Meet Harrison!Who needs a gorgeous soft black panther who is eager to cuddle? At 9 months old, Harrison is ready for a family to call his own. He can be a little timid checking out new surroundings at first, but give this guy a few chin scratches...And he'll melt into your lap for ear rubs!Harrison is curious, smart, and loves long conversations with his favorite people. He started life on the streets where he was born to a feral momma kitty, but he has learned to appreciate a soft couch. He loves the company of other cats but might get over stimulated in a home with young children. To prove how much love Harrison has to give, just check out the big white heart he carries around on his tummy!*Our cats are looking for indoor only homes.*All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick prevention. Story
Trixx. By now so many people know his name! He's our litte guy who was stolen and missing for a torturous 48 hours. It's been a few days, and he's settled back into his foster home where he's been closely monitored after his traumatic incident. We're pleased to report he is doing well and is ready to resume his search for the absolute best home ever!Trixx originally survived the first several weeks of life outdoors. He somehow found his way to the front porch of one of our foster homes one night and happened to be spotted munching some food through the porch camera. They set traps and by the next night, much to his initial dismay, he was caught! In only a short time he learned what a wonderful, safe place the indoors can be. He grew chattier by the day and soaked up all the pettins and doled out all the purrs in response. ??Trixx has been through so much in his short little life and now deserves a life of safety and love!?? Special thank you to OKKat Photography for opening the studio this weekend just for Trixx to get us these amazing pics!*Our cats are looking for indoor only homes.*All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick prevention. Story
Meet London, a small girl with a big heart! At 3 months old, this little Torbie (Tabby with dilute tortoiseshell coloring) is quite a unique beauty. London can appear a bit shy at first, but give her a minute to warm up, and this kitty will be the cuddliest companion you could ask for! She loves her people and appreciates a good cuddle with a cat buddy, so she'll do best in a home where someone is home most of the day or where she'll have kitty siblings...Bonus points for a home with both!London is great with other cats and kids. She has not been around dogs in her foster home, but she's young enough that she could adjust to cat friendly dogs with proper introductions. She loves playing with laser pointers and crinkly balls, and her favorite thing in the whole world is puree treats. If you're ready to welcome a petite and snuggly friend into your home, London is waiting to meet you!*Our cats are looking for indoor only homes.*All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick prevention. Story
Meet Grackle! This young black cat has a lot to say - recurring topics include his open-door policy (he hates being confined to one room), how empty his food bowl is (after he's taken two bites), and how his toys must be available to play with at all hours (the ones with jingle bells seem to be his favorites). He will, to his credit, quickly adapt to your space and happily use scratching posts instead of your furniture. If you're patient with him, this two-year-old black kitty may eventually sit in your lap or give your hand big, happy headbutts. Interested in a house panther with cattitude? Grackle could be your boy!*Our cats are looking for indoor only homes.*All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick prevention. Story
Buttons is incredibly sweet, curious and loves to snuggle. He’s a pretty chill little guy. We live in a rural area and took Buttons in for his own safety because he is so tame, incredibly sweet, and trusting. No one locally has claimed him, and he is not microchipped. I had him neutered and up to date on all shots. Vet says he is about a year old. We have two older male cats who, unfortunately, are absolutely not receptive to Buttons at all. So I am having to keep him separated. Buttons needs a loving home where he will remain safely inside. He has done extremely well living in the house. He uses a litter box with no issues, does not scratch furniture, and loves to play with the basket of toys and in the cat tree. He would thrive with other cats with proper introduction. He wants so much to interact with my two cats, but they are just not having it. 😞 Buttons is a cuddle bug and would be a great companion with his calm demeanor and sweet personality.

Story
Zetta was a neighborhood stray when she became pregnant and was taken in by a kind hearted cat lover. Zetta had five kittens in the woman's spare bedroom and after she found a home for 2 of them, she called PAWS-OK for help with the other three and Zetta. Zetta is very calm and friendly but a bit shy at first. She hasn't been trusting humans for very long. This petite little girl was a very patient mom (as you can see in the video!) and is now looking for a home to call her own. PAWS-OK is a small foster based non profit rescue operating in the OKC area since 2008.  All our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, up-to-date on their vaccines, litterbox trained and fostered in a volunteers home.  We are committed to placing our rescues in the most loving homes that we can, regardless of how long it takes.  Our kittens are kept with their mothers for as long as possible and not offered for adoption until they are at least 16 weeks of age.  A handful of our available felines can be seen in the PetSmart Adoption Center in Rockwell Plaza (8357 N Rockwell) during normal store hours.   If you are interested in adopting a new cat from PAWS-OK  for your family, please go to our Adoption Request form at  https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form .  Your Request will be processed by a PAWS Volunteer who may reach out to you via email to clarify your information if needed. Processing normally takes 2-3 business days.  If your request is approved, an Adoption Counselor will contact you to set up a phone interview or a time to meet with them at our Adoption Center.  If we cannot help you, we may redirect you to other sources for a cat that may better fit your situation.  Thank you for looking at our available cats and kittens.  If you have any questions, please reach out for us at pawsokrescue@gmail.com.  July 18, 2024, 6:18 pm

Story
My name is Pip and I was born in a PAWS foster home on 4/9/22. My mom was a free roaming cat that had had a few litters in an area that wasn't very safe for kittens so her caretaker surrendered her, when she was pregnant with me) to PAWS-OK.  I am very independent and curious but also very active.  My foster mom says I really wanted to be a dog because I "bark" more than I "meow" - some people think I am upset when they hear me but it really gets your attention (which is what I want!).   I was adopted with my sister when I was about 6 months old and the very next day we both came back to PAWS-OK because we had "too much energy" for our new owners.  I don't care for carriers very much - I like big areas where I can stretch my legs and run and play.   I need a cat savvy home because I can be a little hard headed (like about going into a crate???) with a family who will love me for my bold attitude. Please fill out a Adoption Request Form if you are interested in adopting me! Story
Jelly Bean was adopted in 2015 with her sister, Cupcake to an older couple and returned to PAWS in January 2023 due to her owners illness. She is a little bit shy at first with new people and is currently 18 pounds. Jelly Bean could use an owner who understands portion control and the health benefits that "Bean" will see if she is able to shed a few pounds including being more active, more comfortable and easier to carry! She is on a portion control diet of 2 dry kibble only meals per day now in her foster home and has adjusted to it just fine. She would do best in a quiet home with no dogs and possibly as an only cat. She hasn't had a good reaction to other cats in her foster home despite being raised with her sister. Story
Hazel is a sweet adult kitty looking for a home where she is the only cat. PAWS-OK rescued her in the summer of 2021 with her litter of kittens from the MWC Shelter. She is a regular at our Meet & Greet events at A1 Pet Emporium due to her FIV status. She is very healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Hazel was tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV and is positive for the FIV virus. As such, exposure to other cats who are not also positive should be severely limited to prevent the spread of this immunodeficiency virus. Even though FIV+ cats can live very long happy, sickness free lives with proper and regular medical care, exposure to other cats who may carry other viruses can be problematic for Hazel whose immune response will become less effective, especially as Hazel ages. Fighting which includes deep penetrating bite wounds, may also transfer other cats to FIV. FIV is a species specific virus and not transferable to humans or canines. PAWS-OK recommends that cats with FIV live in homes as only cats or with cats that already have the virus. Hazel's FIV status can cause cat virus related ailments to manifest faster and be more severe that for cats who do not carry the virus so prompt veterinary care is required at the first sign of sickness.

Story
UPDATE 1/20/23 - Emmett has become a lot more comfortable in his foster home and allows his foster mom to pick him up for short times. However, he has been diagnosed with diabetes. He won't be available for adoption until we can stabilize his insulin dosage. He doesn't mind his twice daily injections at all! What a trooper! Emmett is a very sweet, shy boy who has had a hard life. He was rescued by another rescue when he was a young adult and had an operation on his back leg for a luxating patella. When he was placed in a foster home, a dog there attacked him and broke his leg. The vet wired it and he went to a different foster home where his foster mom adopted him. However she also had multiple dogs and so Emmett spent most of the next 7 years hiding under the bed during the day (when the dogs were around) only coming out at night to sleep with his favorite humans. In March, 2022 his dad suddenly passed and his mom was moved to a senior community so Emmett was relinquished to PAWS-OK to find him a new home. Emmett is a sweet boy who needs a quiet home with no dogs. It will take him a little to get adjusted but when he is comfortable he will make a great companion. He loves to be petted but is not fond of being picked up, either due to his multiple leg surgeries or because he was not handled a lot in his previous home. If you are interested in adopting a new cat from PAWS-OK  for your family, please go to our Adoption Request form at https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form.

Story
Stella is a meek and mild-mannered cat. She is a sweetheart that loves to cuddle and play hide-and-seek. In our home, she has been around two other cats, a toddler, and a large breed dog and never exhibited any problem behaviors. However, she is anxious, spends most of her time hiding from our other pets and child. She is very easily startled and stressed, has to be kept separate from our other pets and child in order to come out to eat, use the litter box, etc. We want to find her a new home where she can thrive! Ideally a patient kitty-lover that can calm her, give lots of pets, and keep her in a quiet home as the only pet if possible. Happy to answer any questions!
