Story
Hi there, I'm Luka! I am an 8-year-old male Flat Coat Retriever/ Chocolate Lab mix who weighs 40 lbs. I was surrendered to RAC due to my owner no longer being able to care for me. I am now hoping to find my FURever home! I am a very sweet boy that does enjoy play time as much as a good nap on the couch. I am crate trained and leashed trained. I previously shared a home with other dogs however, if you have other dogs in the home, a meet and greet is always suggested prior to adoption. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccine and basic boosters. I did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to receive treatment at little to no cost to my adopter. Feel free to ask RAC staff if you have any questions about heartworms or my treatment plan. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please submit an adoption application for me at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 27, 2024, 7:04 pm

Story
Maddy is an 8 year old, 64 lb Flat Coat Retriever mix. For those who aren't familiar with this breed, they are one of the sweetest natured, friendliest dogs around. She was living the good life, but sadly, her person passed away. Maddy was a wonderful companion to her. She is very well behaved, housebroken, sleeps on her doggie bed at night, and sometimes will play with a toy. She loves belly rubs! She also enjoys being outside in the yard when weather permits. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home. Maddy has nice leash manners and enjoys walks around the neighborhood. She is friendly with all people and dogs that she meets along the way. Maddy qualifies for our senior discount adoption fee of $125. The first step to meeting sweet Maddy is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
We got Piper in 2016. She was a rescue so we don't know her breed/mix. She was found in abandon field in Arkansas and our friends fostered her. We went to visit them one day and Piper followed our son everywhere. We ended up bringing her home. Our son has Autism and she was a great friend and emotional support animal for him. we LOVE her to pieces. Our son is off to college soon and Piper needs to be played with. I work full time and attend school full time, my husband travels for work. Piper has been an inside dog but we have family in the country. SHE LOVES being outside, but hates water. She loves to play with her squishy toys and snuggle. Giving her up kills us but she needs to be with a family that has younger kinds and a yard to run free. She is very food motivated and love anything she can get. No allergies to meds or foods. She does have Cushing's so she has medication twice a day. We have her cot, toys, bowls, food, kennel gate and every medical / shot record

Story
Hailey was adopted years ago by a friend of mine when she was 4 years old. Hailey is now about 10 years old. My friend moved out of the country and she asked if I could care for Hailey. I have been caring for Hailey for the past year but it has become to much for me to handle. I have a very busy schedule with two kids that are very active. I'm also in the middle of selling my house and relocating and I can't care for her any longer. Hailey is a good dog, with lots of energy. She has always been good around other dogs and cats. She is house trained, crate trained, and pretty good on a leash. She is very protective of the house and will bark at anybody that comes to the door. She is a very friendly dog and I haven't had any incidents with Hailey. Hailey is very anxious when it comes to storms or bad weather. She likes to be wherever her owner is during storms. Hailey would make for a great dog for somebody that has the time to spend with her, she listens and wants to please her owner.
