Story
Meet Rico, an energetic Dutch Shepherd aged 10-12 months, rescued from an abuse/neglect situation by Animal Control. Rico has overcome his past experiences and embraces each day as a new opportunity. This spirited boy is not shy; he exudes playfulness, fun, and love. All Rico needs is the right home with compassionate individuals who can provide training, guidance, and acceptance for his unique personality. Rico's journey to rescue began when time was running out for him in a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, he was transferred to our rescue, offering him a chance at a fresh start and the possibility of finding his forever home. This stunning boy is searching for a loving family to call his "Furever" home. Rest assured, Rico is fully vetted, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, and is scheduled to be neutered in February (costs covered by the rescue). Now, all Rico needs is an active family that will welcome him as a cherished member of their household. If Rico has captured your heart and you're interested in meeting him, or if you're considering fostering, adopting, or sponsoring this handsome boy, please visit our website at https://serendipityanimalrescue.org for the application or more information.

Story
Annie is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Dutch Shepherd mix. She is a very happy, sensitive, smart, and energetic dog. Annie is house trained. She knows the commands sir, lay down and stay. She walks fairly well on leash, she may pull a bit if there is a squirrel to investigate. She usually enjoys a good run at the dog park then she sleeps for the rest of the day. Annie is great with the 1, 2, and 5-year-old children she loves with. She is dog-selective but can be great with other dogs who are more submissive. Annie does have a high prey drive, so she shouldn't be with cars or small dogs. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs. She does not bark unless she hears something suspicious outside. Annie does need a good fenced in yard or she will try to get out and find neighborhood buddies to play with. Annie would make a really wonderful companion and hiking dog. She weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. She is microchipped. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. Adoption fee is waved but the application process is not. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
