Hi, Nola is one year old as of July 28! She is very sweet and playful, she is also good with kids. Nola’s mom is a golden retriever and her dad is a flat coat lab. Nola had no formal training but she is a very good listener and eager to make her people happy. She is also crate trained and sleeps in her crate happily. Nola does have separation anxiety and does better with an owner who is home often or has another dog to keep her company. We abruptly had to move out of our house because the homeowners are choosing to sell the house we were renting and we are in a very small space without a yard, given these circumstances we don’t feel this is the ideal home for Nola anymore. We are heartbroken but hoping that we can find a new and more accommodating home for her.

Beautiful Flat Coated RetrieverAll dogs are located in foster homes in southeast Arizona. They are between Benson and Willcox just south of Interstate 10. We are approximately 2 and 1/2 hours from Tempe and 1 hour east of Tucson. Libby is a wonderful, beautiful friendly Flat Coated Retriever mix, we are not sure what she is mixed with. Libby was picked up as a stray by the county animal control. She was a volunteer favorite and they asked Fedwell Farm to help her. Libby is approximately 6 years old and weighs 78 pounds. She could probably lose a few pounds. Libby is a bit shy and could use some leash manners. She is smart and an absolutely wonderful girl. Jessie was picked up as a stray so we don't have any background information on her. She looks a lot like a flatcoated retriever and acts a lot like one. She is very athletic, loves to runs and play and is very good with other dogs as long as they are not too overbearing with her. She will submit to them and then defend herself if pushed too far, not inappropriately, she just draws a line for them as to where is too much. She is very sweet with people and would likely make a very good dog for older children that are big enough to handle all her energy. She loves her treats and belly rubs. Not sure how she would be with cats, I am sure she would chase them if they ran, that would be an awesome game for her. Hailey has been with us since Feb 2023. A post of her, blew up on social media after someone came across the property. She had a large, open, grapefruit-sized mass hanging from her body that wasn't being treated! She was on a farm in rural California. Our founder just happened to be driving through CA to transport an adopted dog. She arrived at the property, offered to take her, and they said yes! They also gave us her daughter who had a mass on her mouth... The mass on Hailey was an aggressive form of cancer. After surgery and treatment, she has been in remission since July of '23! She's the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Good with dogs, cats, and people! She's affectionate and active. Loves walks, hikes, and even trotting next to a bike! Interested in Hailey? Story

Mario is a very good dog with an incredibly sweet disposition. He’s got a good deal of flat-coated retriever in him, and I’d guess a bit of shepherd as well. He has some arthritis in his back legs and takes medication which help him tons and keep him very nicely mobile. He loves taking long walks with our dog and is extremely well behaved on the leash. He has learned his new name along with a few other commands over the couple of weeks that we’ve been fostering him. He has been an absolute sweetheart with us, our teenager and our dog. He’s also done wonderfully with our backyard chickens - he is very calm, gentle, and slow around the coop. He was also a superstar at our New Year’s Eve party. He loved greeting all of our guests and soaking up as many head scratches as folks could dole out! The only physical challenges that we’ve seen Mario have so far are multiple stairs (a couple are no problem) and getting into the car (because of his back legs). Mario was a little overly enthusiastic to meet the cat at first, but has since calmed down around him and is making improvements every day.
