He’d be a great addition to a family. Little Magnum was found, abandoned, in a crate, in a field.  He was emaciated but now has recovered beautifully.  He is healthy, happy and resilient. A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Coco. Coco was rescued from St. Thomas while she was pregnant. She was a great mother to six wonderful puppies. She is now ready to find her forever home. Coco is truly an island dog and was considered feral when we rescued her. She is slowly coming around. Coco is very scared and is considered a flight risk. She can walk somewhat on a leash. A fenced yard will be required. It would also be great for her to have a home with another dog, so that she can learn what it’s like to be a normal dog. Coco is considered a project Dog and will need someone with patience and understanding of fearful dogs. Coco is also heartworm positive and will be going through treatment. This is covered by Furkids. If you’re interested, please apply to furkids.org. Coco currently weighs about 19lbs., is almost 4 years old (est. birth date 11/17/2021), and her adoption fee is $315. Coco has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Carter is a precious small breed dog. We rescued his mom from St Thomas prior to her giving birth to these babies. Coco, his mom, weighs 20 pounds. We are not sure what breed these babies are, but what we do know is they are completely adorable!! Carter is very playful and mouthy. He would benefit from a home with another dog and a fenced yard. We are not recommending a home with small children. If you are looking for a small to medium size island dog, this baby would be perfect!! ♥️ Please apply to furkids.org.

Meet Skylah Skylah may be a little shy at first and can be skittish when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she truly blossoms. Once she feels safe and earns your trust, she reveals her sweet soul—she loves affection, pets, and all the attention she can get. She does wonderfully with other dogs and has happily lived alongside a large pack, so she would be a great companion in a multi-dog home. Skylah is both crate trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to the right family. At 13 years young, Skylah is still full of life and joy. She especially loves spending time outdoors, soaking up fresh air and exploring at her own pace. She’s a loving senior with so much affection left to give, just waiting for someone willing to give her a little time and a lot of love. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
