Story
If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Blaze is the pup you want to have around! Sweet Blaze, at approximately 18 months old and 39 lbs is just naturally a lover. When he looks at you with those gorgeous dark eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Blaze is a beautiful and sweet as can be Flat Coated Retriever / Golden Retriever mix (as identified by Texas veterinarians..all we know for certain is that this guy is irresistible!) with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes. Farfel's Rescue received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Houston to save Blaze's life. He was scheduled for immediate euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described this gorgeous dog as wonderful with a very sweet temperament once he's comfortable in his environment. Blaze's story is a heartbreaking one. He was tied to a tree and abandoned in the searing Houston heat without water or food. It was immediately clear to a passerby that Blaze was a very sweet boy that was caught in awful circumstances. He was rescued by animal control and brought to a high-kill shelter. One day later Blaze was scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. Our sweet Blaze is now safe and sound preparing for his freedom ride to Boulder. His Texas foster has found out that Blaze (once comfortable) is a cuddler and snuggler all the way! He loves to cuddle close on the couch for TV watching, or just hanging out with his favorite people is just about perfect for this loyal best friend. An occasional kiss from Blaze, once comfortable in his new environment, is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very kind dog who derives so much joy from his time spent with his favorite people and doggy friends. Blaze is a young, playful and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He also enjoys other gentle dogs to play with... and then lying together in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day is perfect. Blaze will have so much fun exploring and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities...just say the word and up Scout jumps for a car ride, a fun backyard game or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood. Blaze's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet guy: Blaze is a very gentle and sweet guy who has had a tough go of it. But through it all, he's maintained his positive attitude. He's great with dogs and humans, likes to play and is working on his bravery after being abandoned and relinquished to an overcrowded high-kill shelter. Blaze's foster bragged the following about Blaze: This gorgeous and sweet as can be Flat Coated Retriever is an affectionate and loving dog that is working on leaving his sad past behind. We would love to see Blaze in a home with active dog-loving retirees who can provide this sweetie with all the love and kindness he's missed in this life. A younger family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) that works from a home-based office would also be great for sweet Blaze. He'd be ecstatic with the periodic hugs, loving and time that this lifestyle offers. We'd hate to see Blaze left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Blaze will thrive on spending time near his people getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Blaze in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog and it's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt Blaze out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Blaze will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming..approximately every two to three months or so as well as excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft, super-healthy and matte-free. Blaze has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis in the canine population. Blaze will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/26//2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Blaze please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event: https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are mixed breeds. We never guarantee the size, breed, or temperment of any of our puppies.  ##2061560##
