Story
A 2-year-old, 36-pound mix of Feist and Terrier, Lulu came to us from a hoarding situation. She's a lovely dog with a sweet personality who, upon first meeting can be shy, but will warm up quickly. She loves being stroked and loved; in fact, she's very affectionate. We think she's grateful that we brought her into rescue with us. She's been treated for heartworm and is ready to go home with you! How about it? Show her what a real home is like! (posted 12/29/25, ME) NO CATS, PLEASE. Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **January 17, 2026, 5:30 pm

Story
https://foha.org/pet/milo2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Milo (pronounced MEE-LO)—a small dog with a big heart! I’m a sweet, speedy little guy who loves both playful adventures and peaceful moments. I have a cute routine of carrying a chew toy in my mouth when I’m getting ready for walks. I enjoy spending time outside soaking up the sun and doing my lightning-fast zoomies. After a fun outing, I’m the perfect co-pilot who curls up and naps in the car. I’m a bit timid at first but eager to connect with my people. I’ve thrived in a home environment and have done well living with other dogs, though I do appreciate breaks from them sometimes. I’m loyal, intelligent, and affectionate—just the right companion for active yet cozy days. And make sure to scroll down past my bio to see all the AMAZING videos my foster mom has posted! You can really see how much I thrive in a home, and maybe it’ll help you see how I could be in your home and heart! HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Good with dogs with proper introductions. I’ve lived with multiple dogs and did great, but I may need patience and breaks from them occasionally. HOW AM I WITH CATS: I am a bit too interested in cats and would do best in a home without feline friends. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Unknown. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Sit, stay, come. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I have good house manners! THINGS I LIKE: Chew toys, sunny yard time, car rides, cuddling, zoomies. THINGS I DISLIKE: Storms, sudden dog encounters in public places. FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS – https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies/ ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet. My adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor!!

Story
Meet Tilly &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 This sweet girl was purchased from a breeder to hunt squirrels, but despite her Mountain Feist lineage, she WASN’T a natural hunter with a strong prey drive. When she wouldn’t bark at treed squirrels, she was deemed unfit for hunting.  Tilly spent her early life as a hunter’s dog, living in an outdoor kennel with concrete floors and a wooden box for shelter, never knowing the comforts of home or what it meant to be part of a family. Thankfully, one of our volunteers knew the hunter and stepped in to secure Tilly’s safety. Over the past 6 weeks, Tilly’s world has completely transformed. She’s now living in a warm foster home with Hannah and her two dogs. She integrated easily, follows her foster siblings everywhere, and learns by watching them. In the beginning, she was a bit protective of her crate space, likely a remnant from her past life. As she’s settled in and learned she’s safe, she’s let go of behaviors tied to her past life outside. Tilly was shy at first, but she’s truly blossomed. She now seeks out affection, follows her foster mom around, and has been wonderful with guests. She’s sweet, friendly, and comfortable meeting new people. Though indoor life was new to her (mirrors, TVs, and dishwashers were scary at first), she’s made huge strides in confidence. She now happily snuggles on the couch, sleeps under the covers, gives the sweetest kisses, and lives for head scratches. Tilly has a medium energy level. She enjoys running around the yard but is laid-back and calm in the house. She is crate-trained, and her crate is her safe space. She’s making good progress with potty training; she knows she’s supposed to go outside, but is still learning how to signal her foster mom. She’s also doing well on leash; she may pull initially, but she corrects quickly. She will watch squirrels closely, but doesn’t try to chase. She’s just aware.  Tilly has discovered what it means to feel safe and loved, and she’s blossoming more every day. She has done well as part of a pack but would also be fine as an only dog. She has not shown any food or treat guarding; however, she can be protective of toys and tends to hoard them. She’s new to having belongings of her own and is still learning how to share appropriately. Overall, Tilly is a pretty easy pup. She’s sweet as can be and adapting well to her new life.  Apply today! Story
This amazing house gremlin is ready for the perfect forever home. Roberto is a cuddle bug ALWAYS wanting to be held and snuggled. He would prefer to be an only dog but loves all humans although young children and quick movements scare him. He goes potty outside but for being an 18 year old gentleman holding his bladder is difficult and accidents should be expected. If you have the time and energy for this senior baby he will not disappoint.Interested in adopting?
