Story
Jessie is a spunky ball of love and fun! She has lots of energy but does eventually calm down and relax. She is a super playful puppy and will need an active family. She does have the prey drive of a feist terrier so a home with no small animals and cats will be best fit. Come meet jessie today! Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Please share! Betty needs a home! She’s been in rescue since April. Betty would make a great hiking/running partner!! Betty IS GOOD with other dogs, but can be reactive to dogs who challenge her, but not always….she’s a unique dog. She LOVES to play with other dogs. I would not recommend a home with more than 1 other dog because she gets too rambunctious. She would do best with dogs who are submissive though this isn't a hard and fast rule. At her foster home, she had to learn that she was not the top dog! &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143She is the perfect size dog at 25-30 pounds! She is full grown. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143BREED- We were told that Betty's dad is a Mountain Feist/American Coonhound mix and her mom is an Australian Shepherd. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143AGE-estimated DOB 8/18/24 making her about 10 months old. She is house trained and crate trained!! Cats- She met a cat at the vet and was good. She sniffed him as he walked past (the cat ignored her completely). I think she’ll be just fine with cats. ENERGY/PERSONALITY-She is high energy and has what I’d call a little bit of little (wo)man syndrome. At times she barks when she wants something and it may take a little time to quiet her down. She will bark if she wants something/isn't getting what she wants. She'll bark at the other dogs if she wants them to play and they do not want to. Kind of like a kid! The key is to tire her out!! She loves to play with toys and loves to play fetch, though she doesn’t always bring it back. She loves to play with other dogs. A fenced yard will likely be best for her due to her energy and lack of recall, but this can be negotiable depending on the situation. RIDES- Rides were new to her when she came into rescue. She has made great progress! She now seems to enjoy rides but does get a bit nervous. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143LEASH- She walks on a leash and enjoys going for walks but she does pull so that needs to be worked on. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143KIDS- She has been around 13 year olds and a 7 year old and has done well. She seems to really like kids! She does jump when she gets excited. Sometimes if she thinks there is something in my hand that she wants (food, toys) she will jump up and try to grab it from my hand. She can be rough sometimes and just gets overly excited! &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143She is food motivated! She is learning 'sit' and we are working on not jumping which she is getting much better with. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143She loves people and has the adorable wiggle but and tail wag when her people get home from work. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143HER STORY- An elderly person had got Betty from a backyard breeder situation when she was a puppy. They decided Betty was too much for an older person, and put her for free on Facebook. Free puppies is never a good thing, so we stepped in and took her before she ended up in a bad situation or bounced from home to home. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143She is a really cool dog! She could likely do some agility work if someone had the time to work w/ her on it. We have tons more pics and videos! In New England She is spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Sadie is an older pup (age 10 or 11) with a gentle, loving spirit, and she’s been part of our family for a long time. We adopted her from Providence Animal Shelter at least 8 years ago and have cared and loved her since. She needs someone who can be patient, understanding, and offer her a calm, caring environment. She’s sweet, affectionate, and still has so much love to give. She isn’t as active as she used to be and love to lay in her bed.
