Story
🐾BRUTUS🖤 Brutus is a 1.5 year old Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix according to his embark testing! He’s a big cuddly goofball and loves to make his humans laugh! 🥰 This lanky boy is very smart and loves to do training/learn new things and keep his brain busy, which makes sense with his awesome breed mix! He’s very affectionate and loves to follow his person around and cuddle. He rides great in the car and is fully crate and housetrained. 💯 Brutus is a great swimmer and loves to play fetch in the water, his foster is currently training him for dock diving! Despite being very active and having lots of energy he has a great off switch, too. He can get excited very easily and has some manners that need work but his foster mama is having so much fun training him & he’s learning quickly. 🐶 If you’re interested in dog sports, Brutus would be a great match for you! Especially if you’re a beginner - he is so eager to learn and please.🥰 For his forever family, Brutus is seeking an active home with someone who is willing to keep up with his training and give him plenty of exercise. He thrives when staying active both physically and mentally. He does great with all sizes of dogs & older kids. He is a very social boy and would do great with some dog friends in his home! 🏡 Does Brutus sound like the adventure buddy you’ve been looking for? 🫶🏼 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. We were only supposed to watch her for a few weeks and due to unfortunate circumstances the owner was never able to take her back so we’ve kept her intending to rehome her buts it’s been extremely hard. We want to avoid the shelter completely, as we’ve grown to love her and want the absolute best for her. We rent currently and due to our lease we are unable to keep her. Our landlord as been understanding of the situation, but is urging us to find her a home asap. Piper, turned two in December of 2023. We were told she is a Dutch Shepard but believe she may be mixed. She is very sweet, loving, and energetic. She is potty trained as well.Cats aren't an issue, she avoids them because she's scared of them. She's good with other dogs, big and small. She currently lives with our smaller dog and does very well with her. She does have a slight food aggression, so we have to separate them when they eat by putting them in two different rooms. She's great around adults and older kids, but doesn’

Story
Dear Friends, Meet Guts, our beloved (1.5 year old) German Shepherd. Due to recent life changes, we find ourselves in a situation where we must rehome him. It’s a decision that weighs heavily on our hearts, but we believe it’s in Guts’ best interest. Our living environment has become cramped, and Guts deserves room to stretch his paws and explore freely. He loves to run around large open environments, and our property is not ideal for his need to explore and run. We also have other animals in the house that do not like him or appreciate his presence. Guts is very loyal and curious. He loves to walk around each room to see what everyone is up to. He enjoys lettuce and other leafy greens, and his favorite treat are ice cubes. He needs space to explore and run around. We cant always provide him with that so he gets frustrated with us sometimes. I wish to see him paired with someone who absolutely loves dogs and understands how big dogs work. He is a big boy and needs a good leader.

Story
Adopted from rescue at 4 months old. Had medical issues. She just turned 3 years old on March 22nd. Sweet, affectionate dog. Great with dogs, kids, and cats. Has been sick for a year, cannot get her to gain weight. Believed she has IBS. Allergic to chicken and grains. Has crohnic diarrhea. Can mainly only eat salmon type food. Once healthy she will be a fun, energetic, playful and loving companion. I just don't have the funds available to give her what she needs and want to give her a chance with someone who can get her back to herself.
