He is the doggy definition of an Everything Bagel. He starts out a little shy, but give him a moment and you’ll discover a loyal, snuggly sidekick who loves his people with his whole heart. Bagel is one of our long-term fosters and deserves to find his forever. *Click through his photos for DNA results!* Personality: Shy at first, but when he opens up he's playful, sweet, eager to learn, and full of teenage puppy zest! Bagel is an active boy who loves adventures and is happiest when he’s exploring with his humans. Best Home: Bagel would thrive with another confident dog to help show him the world isn’t so scary. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers. Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in. Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs. Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing. Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend. Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs. At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home. Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Alfred, or “Alfie” for short, is a sweet chi mix whose little life didn’t get off to a great start and is still working on trusting his surroundings. He loves to play with other dogs his own size and after a good romp will curl up in the same bed for naptime together. While he is wary of new people, he is quickly learning that belly pets are kind of a great thing. He has even learned that if he climbs the pet steps it leads to the foster’s comfy bed where he can snuggle right in! Due to his skittish temperament, it is recommended Alfie be placed in a home with children over the age of 10. A few facts about Alfie: His favorite game is tug. Bring it on! Moto is a sweet, low-riding pup with adorable basset hound legs and a heart full of love. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to follow his foster sibling around the yard—he’s so short, he can even stroll right under her belly! Moto approaches every day with joyful enthusiasm, whether it’s playing with the resident dog, going for walks around the neighborhood, or snuggling on the couch with his nose resting on his foster’s shoulder. During the day, Moto is content to relax on his dog bed nearby while his foster works from home. He’s crate-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and does great when left alone, either in the crate or without it. He knows the basic commands of “sit” and “down” and walks well on a leash with occasional reminders to slow down, though he does find squirrels very exciting.
