Valerie is 2 - 3 years old; we are not sure. She was found outside in a cat colony where a rescue group was feeding. But Valerie was very tame and affectionate. Her foster family describes her as the sweetest, most loving cat. She loves to be picked up and rubs her head against your neck. She is living with other cats in her foster home and would probably prefer a more calm environment. She wants all of the attention from her humans. She did test positive for feline FIV but negative for leukemia. She can live as long as cats which do not have the disease (please check online), cannot spread to to other pets unless there is a deep bite (not spread through grooming, sharing food, water or litter boxes) and cannot spread to humans.

Butterscotch is a big orange male cat who was found as a stray. A local homeowner was feeding him but he was looking ragged. So he went to the vet and was treated for an upper respiratory condition. He has also been neutered and received his vaccines. He is a playful and sweet boy (like most orange male cats) and is enjoying feeling better and eating regularly. He would love to be your indoor cat. The homeowner would keep him but his other cat is very territorial and doesn't want a housemate.

Amy was a stray cat with a litter of kittens when a Good Samaritan took her in along with her litter of kittens. She was really just a kitten herself when they were born. She is about 1.5 years old now. She has her vet services and is negative for feline AIDS and leukemia. Her foster mom is now facing eviction if the cats aren't gone by March. The landlord is even threatening to shoot the cats if he sees them outside. Please help Amy find her forever home. She is playful and friendly.

Posey, approximately 1 year old, was rescued after she injured her paw. Her leg became infected and could not be saved. So Posey is a very special girl missing her left front leg, sometimes known as a "tripod". But Posey is not disabled. She can do everything another cat can do; nothing slows her down. She is very sweet and affectionate. She will sleep with you all night. She loves belly rubs and to lie with her feet in the air. Sometimes she makes biscuits in the air. Some might think Posey is defective, but we think she is perfect. She is ready for her forever home. We rescued Lou from the animal protection society of Durham in early spring of 2018. They said she was about 6 months old so we estimate she was born in Oct 2017. She;s been a great cat for us, very cuddly (when it;s her idea). Since having our first child (and now with another on the way) she has struggled with the stress of new family member in the house and lack of attention and that has led us to look for a new home. Ideally the new family would be around the home often for her to have companionship and she would be the only pet (no cats or dogs).
