Story
Winnie is a 4 years and 34 pounds. She is Good with other dogs. She is house and crate trained. Loves being with people and playing ball. She does not like to be alone and will get into trouble if she is not watched or crated. She is a very active dog so would do best in a home that can offer her routine structure and physical and mental stimulation. She can be jumpy and therefore shouldn’t be in a home with very small children. Please email g_fleming41@yahoo.com to arrange a meet

Story
Meet Sara — Your New Best Friend in a Perfectly Trained, 45-Pound Package of Love At just 20 months old, Miss Sara is already proving to be the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog everyone hopes for—smart, affectionate, eager to please, and now… beautifully trained. Originally adopted as a puppy, Sara was very loved—but when her owner sadly fell ill and could no longer care for her, everything changed. She returned to us with a heart full of love, but without the manners every young pup needs. We knew this girl had potential, so off she went to a professional 3-week training program… and wow, is she showing off. &#226&#156&#133 Training? She’s nailing it. &#226&#156&#133 People? She adores them. &#226&#156&#133 Dogs? Instant besties. &#226&#156&#133 Kids? She belly-crawls just to be close to them—it’s beyond precious. We believe she’s a Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds, with a gorgeous, sleek coat and a heart that beats for human connection. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—and yes, ready to go! Now, she’s just looking for a home that can match her devotion with love and guidance. Toys are her jam, and she’ll happily entertain herself or join you for a game of fetch. No kitties for this girl, please! Chasing them is just too much fun, and she needs a cat-free home to thrive. Sara is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Her loyalty is unmatched, her spirit is bright, and her readiness for her forever home couldn’t be clearer. Interested in giving this beautiful girl her happily-ever-after? Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com today. Let Sara show you what love, intelligence, and a second chance can really look like. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Remi is a 1-year young Dutch Shepherd mix who was found alone and unclaimed in an area known for abandoned dogs. She currently weighs 40 pounds but will fill out to at least 50 once matured. This black-socked beauty had a few lessons to learn when she first entered rescue. She'd more than likely never had been in a home and quickly picked up crate training on her first night in foster care. She has found 2 best friends in the rescue- both fosters; Bingo the border collie and Valerie another Shepherd mix. The 3 play and gallop through the yard until it's time to come in for a nap. Remi shows interest in toys but isn't quite sure yet how to play with them. She loves chewing on Benebones and antlers and can be found rolling a ball around the yard by herself until someone with more skills steals it. This gentle girl has been warm and friendly to every stranger she's met; from our vet to the kids down the street, Remi is an easy match for friendship. We're not too sure of her relationship with cats. She came into the rescue not giving them a second glance but has now found them to be fascinating. The cats here are barn cats so there's a fence that separates them from a "true" test. Remi prefers the company of her person over dogs but would also pair well with another canine companion in her future home as long as they're not too old. As a young girl, she has lots of get up and go and we want her to be successful in her pairing. Remi is fully vetted and has received a 1 year Pro-heart shot for 12 months of Heartworm prevention. She is microchipped and ready for an active family looking for a forever friend. All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.

Story
Meet Dottie Lonestar Dottie Lonestar is a 3½-year-old sweetheart with a soft soul and a heart full of love. Rescued as a stray, her past is a mystery—but what we do know is that her future can be absolutely wonderful. Dottie is mom to a litter of puppies that have already traveled to NJ and have been adopted through Eleventh Hour Rescue.  They include Moon, Micah, Mason, Madie & Magoo.  Now, it's Mom's turn!  Dottie is a gentle, well-mannered girl who takes treats delicately, never jumps on people, and loves to lean in close for pets and attention. She’s shy when meeting new people and needs a little time to build trust, but once she settles in, she blossoms into a happy, relaxed, and affectionate companion. She does great with other dogs and would feel most comfortable in a home with a confident canine buddy to help her feel secure. In nice weather, Dottie loves being outside—trotting around the yard, keeping an eye out for squirrels, and taking in all the day’s happenings. Dottie is crate trained and very comfortable with her routine. She sleeps in her crate at night, puts herself to bed around 8:30–9:00 pm, and happily goes in and out during the day for naps. She even eats her meals in her crate and will patiently wait there at feeding time like the good girl she is. Dottie Lonestar is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow in confidence and be loved for the gentle gem she is. If you’re ready to give her the bright future she deserves, apply to adopt today—Dottie is ready to meet her forever family. (Breed Mix is a guess based on looks and character.  We would love for Dottie's family to do a DNA Test & see how it comes out.)  Dottie is microchipped, spayed and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $415.  Apply to adopt DOTTIE LONESTAR at www.ehrdogs.org         (function () { // Only on animal detail pages if (!/\/animals\/detail/i.test(location.pathname)) return; // Debounce to avoid double-fire (touchend + click, etc.) var lastNavAt = 0; function toFullSize(url) { try { var u = new URL(url, location.href); u.searchParams.delete('width'); u.searchParams.delete('height'); return u.toString(); } catch (e) { return url || ''; } } function looksLikeAnimalPhoto(url) { return /\/pictures\/animals\/\d+\/\d+\/[^?#]+\.(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)/i.test(url || ''); } function handler(e) { var el = e.target; if (!el) return; // Find the closest anchor or image in the click path var a = el.closest ? el.closest('a') : null; var img = el.closest ? el.closest('img') : null; var url = ''; // Prefer anchor href if it points to an animal photo if (a && a.getAttribute) { var href = a.getAttribute('href') || ''; if (href && (href.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(href))) { url = href; } } // Otherwise fall back to the image src if (!url && img && img.getAttribute) { var src = img.getAttribute('src') || ''; if (src && (src.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(src))) { url = src; } } if (!url) return; // Absolute URL + full-size version try { url = new URL(url, location.href).toString(); } catch (_) {} url = toFullSize(url); // Stop PrettyPhoto (and any other delegated click handlers) e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); if (e.stopImmediatePropagation) e.stopImmediatePropagation(); // Debounce var now = Date.now(); if (now - lastNavAt < 500) return; lastNavAt = now; // SAME TAB navigation to the full-size image location.href = url; } // Capture phase is the key: we get the event before PrettyPhoto. Introducing Kai, a 7 year old female Dutch shepherd. She has lived a wonderful life and has been well cared for and socialized but her owner has come into hard times and has to make the incredibly hard decision to find her a new home. He loves her so much and knows she deserves the world that he can’t provide. Please no rude comments, he is heartbroken. Kai is an incredibly intelligent dog. She absolutely adores people. She is 7 years old but she is still ready for adventures. Kai will need a family that will provide daily exercise and then a couch to sleep on! Kai is good with other dogs, especially male dogs. She has also been around cats and was great with them. Kai has been professionally trained and is housetrained. Kai is located in Huntsville AL. We are needing to find her a forever home by the end of the month! If you are interested in adopting Kai, please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net

Story
Karla is a 5 year old, black German Shepherd mix. She is exceptionally smart and does amazingly well with her training. Karla will need a kind, committed, confident and active person who can channel her energy and drive and allow her to be the magnificent friend we know she is. She is a lean 50 pounds. Here is the tricky part - Karla does not like strangers, and sometimes other dogs. Karla takes a long time to warm up, and as such she cannot go home with just anyone. She is protective of her people, so she will need a home where this is respected. An experienced dog owner is a must. Shepherd experience is a plus. If you are interested in meeting this wonderful dog (she really is a sweetheart once she knows you!), please fill out an adoption application. Karla had a DNA test and she is: 46% German Shepherd Dog 32% American Pit Bull Terrier 9% Rottweiler 5% Dalmatian 4% American Staffordshire Terrier 2% White Swiss Shepherd 1% Belgian Sheepdog 1% Bohemian Shepherd Dog Karla is housetrained!
