Story
Meet Mittens, a 2-3-year-old, 6.5-pound mama cat with sweet white paws and an even sweeter heart. This affectionate domestic shorthair girl has been through more than mostâ&#194&#128&#194&#148she was once an outdoor stray and had multiple litters before finally finding safety. After a tragic earlier litter, Mittens was taken in the very day she gave birth to her most recent kittens, where she could finally raise them safely and with love. Despite her past, Mittens is incredibly trusting and gentle. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and fully up to date on all of her medical care. Mittens is an extremely social, loving girl who does well around new people and enjoys being part of the action. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s affectionate, playful, and loves to run to her scratching post when she gets excited. She does well with other cats and with older children; her behavior around younger kids has not yet been tested. As a devoted mama, Mittens can be a bit protective of her kittens when meeting new peopleâ&#194&#128&#194&#148especially if adopted alongside one of themâ&#194&#128&#194&#148but with slow, respectful introductions, she settles in beautifully and is soon happy and relaxed. Mittens is litterbox-trained and has excellent house manners. She is a wonderfully appreciative cat who notices kindness and careâ&#194&#128&#194&#148when you clean her litter box, refresh her space, bring her something new, or feed her, she makes sure to say thank you with gentle headbutts against your legs and loud, content purrs while you work. Her ideal home would be one where sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s treated like the cherished companion she is, with affection and plenty of interaction. Mittens is a resilient, loving, and deeply grateful soul who gives back every bit of care she receives. With her affectionate nature, playful energy, and loving heart, sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready to be someoneâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s treasured companion. Story
Meet this sweet 8-year-old girly who is a professional napper with 23.5 hours a day dedicated to perfecting the art of the snooze, ideally on a soft blanket or your chest during evening cuddle time. Donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t be fooled by her independent streakâ&#194&#128&#194&#148when she chooses you as her nap spot, itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s an honor, and any attempt to move will be met with gentle but firm protest. Chin scratches are her love language, and sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s more than happy to accept them between naps. This regal girl rules the house. She tolerates dogs like a true queen and prefers an environment where her sleep schedule is taken seriously. Bonus feature: she has no tail, which means fewer things mysteriously knocked off tables. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a low-key, loving companion who just wants a soft place to rest and a human who understands the importance of uninterrupted naps, this senior girly is ready to claim her throne in your home. Story
Marceline is like a lotus flower. She has risen from the muck (her litter were strays) and as she grows she is revealing her personality, petals unfolding. She is sure to be brilliantly beautiful when she’s done! What has she revealed so far? Love: She loves to cuddle with her litter mates and is steadily working on making friends with her foster’s house cat. She also likes pets from the humans that are around. Playfulness: She loves to jump scare her brothers! She enjoys a good romp and really likes string toys. Ease: During the day, when she’s not playing, she’ll find a soft surface to chill out on. A sure sign of a happy cat. Communication: she’s not the most talkative of the bunch, but she will let you know when it’s time for breakfast. Marceline is blooming. Want to be there when the final petal opens? All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard adoption fee for kittens under six months is $150, for two kittens it is $200, and for three kittens it is $300. Story
Julep and her brothers, Clyde and Derby, are ready for new homes! Julep is just as her name suggests, a cool sweet drink of a kitten. She’s good with cats (hasn’t met any dogs) and loves to play, eat, and sleep. She goes mad for wet food, loves every kind of toy so far, and is not opposed to catching her Z’s on you. If you think a vibrant gray tabby, full of a zeal for life, is right for you, click the button below to get started and meet Julep. We strongly encourage adopting two kittens, especially if you don’t already have a young, playful cat at home. Kittens thrive with a buddy, and it often makes for an easier, happier transition for everyone. Story
A maintenance worker discovered this tiny trio of kittens tucked away in a utility closet. They were brought inside, along with their mama Chanterelle, so they could stay together and thrive. Thanks to her care (and lots of love from their foster home), these little mushrooms are growing stronger and getting ready to find their forever homes. Enoki is the boldest of the bunch and has no problem taking the lead. This handsome tan tabby is always the first to pop up and say hello when you walk in. Curious and confident, he wants to know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and whether he can help (or supervise closely). If you’re looking for a kitten with a big personality and an adventurous spirit, Enoki is your guy. He’s got plenty of room in his heart (and energy to spare) for a family that will let him explore, play, and be right in the middle of everything. Story
Meet Cleo: The Professional Napper It is with a heavy heart that we are looking for a new 'forever lap' for our beloved Cleo. While we wish she could stay with us forever, a significant feline allergy in our youngest child means Cleo needs a new home where she can be the center of attention without causing any sneezes. Quick Stats * Age: 7 years young * Energy Level: Expert-level relaxation * Special Skills: Competitive cuddling, synchronized purring, and finding the single sunbeam in any room. Personality & Traits Cleo is a master of leisure. If there were an Olympic sport for napping, she would take home the gold every time. At seven years old, she has long outgrown the 'zoomies' and much prefers a quiet life of luxury and affection. * The Cuddle Queen: Cleo doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t just tolerate affection; she seeks it out. She is a true companion cat who loves to be near her humans, whether thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s curled up on the sofa during a movie or tucked into the crook of your arm. * Low Maintenance: Being a bit on the lazy side, Cleo is the perfect match for someone looking for a calm, steady presence. She isn't one to climb the curtains or knock over vasesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s far too busy resting for her next nap. * Sweet Temperament: She has a gentle soul and a very mellow disposition, making her an easy addition to a peaceful household. The Ideal Home Cleo would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of head scratches and has a soft spot to call her own. She is looking for a family or individual who appreciates the finer things in life: peace, quiet, and a very soft cat to pet. She may be lazy, but she has a heart of gold and enough love to fill a whole home! This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
