Story
Goose was found in a military aircraft hangar at 5 weeks old. She is now 3.5 years old. She is sweet and likes cuddles. She likes to do her evening zoomies and will always take a pet from you. She’s a little skiddish of new people but always comes around in the end.

Story
Meet Bruno!   Bruno is a 7-month-old sweetheart who has been the most affectionate and social of his litter from the start. Unlike his siblings, he never showed any fear of people and has always been eager for attention. He’s an incredibly loving and loyal companion—truly a “good buddy” who will brighten your days with his affectionate nature.   Bruno has been on a regular feeding schedule and is quite food-motivated (he’ll try to sneak a bite of any extra food left out!), so mealtimes will need some supervision. He also has a playful side—he loves chasing large acorns around the house and has a funny habit of picking up small objects like pencils in his mouth.   If adopted with his brother Nikola, their new family should be aware that Bruno still occasionally suckles on Nikola’s neck when they cuddle—a habit the vet says he may grow out of, but ultimately, it’s up to Nikola to decide when enough is enough!   Bruno is looking for a loving home where he can continue to be the affectionate, playful, and devoted companion he’s always been. Could that home be yours?  March 9, 2025, 6:14 pm

Story
Meet Sylvie! Sylvie is a 7-month-old sweetheart with a gentle, shy nature. She may take a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, she is incredibly loving and affectionate. She thrives in a calm and patient home where she can build trust at her own pace. When it’s playtime, Sylvie is all about the chase—especially if there’s a string toy involved! She loves darting back and forth in pursuit, though her brothers sometimes get in the way of her fun. Sylvie had a rough start, spending a scary day on her own when her mother moved the litter, but she’s proven to be a resilient and loving little cat. She also has a unique feature—a slight bend at the tip of her tail, likely from an old injury before she arrived in foster care. It doesn’t cause her any pain, but it does add to her charm! Sylvie would do best in a patient, loving home where she can continue to gain confidence and be her affectionate, playful self. If you’re looking for a sweet and gentle companion, Sylvie might be the perfect match for you! March 9, 2025, 6:14 pm

Story
Meet Nikola! Nikola is a 7-month-old cuddle bug with a go-with-the-flow personality. He’s the kind of cat who’s happy just being near you, purring nonstop and soaking up all the love he can get. Whether he’s curling up in your lap or simply lounging nearby, he’s always ready for affection. Nikola is also quite the talker! He’ll let you know when he’s hungry or if his litter box needs attention—he’s not shy about speaking his mind. His expressive personality makes him an entertaining and engaging companion. If adopted with his brother Bruno, their new family should know that Bruno still has a habit of suckling on Nikola’s neck when they cuddle. While the vet says he may grow out of it, it’s ultimately up to Nikola to decide when he’s had enough! Nikola would thrive in a loving home where he can continue being the affectionate, chatty, and easygoing cat he’s always been. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion who will shower you with purrs, Nikola might be the perfect match for you! March 9, 2025, 6:14 pm

Story
Tux is the sweetest boy in the world! He is extremely friendly and purrs loudly, it does not take him long to get comfortable with you. He will cuddle with you. Unfortunately, he does not do well with other animals especially cats. He would need to go to a home with no other animals as his playfulness can be a bit aggressive for other cats. He was left outside by his previous owner in the woods so it is important to me that he goes home to someone who is dedicated to taking care of him. How he behaves around children is unknown as there are no children in my household. To describe Tux in short he is a sweet and loving boy with a lot of energy! It would be hard for you to not fall in love with him. Although his play can be aggressive sometimes he means it all with love.

Story
Tucker is roughly about five years old. We have had him for almost three years at this point. Tucker is very sweet, affectionate, and hasn't had any problems with aggression, though he does struggle with anxiety. My sister (his main owner) is a teacher and so is her husband, and they have three children who all love him. He's fine on their breaks, especially summer vacation, but during the school year when alone for extended hours he will overgroom himself to the point of bald patches. My sister thought that he might need a friend so we got him a female friend and while it did take some getting used to as with most cats, once they were used to the other's presence there was no aggression there, but he did start peeing everywhere. Tucker does not get along with male cats, and I have one, so unfortunately I cannot take him. He just needs a lot of time and attention that we can't afford to give him.

Story
Faster than a speeding bullet, this super-cat loves doing zoomies! Liam is a smidge aloof when first meeting him and he may fly away to his safety perch. But given the time and patience that he needs, he'll let down his guard and become the lovable kitty that is hidden within. Liam's favorite past time is playing with his cat pals, chasing catnip toys and bird watching. Liam is eagerly awaiting a home of his own. Could that be with you? Contact OHAR to learn more about this handsome fella and how to meet him in person!History: Liam, his mom and littermates were all dumped a rural shelter in East Texas, known for its high euthanasia rates and limited public access. A plea was issued by the volunteers to spare this little family's life, so we agreed to bring them into our kennel cat room.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
This shiny house panther loves to play with wand toys, laser pointers, and ping pong balls. But Apple's favorite pass time is sitting in a window watching birds and squirrels. Apple is an inquisitive girl, and she'd love to spend time together while you play a video game, do a puzzle, watch TV, or read a book. Before long, she'll be sleeping next to you on the bed and following you around the house! Apple is looking for a someone who has a quiet household and enjoys a challenge of working patiently to earn her trust. Hint: Soft kitty talk and a few treats are a way to her heart. You'll be deeply rewarded when she finally comes up on your lap! This sleek and gorgeous gal has lived with cats in the past and would do well with another feline companion. She's ready to get out of the shelter and into your home! Are you the special person she's been waiting for?Contact OHAR to schedule your personal meet and greet!History: Brought into Dallas Animal Services as a stray in September of 2021, Apple had a broken left front leg and remained at DAS until we rescued her in November. During that time, her leg was splinted, she was spayed, vaccinated and combo tested. Medical records show that she has made a full recovery and her previous bum leg has not impacted her health or ability to run and jump.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. Story
If social distancing is your thing, then I'm your man! I enjoy the company of other cats and will casually seek you out for pets. But I'm not one for all that touchy feely stuff that these kids need today. I don't need a participation trophy or a "that a boy". Give me a warm bed, a nice window to bird watch from and I'm a happy man. Don't get me wrong, I'm not that easy.... You'll have to buy me a few dinners before I'll crawl into your lap.I'm not one for blind dates so contact OHAR to learn how to meet me!History: Ben, his mom and his siblings were surrendered to a city shelter and were facing euthanasia due to overcrowding. The staff lobbied for their rescue so we stepped up for the little family.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule.
