Story
This pretty young lady found herself a mommy and dumped on the streets. She has had a challenging beginning, yet she is now safe and healthy with our rescue. Bailey is understandably shy and fearful, and her perfect forever home is one that is calm with no young children. Adoption events are stressful for this beauty, so we are happy to set up a meet and greet. Could you be the person to bring this girl the love she deserves? Bailey has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been spayed. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Saving Southern Kitties has the most comprehensive vetting standards for adoption. Story
This guy has had his world turned upside down in the last month. He was adopted from us as a kitten along with his sister Tiny Dancer and later another kitty Gail also joined them. Fast forward almost 8 years and Rocket Man and the two girls are back with us, as the family had some changes and a move where they decided they wouldn't be taking them. It's sad and extremely disappointing, but we are happy that they are here with us and that they now have the opportunity to find their forever and ever families. Rocketman is just a big, sweet love who is perfectly content watching the squirrels and birds from his cat tower, sitting with you as you work or watch TV or just batting a toy mouse around. He is so cute and just a really nice boy. He's about as purrfect as they come!! He's had his recent Veterinary checkup, and all systems are go! His wish list is just a calmer couple or person, maybe some empty nesters, someone who works from home, settled in life type of folks who can offer Rocketman all the stability he deserves. Even though Tiny Dancer is his sister, they aren't really bonded, and Gail is more his hangout pal, so if you did want two great middle-aged kitties, Rocketman would not mind if Gail came along. He is also quite independent and will be fine as your one and only or with your kitty or calm pup. Rocketman has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been neutered. Story
Goldmoon was adopted from us as a kitten to a well qualified couple. Sadly, we were notified that that were planning to retire early and travel the country in an RV and decided Goldie wouldn't be going with them. Since coming back to SSK, Goldmoon has been a delightfully sweet girl to her foster parent. She is likely to be nervous at first but within a few days, Goldie was happily bonding with her new caretaker and settled in nicely. She has lived with Fizzy; however, we do feel that they can be adopted separately or together. They're good with other cats and have lived with a small dog. Goldmoon has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been spayed. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Story
Hi my name is Fizzy and I am a wonderful girl. My pal Goldmoon and myself were adopted as kittens and we were just perplexed when our human parents decided they were going to travel the country in an RV and not take us along. Our rescue welcomed me and Goldie back with loving arms and after a few days of hiding and being nervous, we realized our nice foster was a great human and we gladly accepted all the pets, treats and really enjoy playtime. Goldmoon and I have lived together and while we surely wouldn't mind going to our new family together, we are independent gals who like other kitties and even lived with a pup, so we're really ok finding our own new families too! I'm just now 3.5 years young, outgoing and love to hang out in your lap and also play. Doesn't that sound fabulous? Ask my rescue to arrange a play date, ok? I cannot wait to find my true forever and ever! Fizzy has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been spayed. FREE wellness visit with adoption. Story
Shamrock is such a handsome boy! Shamrock and his bonded buddy, Clover came to us from a TNR program who discovered these cuties would do well with a forever family. Although they both will be a little shy at first, they will settle in quickly and snuggle with you. Their perfect home will have cat experienced owners and no children under 12. They will do fine with other cats and calm dogs with proper introductions. Shamrock has had age-appropriate vetting, is FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and has been neutered. Story
UPDATE: Whitley has been adopted. Ginny, Talon, and Havoc are still available. Ginny, an adult feral, came to us on March 5, 2024, from the Lancaster SPCA. She had been hit by a car and was found unconscious across the centerline of the road. She was immediately taken to the vet, and although she had no broken bones, she did have minor abrasions and some swelling around one eye. And, upon further examination, she was pregnant. Although the vet heard two additional heart beats, there were, in fact, three. The vet says Ginny is 18-24 months old, so this is probably not her first litter, but it is certainly her last. For the first month, Ginny was understandably anxious. She was what could best be described as moderately aggressive. But we have seen much worse. She definitely had trust issues; however, as with all the adult ferals that come through our rescue, we gave her the time, space, and grace she needed to adjust to human companions. The bridge to successful feral socialization is a combination of food, affection, and play. As with most ferals, Ginny loves food - that was easy. And after she calmed down, she decided being touched was pleasant. It was rewarding to discover the gentle soul inside that anxious little feral. She still has no idea what toys are for, so we hope her kittens help her out with that. Although she remains wary and watchful, she welcomes affection and seeks contact with us as well as with visitors. On March 25, 2024, Ginny gave birth to three healthy kittens. We are calling them the Bomb Squad because for the first week after Ginny gave birth, whenever we tried to weigh or handle the kittens for a medical check, Ginny would throw swat bombs at us. Fortunately, we have animal handling gloves - my husband learned that lesson the hard way. By early April, Ginny had calmed down considerably, and we could handle her kittens without incident (and without gloves). The Bomb Squad kittens are Whitley (F), Talon (F), and Havoc (M) - names from fighter or bomber aircraft. We would love to see Ginny adopted with one of her kittens, and the other two adopted together as well. Obviously, they are all bonded, and two cats will keep each other company when you are at work or away. They will also burn off a lot of energy you don’t have to deal with. The adoption fee is $150 for one kitten and $225 for two. The fee covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).

Please Contact the foster parent at juiceplusmom@carolina.rr.com“Bella came to us quiet, shy, scared, and missing most of her hair on her back half. A bit of a Houdini, the third day she was with us, she slipped out of the screen window and was gone for exactly a month. When she came back she was filthy, hungry, and both of her eyes were almost sealed shut with pus. Several antibiotics later she was almost back to normal. Her right eye was scratched somehow and we have been working with the vet to get it as back to normal as possible. It does not bother her, it’s more of a cosmetic problem. As for her fur, it’s back to normal as she had been stress grooming. But with our love and affection she is now the sweetest thing! We have showered her with lots of neck scratches, treats, and a sunny place to lay. Now it’s nothing but purrs, headbutts, and snuggles. She’s ready for her furrever home!”
