Hi, my name is Mylee and I am from Oklahoma! From her foster: Such a wonderful puppy! So sweet and she's very smart - she picks up tricks and adjusts behavior so quickly as she learns. She knows sit, down, and shake! Loves to play with my resident dog and cat and responds to their body language and cues appropriately, also plays well independently when on her own. A total love bug who likes to be held and snuggled. Typical puppy manners still in progress; mouthiness when excited, some separation anxiety when left alone in her crate, and potty training. All improving day by day and I have no doubts she'll keep learning quickly!

Hi, my name is Prance and I am from Georgia! From his foster: Prance is a sweet, playful boy who loves toys and likes to cuddle up in his bed! He does well with other dogs—he’s especially fond of our resident dog. He is a little timid at first but warms up quickly and has started to find his own personality! He has been doing really well with potty training. He sleeps well in his kennel and absolutely loves playing outside when the weather isn’t super cold. Prance is great with kids and loves our 1 year old son! He would do great with a home that has a yard to play in. He is ready to bring joy, snuggles, and plenty of tail wags to his forever home!

Hi, my name is Vega and I am from Oklahoma. From her foster: Vega is a sweet soul- and she will attach herself to you. She follows me around the whole house and will sit in my lap when I sit. Her favorite is to nap in my armpit- she is a snuggly girl who wants to be close. She is finding her voice and will let you know if you leave her behind. Vega is sporty and has already learned how to go up and down stairs. She is working on potty training and is good at sitting. She is sweet with my 4 year old son and gets along with my two 12lb and smaller chihuahua mixes. She will go in her crate, but she will let you know she would rather be in your arms.

Hi, my name is Hunter and I am from Missouri! My name is Hunter and I am such a gentle lover boy! I know sit, stay, come when I’m called, and play fetch pretty well. I sleep through the night in my crate and like to go in there for naps. I pee or poop every time I go outside, but I still have accidents inside if left alone out of my crate for too long. I’ve been doing very good on a potty schedule though and should break that habit very soon. I love to just melt in your lap for cuddles and give kisses. I love playing with my foster’s dog and my foster’s kitty is teaching me cat boundaries! I am a pretty young dog still but learning quickly every day. I love everyone I meet and I’m ready to find my forever family or person!

I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi, my name is Cyrus and I am from Oklahoma! From his foster: Meet Cyrus, a professional Velcro-dog in training who believes personal space is just a myth! This sweet boy is looking for a home where "cuddling" is a full-time requirement. The Ultimate Sidekick: If you’re moving, he’s moving. He wants to be wherever the people are. Social Expert: He’s mastered the art of living with a "crabby" canine roommate, knowing exactly when to give her space and when to bring the fun. Bouncy Enthusiast: He doesn't just fetch tennis balls; he literally boings after them. A+ Student: While he has those typical puppy urges, he redirects like a pro and is a superstar with potty training on a schedule. Crate & Chill: He might give you a few minutes of "opinionated" feedback when entering his crate, but he settles quickly and sleeps like a dream all night. Cyrus is ready to bring his signature bounce and world-class snuggles to your sofa!

Story
*This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Fanny, whose foster parents are calling her Annie, is a sweet older girl with a calm, gentle, and even-tempered personality. With her low energy level and love of companionship, she’s perfect for someone looking for a relaxed sidekick. Although she lives peacefully with other small dogs in her foster home, she would be fine as the only dog in the home because she enjoys human companionship. Annie enjoys snuggling up next to you on the couch and likes to follow you around to make sure she’s not missing anything! Annie is a happy girl whose tail is always wagging. Annie is leash trained and enjoys taking walks, and she has started showing some interest in exploring toys and tennis balls. She is potty trained and does her business quickly when outside, and she is also trained to use potty pads inside! Annie is generally quiet, but she will bark when first put into her crate when left home alone. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. Annie was found as a stray just before a recent freeze in Texas. Someone had posted asking for help, and thankfully she was rescued in time. She was very underweight when found, and after a vet visit it was discovered she needed to begin heart medication, her foster can tell you more about her heart condition. Since starting her medication, Annie has done has been gaining weight, feeling stronger, and shows no symptoms of her heart condition. She will continue to need heart medication for the remainder of her life. She has a great appetite, and her foster parents are working on putting a few more pounds on her. Annie also has some hearing loss. Annie is sweet gentle older girl who just wants and deserves a safe loving home where she can relax and be cared for. She has been through a lot, and now she’s ready for a stable forever family who will continue giving her the love and medical care she needs. Annie would make a wonderful low-key companion for someone who appreciates a loyal little shadow by their side! She would love a home without young children and where her people are home most of the time. Because of her barking when first left alone, she would not be a candidate for an apartment with shared walls. Even though Annie will require some ongoing heart medication, don’t let that deter you from filling out an application because she still has so much love to give and life to live. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape. —— These special animals are looking for loving homes and dedicated supporters to help them thrive. Whether they have a chronic condition, require ongoing treatment, or need extra attention to stay comfortable, they are just as full of love as any other pet. You can make a difference by adopting one of these amazing animals or setting up a recurring donation to ensure they receive the medical care they need. Every contribution helps give them the second chance they deserve!

Story
Hi, I’m Cookie! 🍪 I’m a sweet, easygoing girl who would fit in just about any home. I’m especially comfortable around smaller dogs, and I really enjoy a calm, cozy environment where I can relax and be close to my people. I’m very smart and have a great daily routine down—I like knowing what to expect! My day usually starts with breakfast, a potty break, and then some playtime with my toys while everyone gets ready. I’m great about spending time in my crate for a few hours, and I love when my people come home for a midday potty break and a little extra attention. Later on, I get to go for a walk (which I really enjoy, especially when the weather is nice!), followed by dinner, more potty time, and then playtime and cuddles before bed. I love toys—especially the small ones I can carry around—and I play nice and gentle. I also have a fun little treat obsession… popcorn is one of my favorites! 🍿 I’m a total cuddle bug and will happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. When it comes to new people, I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up pretty quickly once I feel safe. So far, I’ve only spent time around women, but with a little patience and kindness, I’m sure I can make new friends too. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who enjoys both playtime and snuggles, I just might be your girl! 💕

Story
Lily comes into rescue from a recent breeder release transport. She likely spent her life in a kennel so every day things are all brand new to her. Even with this unknown past, she is very brave and slowly, at her own pace, experiencing all these new things. After a couple of days, she was ready to begin exploring around the house. As she became more comfortable, her confidence grew. Once the weather got a little warmer, I started to take her outside to go potty. We are still working on potty training, but she is doing well. Outside is a big scary place with so many things that are new to her. Every day, she shows just how resilient she is, expanding her area to beyond my yard enjoying all the smells. Lily has adjusted well to a collar, harness and leash. Lily is initially shy and timid but has come to love being held, getting pets, belly rubs and ear scratches. In return, she will give kisses and loves to snuggle in your lap. Lily gets very excited when it is mealtime. She really shows her personality when I am preparing her food. It is so rewarding to see her tail wagging more. She loves to be held and be near her person. When I need to go out, Lily is kenneled. She does very well keeping her kennel clean and is quiet. In the beginning, I kenneled her at night. She would whimper a bit but settled quickly. She has now graduated to sleeping in the bed with me. Lily sleeps through the night snuggled close to me. Lily is looking for a quiet home to spend her golden years. She would probably do well with older, respectful children. Younger kids may be a bit much for her. Currently, she has not met another dog while in foster care. Her current foster home is very quiet where she gets all the attention.
