Story
Hello there, I`m Lori, a 1-year-old brown tabby with a shy but curious spirit. My journey has been a bit challenging, as I came from a crowded home with many other cats. Because of my past, I`m still learning to trust and open up to people, and I need a special human who understands that building a bond with me will take time and patience.I tend to keep to myself at first, observing the world from a safe distance. It`s not that I don`t want to be part of your life; it`s just that I need some time to feel secure and comfortable in a new environment.I`m not a fan of too much handling right away, but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, I`m hopeful that I`ll start seeking out affection on my own terms.I need a calm, understanding home with someone experienced in caring for shy cats. An owner who can give me the space I need while slowly helping me come out of my shell will be ideal. Someone who appreciates the subtle milestones of a timid cat learning to trust will find joy in the journey we take together.I`m healthy and up-to-date on my vaccinations. My past living conditions were less than ideal, so I`m grateful for the care and attention I`m receiving now. With continued love and support, I`m hopeful to become more comfortable and confident.Due to my shy nature, a quiet home without young children would suit me best. Loud noises and sudden movements can be overwhelming for me, so a peaceful environment with patient adults or older children who understand the needs of a timid cat would be perfect.Choosing to adopt a shy cat like me means embarking on a rewarding journey of trust and companionship. When you see me start to open up, you`ll know that it`s because of the love and care you`ve given me. Watching me blossom into a more confident and affectionate cat will be a heartwarming experience that we can share together. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $50.

Tabitha is a sweet but shy girl who has had a rough start in life. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she`s learning to trust humans again. At first, she might seem a bit grumpy and reserved, but with patience and understanding, she warms up and shows her gentle side. Once she feels comfortable, Tabitha enjoys gentle pets and quiet moments.Tabitha would thrive in a calm and patient household where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. A quiet environment with no young children or loud noises would be best for her. She might do well as the only pet or with a calm, older cat companion who can show her the ropes.Tabitha is in good health and has been spayed. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been regularly checked by a veterinarian since her rescue.Due to her shy nature, Tabitha would benefit from a family willing to give her the time and space she needs to adjust. Story
Hello! My name is Ivy, a 3-year-old black cat with a heart full of love. I came to the shelter because my previous owner couldn`t continue caring for me. When I arrived, I had a lot of fleas, but thanks to the wonderful staff here, I`m now flea-free and feeling much better.I`m a sweet and affectionate cat who adores pets and love. However, I`m not a fan of being held or picked up—I`d rather come to you for snuggles and attention on my own terms.I am FIV positive, which means I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat’s immune system over time. It’s important for me to stay indoors and live a healthy lifestyle to minimize the risk of infections. With proper care and regular vet check-ups, FIV positive cats can live long, healthy lives.I`ve lived with both cats and dogs before, so I’m comfortable around other pets. Given my FIV status, it`s best if I live with other FIV positive cats or as the only cat in the home to prevent the risk of transmission.Despite my past hardships, I’m ready to shower you with love and affection. I’m resilient, loving, and looking for a forever home where I can feel safe and cherished. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.I am available at:Pet Supplies Plus42241 Garfield RdClinton Twp, MI 48038586-228-0090My adoption fee is $25.00

Story
Hello! I`m Perry, a spirited male brown tabby cat who loves to play and explore with my sister Poppy. We were both born outside and are still adjusting to life with humans, but we`re making great strides!I`m playful, energetic, and full of curiosity. I love to run around, climb to new heights, and play with all kinds of toys. I`m a bit more cautious than my sister, but I`m learning to trust humans more each day.I have a lot of energy and enjoy sprinting around the house and climbing to high places. I love exploring new spaces! Toys are a big hit with me. Whether it`s chasing a ball or pouncing on a feather toy, I always have a blast. While I may be a bit shy at first, my curiosity gets the best of me. I enjoy exploring and meeting new people once I feel safe. Poppy and I share a close bond. We love to play and nap together, providing each other with comfort and companionship.I`m up to date on all my vaccines. I haven`t been neutered yet, but I will be before my adoption is finalized. My sleek brown tabby coat is low-maintenance and easy to groom.I`m looking for a home that can offer plenty of playtime and affection. A family that understands my need for a bit of patience as I adjust would be wonderful. I get along well with my sister Poppy, and we would love to be adopted together if possible.By adopting me, you`re gaining a playful, adventurous friend who will bring endless joy and excitement to your home. I`ll keep you entertained with my playful nature and warm your heart with my affection. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.00

Story
Hi, My name is Milton!I`m a super sweet brown tabby boy who came into Animal Control about a month ago. I was pretty sick when I came in, and very thin. I was struggling to survive on my own.I went into a foster home where I got lots of yummy food and TLC and started feeling better in no time! I love tp play with all sorts of toys and love climbing on cat trees! I`m a big fan of Bird TV too! I want to catch all the birds all the time!I loved playing with other kittens in my foster home; I would really enjoy joining a home with another kitten or playful cat. I`ve not been around dogs or small children, so a proper slow supervised introduction will make sure I have a smooth positive transition to being part of your family.I love cuddling up with you at night and will sleep right next to you on your pillow (if you let me) I love being around people! One of the things I enjoy most is have my head massaged. I will close my eyes and just soak it all in!I may be a little nervous in your home to start out; please be patient with me. I warm up quickly, new situations and people are a little scary to me until I feel comfortable. I`m available for foster to adopt right now, as I will need recheck in about 2 weeks to make sure I`m clear of some pesky intestinal parasites I`ve been treated for; I finished my meds today (7/24/24).You can come meet me and other adoptable cats & dogs at Macomb County Animal Control at 21417 Dunham Rd Clinton Twp, MI 48038 Mon-Fri between 10-4.My adoption fee is $100
