Story
Hi I'm Rosie. If you are wondering what gives me my cool coloring it's because I'm a "Dutch" Shepherd. Like the GSD and Malinois, I'm a herding breed and pretty similar in termperament. I'm a senior girl but don't let that scare you. I'm ready to go whenever you are and I'm a wonderful balance of energy. I like walks, riding in the car, saying hi to the horses - you know - just being with my people. I'm a healthy, active girl. I don't need marathons but I do need to keep my figure.  On top of all that wonderful dog stuff, I am vibrant, sweet, and super affiliative. Wherever your'e headed, I’m happy to come along. If it's snuggling up with a movie or friends, I'm a champ at that. I even give the kitties their space.  Don't forget, I'm a herding breed and I do have a touch of prey drive for those pesky critters (especially the squirrels). I get a bit too excited meeting the really small dogs, too, but I'm pleaser and we could work on that. On top of all that, I'm perfect in the house and will treat your guests like family.  Dutchies are known for their brains, beauty and athleticism and that's me all the way! Everyone who meets me says I’m really special — and I think they’re right! I am the total package and do make a truly wonderful best friend. There have been a lot of changes in my life and I am really looking forward to the place that will be my forever home.  Sensitive dogs thrive with predictability and although I am adaptable i would love to know that I am finally HOME!! If you’re ready for a loyal, fun-loving best friend that you can take anywhere, I might just be your girl. I'm hanging out with my foster peeps and dog buddy, Yogi, in Mountain View. Come say hi and check me out. Just FYI....my foster mom and dad say that I'm not slowing down and that I'm in my prime! You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic.  Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!.  If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.  You can also sponsor Rose by clicking here. Story
Dutchess is a beautiful shepherd girl with a tender heart that’s still learning the world can be a safe place. Right now, she’s very scared — the kind of scared that makes her try to make herself as small and far away as possible when someone approaches her crate. It’s clear she hasn’t had an easy start, and everything feels new and overwhelming. But even in her fear, Dutchess is trying. She allows her leash to be put on and will come out with gentle guidance, showing just how much quiet bravery she has inside. One of her biggest moments so far? When the crate door was open to the yard, with a calm environment and a familiar dog nearby, she found the courage to step outside on her own, go potty, and return to her safe space. It may seem small, but for Dutchess, that was huge. Right now, her crate is where she feels safest — she’s even pushed all the blankets aside to lay on the plastic bottom, seeking comfort in what feels predictable and secure. She’s not ready for the world just yet, but she wants to get there. Dutchess is looking for a very patient, understanding home — one that will give her the time and space she needs to build trust at her own pace. A calm environment, possibly with another gentle, confident dog, could help her continue to come out of her shell. She doesn’t need perfection — she just needs someone willing to meet her where she is and celebrate every tiny victory along the way. Watching Dutchess learn to feel safe will be a journey, but it will also be an incredibly rewarding one. Beneath the fear is a sweet soul just waiting for her chance to shine. If you have a quiet home and a big heart for a dog who needs a little extra love, Dutchess is waiting for you
