Story
Meet ChiliChili is a sweet and sensitive dog who can be nervous when meeting new people, but once given time to feel comfortable, he begins to show his gentle and affectionate side. When approached slowly with soft conversation and treats, Chili gradually gains confidence and has allowed gentle pets. He responds well to a calm, patient handler and does best when given the opportunity to take things at his own pace.Chili would thrive with an adopter who understands shy dogs and can provide a calm, secure environment where he can decompress and gain confidence. He will need a securely fenced environment and continued positive, patient guidance as he learns to feel safe and comfortable.Because of his history with horses and chickens, Chili will need a placement with no access to livestock or small animals.Chili may not be the dog who runs up to you on day one, but give him patience, kindness, and a little time, and you may just earn the trust of a very special dog. He deserves someone willing to see the sweet dog underneath his nervousness and give him the chance to blossom.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dina grew up in the rescue and is  housetrained. She picks up commands quickly, we are still in the process of haing her be comfortable in a harness and on a walk.     She loves to chew on toys, with some standing up to her better than others, but plush ones don’t stand a chance. She’s very active and needs another dog to play with. While she can be bossy, she backs down if the other dog asserts itself. Dina loves playing tag and is quite good at it.    She obeys when using hand signals, respects a water bottle, and has learned not to beg at the table. She hasn’t been around children, and it’s unclear if she’s ever even seen one. She is very loyal to her person, she loves to cuddle up to you and get attention or she will just hang out on the couch to watch tv.While leash training is a work in progress, Dina would thrive in a foster or foster-to-adopt home..  If you are seeking a dog to welcome into your family,  we invite you to consider her. While she may need time to feel comfortable with new people, her loving heart ensures she does not stay distant for long. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tuck is still very shy around strangers, but once he gets to know them, he improves. He will need time to adjust to a new home and requires a household without children. He is housetrained and has learned not to beg at the table. No matter who is eating or where, he won’t approach unless invited. He has a big dog bark and will alert you when strangers are near. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loving and just wants affection—belly rubs are his favorite. He is also a talker and a groaner. All these characteristocs make him an adorable boy. He’s still resistant to the leash, but we believe he will thrive with the right foster family. Fenced yard is required and another dog is a must. Foster to adopt home and will be neutered before adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2026, 4:32 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Olivia!Olivia came to PRBJ from an overcrowded out of state rescue.  She was brought in by the Pilots for Paws which bring dogs from rural places to larger cities to help them find a home.  Unfortunately, Olivia had been waiting at this rescue since 2024 when she came in with her litter of pups.  He pups were adopted, while Olivia sat and waited.  She loves people and we are working with her on reactivity to other dogs.  It seems when she is out and about that she does well, but when in the kennels, she is not fond of any dog. At this time we are requesting a home with no other dogs.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2026, 5:34 pm

Story
We adopted Ash from our local animal shelter two years ago, and he's been a big part of our family ever since. He's now three years old, incredibly friendly, affectionate, and full of energy. He absolutely loves cuddles, attention, and being around people. He's also very food-motivated, which makes training a breeze. He's an incredibly smart dog who picks up on things quickly, especially when treats are involved!Ash would thrive in a home with someone who can match his energy, provide plenty of exercise, and give him the attention and stimulation he needs. He would be happiest with an active person or family who has the time and space to let him burn off some of that enthusiasm. This is a genuinely difficult decision for our family. The only reason we're looking for a new home for Ash is that we've welcomed a new baby, and his high energy level has become difficult to manage alongside the demands of caring for an infant.
