Story
Yee haw! Hissin' Kate Barlow was once a rootin' tootin' feral kitten, but has since learned all about the good life of being a house cat! Her pink boopable nose and beautiful caramel swirls are just the tip of the iceberg. She's intelligent and playful, spending most of her free time zooming around with her sister and pouncing on toys. While it may take her a little longer to adjust to new people and new situations, once she does she will reward you with her silly, fun loving personality and a deep friendship. She will also keep you on your toes with her sass! Kate has completed several weeks of clicker training and knows tricks such as come, sit, up, and spin. She is looking for a cat-experienced, quiet home with no small children and preferably no dogs or a very calm dog. Her forever family will be taught clicker training in order to ensure she bonds well with them! If possible, she would love to stay with her sister, Bonnie Parker, who is her other half and partner in crime. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.allpawsrescueok.org. She is spayed, microchipped, negative for Felv/Fiv, vaccinated, and given flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $35.00

Story
Bonnie Parker is ready for her adoption debut! She was once a feral kitten living a very hard life on the streets, but she's spent the past months learning that house cat life isn't so bad. Her deep chocolate swirls and striking green eyes are as beautiful as her spirit. She's a true wallflower cat, preferring to spend her time perched up high where she can observe everything or hiding out in her box. When she zooms up her cat tree, she will chirp and enjoy booty scritches while making biscuits. Her trust can be difficult to earn and will require a patient, quiet family that is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust. She finds great courage from her sister, Hissin' Kate Barlow, and would really like to stay with her forever. Bonnie has completed several weeks of clicker training and knows tricks such as come, Boop, sit, and up. Clicker training 101 will be offered to her forever family in order to ensure she bonds and feels comfortable. Her ideal home is quiet, cat-experienced, with no small children and preferably no dogs or a very calm dog. She may not be a cuddle bug, but her love and loyalty is still just as true. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.allpawsrescueok.org. She is spayed, microchipped, negative for Felv/Fiv, vaccinated, and given flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $35.00

Story
Hi! My name is Gracie and I was abandoned, in a box, on the sidewalk in front of a PetSmart a few months ago. My previous owner couldn't care for me anymore and hoped that someone going into the store would pick me up. They even left some of my food with me. Luckily it was PAWS-OK who took me in and got me all ready to be adopted. I am a very active kitten and shouldn't be left alone too long or I might get into trouble. PAWS-OK is a small foster based non profit rescue operating in the OKC area since 2008.  All our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, up-to-date on their vaccines, litterbox trained and fostered in a volunteers home.  We are committed to placing our rescues in the most loving homes that we can, regardless of how long it takes.  Our kittens are kept with their mothers for as long as possible and not offered for adoption until they are at least 16 weeks of age.  A handful of our available felines can be seen in the PetSmart Adoption Center in Rockwell Plaza (8357 N Rockwell) during normal store hours.   If you are interested in adopting a new cat from PAWS-OK  for your family, please go to our Adoption Request form at  https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form .  Your Request will be processed by a PAWS Volunteer who may reach out to you via email to clarify your information if needed. Processing normally takes 2-3 business days.  If your request is approved, an Adoption Counselor will contact you to set up a phone interview or a time to meet with them at our Adoption Center.  If we cannot help you, we may redirect you to other sources for a cat that may better fit your situation.  Thank you for looking at our available cats and kittens.  If you have any questions, please reach out for us at pawsokrescue@gmail.com.  April 24, 2024, 3:58 pm

Story
Zetta was a neighborhood stray when she became pregnant and was taken in by a kind hearted cat lover. Zetta had five kittens in the woman's spare bedroom and after she found a home for 2 of them, she called PAWS-OK for help with the other three and Zetta. Zetta is very calm and friendly but a bit shy at first. She hasn't been trusting humans for very long. This petite little girl was a very patient mom (as you can see in the video!) and is now looking for a home to call her own. Story
My name is Pip and I was born in a PAWS foster home on 4/9/22. My mom was a free roaming cat that had had a few litters in an area that wasn't very safe for kittens so her caretaker surrendered her, when she was pregnant with me) to PAWS-OK.  I am very independent and curious but also very active.  My foster mom says I really wanted to be a dog because I "bark" more than I "meow" - some people think I am upset when they hear me but it really gets your attention (which is what I want!).   I was adopted with my sister when I was about 6 months old and the very next day we both came back to PAWS-OK because we had "too much energy" for our new owners.  I don't care for carriers very much - I like big areas where I can stretch my legs and run and play.   I need a cat savvy home because I can be a little hard headed (like about going into a crate???) with a family who will love me for my bold attitude. Please fill out a Adoption Request Form if you are interested in adopting me! Story
Jelly Bean was adopted in 2015 with her sister, Cupcake to an older couple and returned to PAWS in January 2023 due to her owners illness. She is a little bit shy at first with new people and is currently 18 pounds. Jelly Bean could use an owner who understands portion control and the health benefits that "Bean" will see if she is able to shed a few pounds including being more active, more comfortable and easier to carry! She is on a portion control diet of 2 dry kibble only meals per day now in her foster home and has adjusted to it just fine. She would do best in a quiet home with no dogs and possibly as an only cat. She hasn't had a good reaction to other cats in her foster home despite being raised with her sister.

Story
Hazel is a sweet adult kitty looking for a home where she is the only cat. PAWS-OK rescued her in the summer of 2021 with her litter of kittens from the MWC Shelter. She is a regular at our Meet & Greet events at A1 Pet Emporium due to her FIV status. She is very healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Hazel was tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV and is positive for the FIV virus. As such, exposure to other cats who are not also positive should be severely limited to prevent the spread of this immunodeficiency virus. Even though FIV+ cats can live very long happy, sickness free lives with proper and regular medical care, exposure to other cats who may carry other viruses can be problematic for Hazel whose immune response will become less effective, especially as Hazel ages. Fighting which includes deep penetrating bite wounds, may also transfer other cats to FIV. FIV is a species specific virus and not transferable to humans or canines. PAWS-OK recommends that cats with FIV live in homes as only cats or with cats that already have the virus. Hazel's FIV status can cause cat virus related ailments to manifest faster and be more severe that for cats who do not carry the virus so prompt veterinary care is required at the first sign of sickness.

Story
UPDATE 1/20/23 - Emmett has become a lot more comfortable in his foster home and allows his foster mom to pick him up for short times. However, he has been diagnosed with diabetes. He won't be available for adoption until we can stabilize his insulin dosage. He doesn't mind his twice daily injections at all! What a trooper! Emmett is a very sweet, shy boy who has had a hard life. He was rescued by another rescue when he was a young adult and had an operation on his back leg for a luxating patella. When he was placed in a foster home, a dog there attacked him and broke his leg. The vet wired it and he went to a different foster home where his foster mom adopted him. However she also had multiple dogs and so Emmett spent most of the next 7 years hiding under the bed during the day (when the dogs were around) only coming out at night to sleep with his favorite humans. In March, 2022 his dad suddenly passed and his mom was moved to a senior community so Emmett was relinquished to PAWS-OK to find him a new home. Emmett is a sweet boy who needs a quiet home with no dogs. It will take him a little to get adjusted but when he is comfortable he will make a great companion. He loves to be petted but is not fond of being picked up, either due to his multiple leg surgeries or because he was not handled a lot in his previous home. If you are interested in adopting a new cat from PAWS-OK  for your family, please go to our Adoption Request form at https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form.

Russ is a rescue and he is very sweet. He can also be very shy. He has the prettiest eyes and loves pets on his back. He is quiet and in no way aggressive but will need time to transition. I am only rehoming him because I need to move in with my dad and care for him and can’t bring cats with me. He likes to go outside for short amounts of time. He’s a good boy. :-) Free to a loving home.

Story
Brownie came to our door last winter when it was extremely cold. We have a large number of cats abandoned or dumped into our neighborhood. He's a very cuddly little man and likes to snuggle with humans or other cats. You can see in the picture that he seems to attract them. ♥ He also gets along with my dog, who is big and hyper. Brownie needs shots and neutering. I can't afford it on my disability income or it would've already been done. Unfortunately, we're already trying to find homes for several others who were abandoned in the cold as well. The adoption fee that we ask is for vaccinations and spaying/neutering of those that are left. We've also been covering vet bills and food for them all. It gets expensive.

Story
Molly is a very sweet loving kitty. Extremely affectionate, loves kids and adults alike. She’s house trained, but does go out occasionally. Great companion for a family, or a senior couple or single person. I just can’t keep up with costs anymore between food, veterinary care,(shots, etc.), and I’m too busy. Her adoption will include a litter box and litter, and a bag of food.
