This sweetheart came to us unexpectedly. She was dumped and we took her in. Initially she didn't know what toys, other cats, cat trees or playing was. She had never been exposed to any of this. Over time she has come out of her shell and has the cutest personality. She is such a love!! She now loves to play, climb the cat trees, play with the other cats, greets us when we come home, loves to snuggle, sit on your shoulder, purr and more. She will make a wonderful addition to your family.

Dewey was found sleep under my car. He spent a couple weeks on our driveway before the weather started get hotter and we opened our garage for him to get out of the sun. After a couple more days we moved him inside to my office and he's been in there since. We would love to keep him but our dogs get jealous of him. He is super sweet and love attention. He still has his claws and is intact, also already litter trained. We don't know if he has ever had his shots or not. We are looking for a forever home for him. Someone who is okay with him sitting on their lap most of the day as he begs for pets.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   Squirrel was rescued from a dumpster with his siblings at the age of two weeks and brought to his foster home to be bottle-fed. Squirrel is a very smart cat with a personality bigger than he is. He's full of energy and loves playing. Boots was born on May 5, 2025 to a local stray cat who I have now fully adopted. He has 3 littermates and is a very sweet boy. Boots loves to cuddle and play with his siblings, as well as with my partner and I. He is a very chill, and independent kitten. He occasionally wants to be held and given a nice warm hug, but mostly keeps to himself. He is up to date on his rabies and FVRCP vaccine and is negative for both FeLV and FIV.
