Story
Molly was found in July of 2022 with her four kittens in the Texas heat. She gave everything she had to those kittens, so she was malnourished and suffering from heat exhaustion. I took the family in and managed to re-home all the kittens. I fell in love with Molly, so I kept her and got her up to date with her shots. She is super sweet and gets along great with my dog, but she has become more aggressive towards my senior cat recently. I am having to re-home her due to this. She would be a GREAT addition to any family as the only cat. She is a super spunky and playful kitty who loves water and back scratches. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots. Please consider adopting this sweet kitty!

Story
Black/White- Chloe. He was born in 2012. 10-15 lbs. neutered male. no microchip. declawed on front 2. Very shy and sweet. Does not ever bite or scratch, but may hide if scared. Loves to play with Ringo. Has been around other cats and does well. Has hidden when around kids or dogs but never aggressive. Orange- Ringo. He was born in 2015. 10-15 lbs. Neutered male. no microchip. not declawed. Very vocal, playful, and energized. May hiss if feeling scared, but has never bitten or scratched. Tolerates dogs, children, and other cats well. I am looking for any help to be able to rehome 2 cats. I have a lady who I know who lives in Dallas area who is wanting to euthanize her two cats due to moving out of state. I will be taking them into my care on 2/22/25 in order to prevent them from being euthanized and hopefully to find them a forever home. I live in Plano and willing to travel to DFW or closer to transfer the cats.

Story
This short-haired tabby is almost 5 years old. She’s independent and enjoys her space but likes being around people and will cuddle now and then. She’s in good health and a little on the chubby side. She spends most of her time relaxing and minds her own business. With the kids moved out and parents with severe cat allergies, we’re looking for a loving home where she can have company and be cared for. She’d do well in a calm, relaxed environment with someone who appreciates her laid-back nature. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion, she might be the one for you!

Story
Love is patient. Love is kind. If you are both of these, then you could eventually have a tremendously loyal kitty. Amy is a little girl, very cute, but extremely wary. When she came to my house she did not leave her hidey spot for the first month. She would let me approach somewhat, but it was clear she wasn’t ready for me to get very close. Somewhere around 6-8 weeks she felt comfortable enough to come over to me and let me pet her a little bit; it would have to be her idea. Now she comes running to me if I sit down on the sofa. She will sit in my lap or climb on me if I am laying down, but she also likes to flop next to me and have her belly petted. Amy is not interested in being carried. She might be a one-person cat. She will run if my adult son, who lives here, tries to get close to her. She’s a little more friendly toward my adult daughter, who comes to visit. She can get close to Amy, but cannot touch her. I think she needs to be with a cat that she knows to help her transition to a new place. She often sleeps and plays with Penny.January 18, 2025, 9:07 pm

Story
Merlin is my name and playing is my game.   I am a super sweet lover but want to rule all the kitties in the house.   I would be great as a single guy or with a non dominate female.   I came to Texas CARES through a vet, my original family found out I have FIV which is really no big deal and the vet did not want me to be sent across the "bridge" so Texas CARES stepped in and will make sure I get the home I deserve.    I am very handsome fellow and love to watch sports and Hallmark.  What can I say - I am very well rounded.    January 18, 2025, 9:30 pm

Story
Mother of Blackie and BanditIf you are looking for your next lifetime cat and soulmate and have a soft spot in your heart for the underdog (or undercat), your search is over – meet Lena!    Originally adopted from TexasCARES over a year ago, Lena was returned by her family who, sadly, decided she no longer had a place with them.  Returning to our care, Lena was confused, wary, and heartbroken - and certainly didn't appreciate having to go back to cage life until a foster placement was found.  But thanks to a stable and loving foster home, Lena’s true personality is blossoming once again. This chatty little sweetheart is rediscovering her love for humankind. She’s great with pets and scratches to her chin but seems to be cautious about quick invasions of her personal space upon first meeting.  Proper introductions first puh-leeazzz!  Lena’s in-home persona is chatty and affectionate. Using every expression within her feline vocabulary, she will show you how much she craves companionship – rolling over for belly rubs, constant leg-rubbing and prolific biscuit making in your lap.   With her round face, pert nose, short legs, and huge green eyes she’s as adorable as can be—like a tiny munchkin with an enormous heart. Lena is lively and expressive, and determined to capture your attention. Lena does have a forthright style which includes a penchant for pawsiness.  For example, if you try to walk away too soon, she’ll gently bat your calf as if to say, "Excuse me, I wasn’t done!"   Conversely, she needs to know she can retreat to her cat tree or sunny seat without being pestered - unless you approach with a handful of Temptation treats because those are welcome 24/7.   While she’s still learning to fully trust again and can be a little head-shy, we believe Lena’s self-expression was simply misunderstood in her last home. Now, she’s looking for a patient and loving family who will appreciate her assertive personality and embrace her for the wonderful cat she is.  Lena is litterbox trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, spayed and combo tested (negative for feline leukemia and FIV).  This girl is ready to fly so if you're the soft landing Lena seeks, please inquire or submit an adoption application today.      March 10, 2025, 10:47 pm

Story
Buster was rescued after he was abandoned in the forest where he would not survive for long. Luckily he wandered up to a house that backs up to the woods and looked for help and food. He was a kitten about 4 months when found. He is about 1 now, fully vetted, neutered, and ready for his own home. He is house trained, playful, funny, loves to nap, and kinda goofy. He is very shy at first and takes a short time to warm up to new people. He lives with another cat now. He likes a cat door and fears being locked in, probably from his bad experience as a kitten. Buster is affectionate and needs to continue learning to trust humans again. He needs an experienced cat person.
