Story
Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 27, 2026, 4:32 pm

Sweet Pea is about 8 months old and is a very sweet little girl looking for her forever home. The couple that brought her in said they found her by the hotel where they were staying. She was so very sweet they didn't want anything to happen to her, so they turned her in. She loves her little bed. She is better with older kids rather than smaller ones. She has been fully vetted and is up to date on all shots, spayed and microchipped. She is all set to go home to her new family. Story
Timothy is the best, especially considering the terrible situation he came out of. Left in a filthy trailer with over 20 other dogs, this poor guy did not have a great start. Yet he is so friendly and social and affectionate. He walks as if he is high stepping, and could use some weight, but other than that, he is playful and a real velcro sweetheart. This great little guy is about 7 or 8 years old, and about 20 lbs. Just a wonderful little companion for anyone! A must meet, for he is so cute in person. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions! We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER dogs are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health.  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $695 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)   August 28, 2026, 8:18 am

Alyce is sweet! She's a boston terrier mix who was adopted from a rescue. She entered my life as a puppy some 14 years ago. She's a sweetheart who loves to cuddle and snack. She just needs a home with plenty of love to offer. She's gentle, she likes affection, and doesn't mind lounging around. She's weighs about 20 lbs,, and has never met a treat she didn't like. She also thinks she's cute. (She's right)

Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 27, 2026, 4:32 pm

Story
Artie: A Little Dog With a Whole Lot of Love There is something about Artie that makes you want to scoop him up, hold him close, and promise him that everything is going to be okay.Artie is an almost 6-month-old long-haired Chihuahua who weighs 9.5 pounds, and this handsome little blondie is overflowing with personality. He has the perfect combination of puppy spunk and sass, softened by an enormous capacity for cuddles, affection, and love. He is playful, curious, wonderfully social, and just plain delightful.Artie came to Critter Cavalry Rescue after his family realized that, despite everyone's best intentions, a young puppy was simply more responsibility than their circumstances allowed. His mom was working incredibly long hours to provide for her three children, and although the children had promised to help with the puppy, those promises didn't become reality. When it became clear that Artie needed more time, attention, training, and commitment than the family could provide, his mom did the right thing and asked for help. And that is where Artie's next chapter began.Today, this little boy is fully vetted and ready for a family who understands that puppies are a commitment and who will happily continue helping him become the wonderful adult dog he is destined to be. His biggest lesson right now is continuing his housetraining. Beyond that, he is an absolute joy.Artie has been around both big and small dogs and thinks everyone is a potential playmate. He never seems to have gotten the memo that some dogs might not want to be his best friend, because as far as Artie is concerned, there are no strangers—only friends he hasn't met yet. He has even attended three Puppy Yoga classes with children and adults, giving him wonderful opportunities to experience new people and environments. He is also a seasoned little traveler. Artie does beautifully in the car and isn't an excessive barker. In fact, he is surprisingly selective about what deserves his attention. One of our favorite things about him is his adorable habit of collecting his toys and carrying them back to his dog bed, as though he is carefully putting his little treasures away. And when the day is over, Artie knows how to settle down. He sleeps through the night in bed with his people and can be as quiet and calm as can be. There is something incredibly sweet about watching this energetic little puppy finally curl up beside you and simply enjoy being close. We expect Artie will grow to around 15 pounds, making him a wonderful size for someone looking for a small companion with a big personality. He has good recall, doesn't appear to be a runner, and would love having even a small securely fenced area where he can safely stretch his legs and enjoy some off-leash playtime. What Artie needs now is not just a home. He needs someone committed to finishing what was started for him. Someone dog-savvy who understands that a puppy still has lessons to learn. Someone who will laugh at his puppy antics, appreciate his little quirks, continue his housetraining, and give him the consistency and love that will help him grow into the exceptional dog we know he can be.We absolutely adore this little guy, and we want his next home to be forever.Artie is fostered in Tennessee and is ready to hop on the van and head north to the Northeast. Critter Cavalry Rescue transports every weekend, so his new family may not be as far away as they think. If Artie sounds like the little blondie you've been waiting for, contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more.Artie has already had one change of plans in his young life. Now he deserves the one thing every puppy dreams of: a family who chooses him for keeps.
