Story
Meet Roxy, a delightful 10-year-old 65-pound Dutch Shepherd eagerly awaiting her forever home. With a heart full of sweetness, this lovable girl's energy and enthusiasm for life are infectious. Roxy's favorite pastimes include running and playing, and she's always up for an adventure with her new family.A true attention-seeker, Roxy adores being showered with love and affection. Her gentle and kind nature makes her a good companion for children though her size and enthusiasm might be too much for very young children. While Roxy gets along well with select dogs, we recommend a cat-free home due to her size and breed's natural instincts. Roxy's endearing personality makes her a gentle giant, though she has a tendency to guard meat bones, so it's best to avoid giving them to her. She also does not like being confined to small spaces, so a home with a large yard would be best. If you're looking for a loving, active, and loyal furry friend, Roxy might be the perfect addition to your family. Consider adopting this wonderful canine companion and witness the joy she brings into your life.Roxy had a malignant mammary tumor when she arrived which was surgically removed, but this type of cancer can recur or appear in other parts of the body, so regular veterinary monitoring is essential.

Story
Drake is a handsome lad all decked out in black which is becoming of him! He is approx 3 years old and loves to run and play with his foster siblings. He will play with his doggie toys all day long and has such a great time. See the video below:) Drake is learning to walk on a leash and is learning his house manners. He is crate-trained and rides well in the car. We are not sure of his breed, but Dutch Sheperd and Australian Kelpie/Cattle Dog seem fitting. He gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions. Go ahead and apply to adopt this sweet boy! He would love to be running/walking/jogging the trails this Spring with his new family or snuggling on the couch would suit him fine. Drake is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negtive for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! Story
Meet Zara!  Breed Guess: Dutch Shepherd/Corgi MixAge: Young Adult...best guess is 2-3 years oldWeight: A very compact 23lbs  Other Animals: Zara wants to play with her fur foster but he isn't interested in playing with her and she respects his boundries.  She does give him kisses which he accepts from her.  We feel that she would probably do well with a doggy companion.  We were told that she was not reactive with cats and she doesn't try to chase squirrels or geese.Kids: She is very nervous when meeting strangers right now so feel that calm teens would be bestHouse training: She is totally fine but may need a little time to learn a new routine in a new homeExercise needs: Zara is a low to medum energy pup.  She LOVES going on walks and is good on leash. What she's great at: When she earns your trust, she is a great cuddler.  She is house broken and happy to be in her crate. What she's working on: Trusting new people.  Coming from a hoarding situation she didn't have exposure to much so she is learning that there is a big beautiful world out there.Personality: Zara is a sweet little girl.  She warmed up to her foster family very quickly but she is nervous when meeting new people.  She would prefer to come to you in her time frame.  She was recently at an event and, in a relatively short amount of time, she was started making friends with people as long as they ignored her and allowed her to approach them.  Zara's Story: She was found in a hoarding situation in Grand Cayman.  She lived with a foster family there for a short time until they were able to get her to us.  Dream Home: She would love a quiet home with a patient family that will give her time to come out of her shell.  We feel that another dog would help her feel more comfortable but also feel that she may be fine on her own.  Zara would love someone that will take her on walks and maybe eventually a hike!  She also loves to cuddle on her foster dad's lap so seems to be the best of all worlds! ##2009612##

Story
Zara was a stray found roaming here in Stamford. Zara is a sweet girl and is in need of basic obedience training but takes corrections well. She is dog selective and would rather spend time with people; being the only dog in the home is ideal. Zara will need an owner that has experience with the breed and will be consistent with training. With the right owner, patience and consistent training Zara will be the perfect addition to a family. April 29, 2024, 11:11 am

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)       Flynn is an amazing 5 month old brindle mix straight from Arkansas. He is super sweet and very smart. He has quickly picked up using a dog door and is working hard to sit and stay on command. Flynn is almost crate trained  He is being trained not to jump when greeted as we think he will be quite a big boy. He loves to cuddle with all humans including children and is very treat motivated. He is good with other dogs. He has not met any cats yet. Flynn has some energy but in comparison to other puppies he is very content relaxed.      All dogs are located in NY/NJ areaAll our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
