Story
https://foha.org/pet/milo2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Milo (pronounced MEE-LO)—a small dog with a big heart! I’m a sweet, speedy little guy who loves both playful adventures and peaceful moments. I have a cute routine of carrying a chew toy in my mouth when I’m getting ready for walks. I enjoy spending time outside soaking up the sun and doing my lightning-fast zoomies. After a fun outing, I’m the perfect co-pilot who curls up and naps in the car. I’m a bit timid at first but eager to connect with my people. I’ve thrived in a home environment and have done well living with other dogs, though I do appreciate breaks from them sometimes. I’m loyal, intelligent, and affectionate—just the right companion for active yet cozy days. And make sure to scroll down past my bio to see all the AMAZING videos my foster mom has posted! You can really see how much I thrive in a home, and maybe it’ll help you see how I could be in your home and heart! HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Good with dogs with proper introductions. I’ve lived with multiple dogs and did great, but I may need patience and breaks from them occasionally. HOW AM I WITH CATS: I am a bit too interested in cats and would do best in a home without feline friends. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Unknown. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Sit, stay, come. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I have good house manners! THINGS I LIKE: Chew toys, sunny yard time, car rides, cuddling, zoomies. THINGS I DISLIKE: Storms, sudden dog encounters in public places. FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS – https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies/ ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet. My adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor!!

Story
Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 21, 2026, 12:57 pm

Story
Rocket Man has been in rescue for quite a long time. Some people think that means there is something wrong with the dog. Not always the case - as with Rocket Man. He is a short, stout fella who loves people. All he wants is to be your buddy - to go on car rides and hikes- and sleep by your side. He has a great personality for being your number 1. He does live with another dog, but he would need to have a meet and greet with any other dogs. Why hasn't he been chosen? We have several ordinary looking dogs who are lingering in rescue. They aren't flashy with beautiful curls or long, fluffy coats and blue eyes. They are just ordinary looking. Don't be fooled by the black or brown dogs. They can be some of the most special personalities out there. All they need is a chance to show off. And that, in a nutshell, is Rocket Man.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Want to meet ME?* Come to our adoption event next weekend: Sunday, July 26th from 2:00-4:00 Vanish Brewery, 42245 Black Hops Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176 We encourage potential adopters to apply ahead of our adoption events so we can begin getting to know you and help assess whether an adoption may be a good match prior to the event. We hope to see you on Sunday!!! *Dog/Cat attendance is not guaranteed. Feel free to text the event coordinator to confirm a specific dog/cat's attendance: 703-447-4766 IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Fern! 🌿🐾 Fern is about 2 years old and weighs 27 pounds—the perfect medium-sized companion. This sweet girl is a little shy at first, but every day she’s becoming a bit braver and letting her gentle personality shine. Fern is the kind of dog who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe. Once she settles in, she’ll happily hang out with her people and enjoy the simple things in life—like relaxing nearby, exploring the yard, and following her dog friends around. Because she’s still building confidence, Fern will need a home with another young and confident dog who can show her the ropes and help her feel secure. Having a dog buddy really helps her come out of her shell. Fern hasn’t lived with children in her foster home, and since she can be timid, we think she would do best in a home with respectful kids ages 11 and up who understand that she may need a little time to warm up. With patience, love, and a friendly dog companion, Fern will blossom into a wonderful and loyal little friend. 🌼 Fern is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, and she’s ready to find the calm, loving home she deserves. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
