Story
Please contact Adoption (coastalgsrsd@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Meet Duchess – a 2.5-year-old beauty with brains, heart, and charm. Duchess is a miss of German Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd and Cattle Dog. Well-trained and housebroken, Duchess is an affectionate girl who listens well and loves being part of the action. She can be just a sliver shy when first meeting new people, but once she warms up—it’s game on! Her playful, loving side shines through, and she quickly becomes your loyal sidekick. Duchess adores people and thrives on connection. She is also good with children. She has a huge play drive and is always ready for action—fetch, tug, or any kind of adventure. Duchess is a smart, high-energy girl eager to engage and would be happiest in an active home where she can put both her body and brain to work. She does best with male dogs and would thrive in a home that values both companionship and good manners. If you're looking for a fun, loyal, and athletic companion, Duchess might just be your perfect match. Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us  at  information@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application  The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds. Your tax deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal was formed to serve communities in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.April 26, 2025, 7:10 pm

Meet ManchegoDOB: January 2022Weight: 45 lbsDisposition: Curious, Coy, PlayfulWe believe Manchego was a bit sheltered in his previous life so needs practice on leashed walks and meeting new people (he's a bit shy), but once has the chance to gain experience, he'll be a reliable sidekick. He's social with other dogs and friendly with stubby legs that make him so endearing!History: Surrendered to Coachella shelter with 4 of his siblings. Rescued by TBL in January 2025 when they were at risk of euthanasia.Best Home: Patient single or couple who are willing to help a bit of scaredy cat learn the ways of the world.Amazing Qualities: Lowriding legs...need we say more?If you're interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA.
