Story
Meet Oscar. Rescued from the notorious West End colony in 2022, Oscar spent the past two years in foster care with his beloved best friend, Bug. The two were inseparable—sharing naps, playtime, and endless cuddles—until Bug passed away recently. Since then, Oscar has been especially lonely and extra clingy, following his foster family everywhere and soaking up every bit of affection he can get. Now, he’s hoping to find a new feline best friend to fill the empty space in his heart. Oscar is about 6.5 years old and has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), which gives him a wobbly, clumsy gait that only adds to his charm. Despite his mellow demeanor, he has a playful side, especially when catnip is involved, and will serenade you with his quiet, raspy meows. He’s FeLV positive and has a history of GI issues, which are well-managed with a daily steroid. He gets bi-annual ultrasounds to keep an eye on everything and his vet believes he is in remission. His adoption fee has been waived due to his special needs and FeLV status. What he needs most is a loving home, and ideally a gentle cat companion, where he can feel safe, adored, and part of a duo again. Could you be the one to give Oscar his next best friend and forever home? Oscar is about 6.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and microchipped. Both cats are FeLV positive (confirmed via PCR).

Story
Say hello to Madman, one of our Ozzy litter kittens. Madman is a sensitive young man who follows his much smaller sister's lead in almost every situation. He likes to observe from a distance while she gets up to shenanigans, only occasionally joining into the fray. He takes a while to settle into new surroundings, but when he is at peace, he becomes an expert cuddler. He loves to play with pretty much every type of toy you could ever imagine for a cat. Madman is bonded with his sister Black Sabbath, and must be adopted with her. Madman is roughly 4 months old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Lottie Lou. Rescued from a 30+ cat colony in the city, this shy girl is well worth the wait. When Lottie trusts you she becomes your best friend. It may take a bit for her to trust you, but she’s a fast learner. She’s just as playful as any other kitten and loves chasing string and mice around! Don’t let her permanent RBF fool you, this girl loves belly rubs when you get her to warm up! Lottie does really well around cats and can be adopted with her sister Loretta or she must go to a home with another young cat to help her adjustment. Lottie Lou is about 6 months old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Meet Lobotomy. Rescued from our big, infamous L Colony, he has really become the perfect little house kitten. Lobotomy is a one-of-a-kind male kitten who may be shy at first, but don’t let that fool you! He truly loves people, and needs a bit of extra patience and a gentle approach to feel safe. Once he trusts you, his affectionate side will shine. He loves head-butting hands to get extra pets! He’s independent, thoughtful, and bonds deeply with people who show him kindness and patience. In a calm and understanding home, he will blossom into a devoted companion with a personality you won’t find anywhere else! Lobotomy has met adult cats and has done well with them. He must be adopted with a sibling or to a home with another young cat (under 7 years). Lobotomy is about 4 months old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Monty. Monty is a tough little brown tabby tuxedo with a story that proves just how resilient cats can be. Found paralyzed near the Liberty Tunnel, he had somehow managed to survive with a broken pelvis in one of the most dangerous places for a feral cat. How he ended up there is anyone’s guess, but one thing is certain—he’s a fighter. After being rescued and given the medical care he desperately needed, Monty made a remarkable recovery. Today, you’d never know he was once unable to move his back legs—he runs, jumps, and plays like nothing ever happened. Despite his incredible physical recovery, Monty’s heart remains firmly guarded. He’s completely unsocial with humans, preferring to observe from a safe distance rather than engage. It’s a shame because his round little face is just begging to be smooshed—but for now, he’ll have to be admired from afar. What Monty does love, however, is the company of other cats. He thrives around feline friends, playing and coexisting happily in their presence. With a patient adopter and a confident, friendly cat to show him the ropes, there’s a chance he could slowly warm up to human companionship over the years—but it’s not a guarantee. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, independent cat who will fill your home with playful energy (while keeping you at arm’s length), Monty might be the perfect addition. He’s a living testament to survival, and while he may never be a cuddly lap cat, he deserves a safe, loving home where he can continue to thrive—on his own terms. Monty is around 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and test FIV/FeLV negative. Because of his semi-feral nature, his adoption fee has been waived.

Story
Meet Luther. Luther came from our large “L Colony” of around 30 cats. She’s a shy little girl with the sweetest heart and the softest purrs. Despite her rough start spending her days playing right in the middle of the street with no survival skills, Luther has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate kitten. She has gained so much confidence and become quite the loving girl, she is very people focused! Luther met Sandy at Petco is one of the very few cats who can tolerate Sandy’s… let’s say… “unrefined social skills.” Yes, it may sound like Sandy is committing a felony when they play. But her dramatic opera-singer vocalizations are really just a side effect of never learning “normal cat” behavior. Luther gets it — she doesn’t overreact, doesn’t take it personally, and seems to understand that Sandy’s verbal hysterics come from a place of pure chaos, not malice. Sandy and Luther may not be bonded, but they really do make quite the pair. Luther would love to be adopted with Sandy, or to a home with another young cat. Luther is about 6 months old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative. She is available at the Waterfront (Homestead) Petco Adoption Center.
