He is currently being fostered with young cats and they play, take naps and sleep together.  Sarge also cleans the kittens.   Sarge is like a Grandpa to the them. Sarge is also FIV positive. If you’re not familiar with FIV, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. It does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan nor does it impact their quality of life. FIV+ cats may have above average dental disease, i.e. need dentals sooner or more often, but that is not always the case with every FIV+ cat. It's really important that when FIV+ cats are taken for yearly check-ups at the vet, their teeth are also checked. Sarge is one of the nicest tom cats I've ever fostered.  His sweet personality and easy going temperament won me over!  He looks grumpy in his picture and has a few battle scars but don't let that fool you;  he is such a sweetheart!! I may not meow much but when I need your attention I’ll gently place my paw on your leg. Sleeping with you and cuddling on your lap are some of my favorite things to do.  I’m a curious young one who loves to help you with whatever you’re doing. Hunting games are my specialty and I’ll always be up for a new challenge with my toys. I was rescued as a kitten with my mom Naira and we do okay as a pair but I really just want a person of my own to love.  It did not take me long to adjust to my foster home and while the kittens are annoying I'm doing fine with the adults once the initial hiss period is over :)   I love my tall scratcher as it lets me stretch my long body! I am an affectionate, loving, and playful girl. Other cats and/or kittens are lucky enough to be found by their foster families, well, I had other plans. I decided that I would find my own foster family, literally. I was out living on the streets when I wandered onto the porch of my foster family. They were nice enough to take me in during the ice storms/cold weather, and well….. I never left hence why I am in their loving care at the moment until I can find my own forever family. My foster family says that I am one big girl but I think it just means that there is more of me for you to love. I want nothing more than to spend time with you whether that is helping you while you work, watching tv, reading a book or even just being in the same room as you. I will let you know that I want and appreciate the love with my massive purr box and my small chirps. I can be quite persistent when it comes to getting your attention as I will follow you around until you have the time to pet me. Even though I am not a kitten anymore, I do still sometimes love to play with toys. My absolute favorite toy is the interactive ball toy that I chase around in circles. It is never ending. After living on the streets, I am adoring all of the love and cuddles from my foster family. I am a sweet, loving, and playful young girl. When my siblings and I came to NTCR we hadn’t had the best experience with people. Through lots of patience and love we learned just how awesome being loved is. I now love cuddles! When you walk past me I let out a little chirp to tell you “hey don’t forget about me”.  I love my head being loved on. When you put your hand out I drop my head so you can reach the top of my head better. This initiates my little purr box, and I sometimes give little kisses to say thank you. Along with cuddles I also love to play. I like all toys, and am still exploring most of them. So far my favorites are springs, but who knows what I will discover next. Hi there! My name is Dave and I am a spicy little fellow! My foster family doesn't know what happened to me the first few months of my life, but something must've scared me pretty badly. It's taken me awhile to get settled in my foster home, but I'm making great progress. I love to play with the resident cats and I even try to play with the big dog, so I'd make a great companion for the other critters in your home. I'm still trying to make up my mind about you humans, but I'm learning every day how nice y'all can be. I still sometimes hiss a bit when approached, but it's all a show. Once I get to know you and my surroundings, you'll be able to love on me while I purr. I adore laying in the sun in my window hammock or snoozing at the top of my cat tree. When I get the zoomies, I run around grunting and meowing. I can chase that feather-on-a-stick toy until I'm panting! When it's time for bed, I might jump up on your bed and settle down at your feet for awhile or I might snooze in my cat tree. I'm probably a little too much for really small humans, so any kids would have to be old enough to understand that I'm going to need my space in order to adjust to my new home. Meowdy, I’m Dash. I just celebrated my 3rd birthday and I’m oh so handsome and sweet! I was born in a H4P foster home back in April 2020. On the day I was born, I was so eager to take off and explore the world that I slid down behind the bed. My foster mom discovered me and saved my life, and that is how I got the name Dash! I was adopted in 2020, but recently surrendered back to the rescue. I was returned because my family’s situation changed, not because of anything I did wrong. I’m a chill, happy go lucky guy! I was born around February 2023, so I’m still a young kitten with all of the kitten energy and craziness. I chase anything that moves, climb anything remotely climbable and generally cause mischief. After doing that for a bit, I curl up somewhere and take a long nap so I can wake up and do it all over again. I like to use my scratching post and my litter box manners are great. I enjoy being held and petted for a few minutes, resulting in loud purring almost immediately, but then I’m over it and want to go play more.
