Story
Valerie is a sweet girl who had a rough start in life. She was a young feral cat who found a nice lady to feed her outside and look out for her. She became pregnant and the lady called the rescue for help. We got her safe into foster and she gave birth one week later. She was able to nurse and care for her babies until they were ready for adoption. Then she was fixed and settled into a longer term foster home where she could be socialized with people. She was very skiddish and afraid of everything. Never aggressive, she would just freeze in place like a statue and hope you go away. It took a lot of one-on-one with her foster, but she finally came around. She learned that she loves to be pet and a good back scratching. She has been with a terrific bunch of cats in foster known as the trio. You couldnt ask for a better set of role-models. Observing the trio interact with people and each other has been very beneficial for Valerie. They are friendly, welcoming, gentle, and fun. At first Valerie wanted nothing to with them, mainly because she was just afraid of everything. She would stay as far away in her own area, while they played and had a ball. They always tried to befriend her and welcome her in, but she always remained independent of them and closely observed all their behaviors and games and routines. She began to show interest in toys and try playing with fuzzy mice and a spinning feather toy. She learned to relax and feel safe and let her guard down. Eventually she began to cohabitate very well with the trio. She still remains independent of them and has her own cat tree that everyone respects as hers, but she is no longer afraid of them, she will occasionally share a window seat with one of them. She watched the other cats get individual attention from their foster and finally decided she would like a turn. She created her own routine to let her foster know she is ready for pets. She goes on her cat tree and sits on her favorite perch watches everyone get their turn. She used to run away when it was her turn. Now she gives a look like, "don't forget me!". When you make that eye contact with her she knows she is understood and it has built her confidence tremendously to be able to communicate with the human. Then she flops over and rolls around with delight while you pet and scratch her for as long as you will. When you stop, she acts stunned and the look says "how dare you stop petting me". She has worked so hard to overcome her fears and form a sense of belonging. It's so great finally being able to pet her and her hair is extra soft like velvet. For a long time there was no sign of a personality in there, but now she has facial expressions, and purring, and the puppy dog eyes. I think she has come to enjoy the companionship of the trio, even if she doesn't join their group. So she doesn't have to be an only cat, but she would probably prefer to be. She has learned what she needed to from them and they have been glad to help her succeed. Now she's ready to bond with someone and learn what it means to have a home of her own. She will need a quiet home, one or two people, no kids or dogs. She is petite, and a pretty light silver color tabby.

Story
Luvbug is a special little fella who is wonderfully good-natured. He is a young boy 11 months old that was homeless. He caught a cold during the chilly rains and without proper care, he began to struggle out there on his own. A good samaritan who fed him regularly saw his need for medical attention and got him to a vet and into rescue for placement. He was easily treated with antibiotics for a quick and full recovery. We then had him fixed and fully vetted. He now has a clean bill of health and ready for adoption. He is a sweet, loving boy, very gentle, patient, and thankful for everything. We are told he was born outside and never had a real home, so it is incredible how trusting, friendly, and lovable he is - hence the name Luvbug. He's very well mannered with perfect litter box and grooming habits. His hair is softer than a bunny and he LOVES to be pet. He allows handling and has been very cooperative with the rescue process. He trusted strangers to help him when he was vulnerable and now he has the confidence to be himself and accept all the comforts of a real home. We are told he once had a sibling who went missing after the winter (as it's a tough survival out there and our hearts go out to him for his loss). Therefore, he would probably be a good friend for another cat his age who needs a nice companion. His personality is very mellow, calm, gentle and sweet. He could also do well as an only cat with someone who can shower him with all the love and attention he deserves. He is a great cat that will make someone very happy, so don't hesitate to inquire about this handsome, healthy young luvbug!

Story
Kenny & Loretta are bonded best friends who seem to complete one another. They were rescued from the same stomping grounds along with their other friends and have been in foster together. Of their little group, they are the most compatible with each other as playmates and companions. When they are apart, they go looking and calling for each other and would be sad if they were ever truly separated. We believe in preserving these special friendships and after careful observation, have committed to homing them as a pair. They are both very active and playful, and understand each other like 2 peas in a pod. They like to engage in wrestling, chasing, hide and seek, and many other games that they invent on their own together. They are very entertaining and the fun never stops. With that said, they are very well behaved and don't get in any trouble, but they are all about the zoomies and shenanigans. They will do best in a home with plenty of room to run and play. They especially love stairs and hallways where they can get a good headstart and go fast as a speeding bullet. Kenny is a fun boy and always the life of the party. He is very friendly, confident and lovable. He has no concept of personal space, always right there to greet you, swirling around your legs, and follows you around. He loves people, cats, toys, and any kind of action he can involve himself in. He is always the first to welcome and befriend newcomers in foster, and has been a great helper with socializing shy cats. He is extra playful and ready on demand but he also enjoys relaxing, looking out the window, and just hanging out as part of the family. He loves to be held and snuggled, and will patiently allow you to dote on him with nuzzling and hugging and hold him like a baby. He is full of character and a charming personality. He has been described as animated or cartoonish, because of his adorable face and thick fluffy coat. Our little Loretta is such a doll. She is a tiny, petite girl who seems like a kitten, and lights up a room with her adorable personality. She has a young, innocent quality that makes her extra precious and a sweetheart. She is somewhat cautious at first, but follows Kenny's lead. She is a friendly gal and warms up quickly to new people. She greets you with enthusiasm, comes when you call her, and loves to be pet. She purrs loudly when she is excited and while she's eating. She loves playing with her toys and her friends. She is smart and easily engaged, likes learning things, like a new toy to figure out or something cool to investigate. She loves other cats and makes friends easily by just being herself and letting them get to know her. She is gentle, polite and well mannered, knows how to fit herself in. Has a healthy self esteem that makes your heart smile. She is a tabby, white underneath, brown on top, a very rich shade of brown with some deep hues of auburn red tones, very beautiful. She has gorgeous green eyes and adorable pink button nose. You won't be disappointed with this fun-loving pair. They are both fixed and fully vetted, est about 2 yrs old.

Story
Landon & Jewel are a sweet pair of best friends who would love to stay together. Landon was very attached to his other friends until Jewel came along and swept him off his feet. He was quick to welcome her in and take her under his wing. They have been side by side ever since and she shows her appreciation by affectionately grooming him. Landon was getting a little lazy, but his new spark has made him more active and social. They enjoy playing together and are so cute to watch. Landon is sweet, gentle, loyal, and lovable. He loves to be pet, massaged, and brushed. He will stand in front of you waiting to be brushed, then turns around to make sure you can reach all sides. Eventually, he will just drop on his side and roll on his back purring. He loves other cats and is a very good friend. He is est about 2-3 years old. Jewel is a young gal, about 1 year old. She was born outside and wound up on her own. She survived the series of ice storms. We saw her coming and going, and made a point to bring her in and show her a better life. She was very happy to meet other cats in foster. They accepted her with open arms into their group and made her one of the gang. She is still a tad shy toward people, but has a natural youthful confidence that allows her to feel at ease. She is on the fast track to full bravery with a little help from her friends. Watching them interact with the human has reassured her that we're ok! She is very curious about people and has discovered if she paces back & forth in front of you she gets pet and likes it. She purrs and acts so happy about her own progress. She is still very kitten-ish, petite with a tiny young face, playful and fun-loving, very sweet, gentle, adorable. She is a real gem, how she got her name Jewel for the beauty she is. He shiny hair is jet black and extra silky soft. She is really just a baby starting her life and excited to learn. They will do best in a calm, quiet environment.

Story
Chico & Churro are a very bonded pair of brothers, about 9 months old. Chico is black & white. Churro is all black. They were found as young kittens on their own without a mom to protect them from the elements. They went through a lot together and their closeness is a symbol of their loyal affection for each other. Appropriately, we have them pictured as a heart shape. Together at all times whether napping or playing, you'll rarely see one without the other. They are also very inclusive and get along great with other cats too. Just really nice boys who love everyone. They will patiently wait for you to hit the couch or bedtime so they can snuggle with you too! Besides cuddling, they also love to play. A wand/string toy is their favorite and they enjoy playing video games on the phone or tablet. They are smart and engaged and enjoy learning new things. Their personalities are gentle and sweet. They are fixed and fully vetted, ready to start their lives in a loving home.
