He’s a social, well-rounded boy who enjoys being around people and thrives on companionship. Luca gets along great with kids, cats, and other dogs, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. His easygoing and affectionate nature makes him a natural fit for family life, whether it’s playtime in the yard or relaxing together at home. If you’re looking for a devoted, friendly companion who will blend seamlessly into your family, Luca could be the perfect match. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Meet Brooks!! This handsome hunk came in as a stray on 12/4/25, and we think he’s about 2 years old. Brooks is absolutely gorgeous — and a big guy — but no one has told him that! He has no idea how large and strong he is, which becomes very clear when he decides your lap is exactly where he belongs. Brooks hasn’t quite mastered personal space or polite manners yet, but he is smart and eager to learn. With guidance, structure, and someone willing to teach him, he’ll blossom into the well-mannered companion he’s meant to be. Brooks is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet this lovable goofball! Brooks is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 It is an application process — you can request an application at dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Meet Zenna! Zenna is a 1-year-old female German Shepherd mix! She weighs 48 pounds, but we suspect still has some filling out to do. Zenna totally has a German Shepherd personality and a big bark. She is crate-trained and potty-trained. She was rescued from an Ohio pound and came to us with a lack of understanding of rules and boundaries. Foster mom and family have worked very hard to instill rules and boundaries. She is young and still learning, so she will need someone to continue to work with her and be willing to take her to a trainer. We are looking for an active person or family with large breed dog experience. She loves other dogs, but can be a lot for them to handle, so they need to be good at playing! She is good with kids, but unfortunately, she does not care who is standing in her way and will plow you down, so we are looking for a home with kids over 8. She will chase the cats if they run from her, but she is not being aggressive; she just wants them to play with her. If the cats don't run, she doesn't chase. She will also be good as an only dog as long as you are willing to entertain her. She is gogogo, but will eventually settle down into a routine. Meet Dodger. He was saved from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. He has had a couple of vaccines but will visit the vet on 3/3 for neutering and everything else he needs. He loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. More info to come soon. His adoption fee is $200.
