Enzo is an affectionate, gentle little poodle who truly shines once he feels safe and settled. He loves his people and enjoys being close, but he can startle easily—sudden noises can catch him off guard. Because of this, Enzo will do best with a patient adopter who understands shy or sensitive dogs and is willing to help him continue building confidence. Enzo gets along very well with other dogs and has lovely manners. He needs a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes and give him reassurance. He’s not high energy and is content with a calm, predictable routine. He is a good eater, sleeps nicely in his kennel, and kennels well when his foster runs errands for a couple of hours. Enzo is also a good little car rider. He walks well on leash and his recall is coming along—he’s learning and picks things up fairly quickly. Enzo is a great little guy who just needs the right home—one that’s patient, understanding, and willing to work with him as he continues to grow in confidence. Adoption Fee: $695

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Bagel is a 1y., 38-lb pocket-sized cutie with a delightful mix of Chihuahua, Dachshund , Labrador, AND Pitbull! He is the doggy definition of an Everything Bagel. He starts out a little shy, but give him a moment and you’ll discover a loyal, snuggly sidekick who loves his people with his whole heart. Bagel is one of our  long-term fosters and deserves to find his forever. *Click through his photos for DNA results!* Personality: Shy at first, but when he opens up he's playful, sweet, eager to learn, and full of teenage puppy zest! Bagel is an active boy who loves adventures and is happiest when he’s exploring with his humans. Best Home: Bagel would thrive with another confident dog to help show him the world isn’t so scary. A secure yard is a bonus—he’s a certified zoomie enthusiast! Favorite Things: Tug toys, stuffies, balls, chew bones, sticks, playful dog siblings, and ALL the goofy games. If it’s fun, Bagel is all in. Foster Notes: Bagel currently lives with multiple dogs and lots of humans. He’s still finding his confidence with new people (expect some “hello” barks), but he’s learning quickly and blossoming beautifully. Walks? Yes! Park trips? Absolutely! Helping the humans socialize? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers.    Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in.  Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs.   Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing.   Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend.    Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs.   At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home.    Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.   Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble.
