Story
We have had Zena for 6 years and she is a true lovebug. All she wants to do is cuddle! She sleeps most of the day but still enjoys a small walk. She does great on leash and is not reactive. She was adopted from the shelter where she was kept outside for the first part of her life but really enjoys a comfy bed now! She is 8 years old so getting to her elder years and we are so sad to have to rehome. Zena currently lives with a pug spaniel and while 95% of the time she loves him, she has begun not getting along with him, we are unclear on all the triggers and if it starts as playing. We have tried Prozac and working around it but believe she would do better in a home without other pets where she can get all the love. She has never been aggressive towards humans although can be quite bouncy so older kids might be better. She is such a sweet dog, we only hope there’s someone out for her.

Zela is a senior (13 year old) girl who was returned to Furkids after 8 years with her owner who could no longer care for her. Zela is a sweet girl, used to a crate, who can be a bit temperamental (she doesn't like to be picked up) so he’ll do best in a patient home that uses positive reinforcement and doesn’t have small or young children. Zela currently weighs about 22 lbs., (est. birth date 1/14/2013), and his adoption fee is $175. Zela has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Rescued from St. Thomas while pregnant, Coco proved herself to be an amazing mother to six healthy puppies. Now that her babies are grown, she’s ready to find her forever home. Coco is a true island girl.. she came to us feral and is still learning to trust people. She’s very timid and considered a flight risk, so she’ll need a home with a secure fenced yard. Coco can walk on a leash, though slowly, and would thrive in a home with another confident dog to help her learn what it’s like to be a “normal” pup. Coco is a special project dog who will need a patient, understanding adopter experienced with fearful dogs. She’s also heartworm positive, but Furkids will cover her treatment. With time, love, and gentle guidance, Coco has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Coco currently weighs about 19lbs., is about 4.5 years old (est. birth date 11/17/2021), and her adoption fee is $315. Coco has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
