her. It’s absolutely adorable.
