Story
Meet Sadie, the sweetest big baby you will ever meet. Sadie is a 9 year old Flat Coated Retriever with a shiny black coat, soulful eyes, and a heart that just wants to be loved. Her favorite thing in the world is a belly rub and she will happily soak up pets for as long as you are willing to give them. Sadie has a large cyst on her left back side that is currently being monitored by her veterinarian and does not cause her pain. She is spayed and up to date on her rabies vaccination. Sadie is a relaxed girl who enjoys sleeping and lounging during the day and becomes more alert and active in the evenings. She loves spending time outside simply watching what is going on around her and is extremely treat motivated, often waiting patiently for a snack or dropped food. Sadie should be the only pet in the home, as she does not do well with other dogs or animals. She is affectionate with people once she has had a moment to sniff and get comfortable and she thrives on companionship and attention. An ideal home for Sadie would be with someone who enjoys a calm routine, has no other pets, and can give her lots of affection. Sadie is house trained and leash trained and does best with a confident handler who can manage her on walks around other animals. She is a smart girl who responds well to treats and positive reinforcement. I am rehoming Sadie due to changes in my time and financial capacity and not because of anything she has done wrong. Sadie is loving, gentle, and full of heart, and she deserves a home where she can be someoneâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s whole world. Sadie is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves attention and physical closeness. She enjoys relaxing and sleeping during the day and tends to be more alert and active in the evenings. She loves spending time outside simply watching the world go by. She is very treat motivated and can be a bit of a beggar, often waiting patiently for dropped food or a snack. Sadie absolutely adores belly rubs and being petted. She seeks out affection and often acts like a big baby. She may whine at times when she is not receiving attention, as she thrives on companionship and reassurance because of her PTSD. Due to moving, I will be unable to care for her to the best of her needs.

Story
🐾 Meet Millie – The Sweetest Girl Looking for Love! 🐾 Millie is a chameleon. She can look soft and squishy, or she can look calm and aloof. The one thing that is constant is what a special, loving girl she is. She looks at her foster parents with love in her eyes all the time, that when her face softens and a sereness comes over her. She is a delight, she is gentle and sweet but you can tell this one loves deeply when she feels safe. Millie is 48 lbs, loves to play especially in water. She is intrigued by animals on TV and will focus in every time that is playing. She loves everyone she meets—kids, big dogs, little dogs—you name it! I just have so much love to give and can’t wait to find a family who will love me back. So why am I looking for a new home? Well, my owner’s boyfriend’s dog didn’t like me and wasn’t very nice to me. My owner made the tough decision to let me go because she knew it was for the best. And you know what? That means I now have the chance to find a family who will love me as much as I love them! I’m about 49 pounds, petite but full of personality! This sweet girl is much smaller than she looks, crate trained, potty-trained and good with other pups and children. Millie has lived with a child in a wheelchair and does just fine! Millie is about a year old and finds herself in an unexpected position. And its better for Millie to be in a home she can thrive in. She is medium sized, house and crate trained and while she still pulls on her leash, walking manners are improving quickly. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Introducing Coco Mann, a handsome 5-year-old boy weighing in at 76 pounds. Coco may be a little nervous when meeting new people, but he truly thrives in the company of someone who is home often or has another dog companion. We have found that apartment living may not be the best fit for him, as he benefits from having someone around to spend time with. Coco's journey began when he was found in the outside kennels of the Fort Worth shelter during a time when they were asking dogs to be moved due to frigid temps. Recognizing the need for immediate help, we took him into our boarding facility for temporary housing. However, after seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we couldn't bear to send him back to the shelter. With open hearts, we made the decision to bring Coco into our rescue, where he now awaits his forever home. Since arriving in our rescue, Coco has shown us what a great dog he is. Currently living in a foster home with other dogs, Coco may feel a bit nervous around little children due to their fast movements. However, in new settings, his disposition is adorable, submissive, and happy. With time and patience, he continues to gain confidence and is now thriving on the leash. Walking beside you, Coco has become quite the pro! Coco is a couch potato by nature, but when it's playtime, he will entertain himself endlessly with a toy. He loves tossing it up in the air and engaging in playful antics. Additionally, he has shown good compatibility with cats, although proper introductions are highly recommended as each cat's personality is unique. While we're uncertain about how Coco would do with young children due to his nervous nature, we believe he would be just fine with bigger kids over the age of five. His loving and good-looking demeanor makes him an ideal companion for a family ready to give him the chance he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate buddy, Coco is waiting to steal your heart. Don't hesitate to reach out and give this deserving pup a forever home filled with love and understanding. #AdoptCocoMann #RescueDog #ForeverHomeNeeded All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
If you’re looking for a pre-trained, young adult dog we hope you will consider Esperanza (aka Essie), who has been waiting a year for a family of her own! We will be honest — we don’t know anything about Essie’s early life, but we can infer that it didn’t include a lot of loving care from people before she and her puppies were found in a garage in South Texas. Essie was terrified by the time she made it to Dallas, and like the smart girl she is, she was very wary of new people and places. (She had zero reason to think that a van ride to Dallas was going to end well for her!) Essie’s babies were quickly adopted, and over the past year she has made INCREDIBLE progress thanks to a very patient foster who has taught her that we humans aren’t all a bunch of jerks, and life in a house can be great! These days Essie likes to play with toys, wrestle with her canine foster siblings, and is very affectionate once she’s decided that you’re worthy. She is also house trained, and knows basic obedience commands. Living with Essie will be pretty easy, her crate is her Zen Den and she will need it in her home for sleeping and when there are new people or lots of commotion in the house. Although she’s made great strides in the past year, she’s not yet ready to join your book club or Christmas party, and we think that is perfectly acceptable for a dog whose life started out pretty bad. We’d like to see Essie join a home with another dog, so she can keep building her confidence and wrestling prowess, and with a human who understands the importance of continuing Essie’s socialization.
