Story
Beautiful Ember is a very affectionate, quirky girl who adores belly rubs. Ember does the most silly thing of running in between your legs demanding butt scratches. She is the perfect mix between a firecrackers one second and a couch potato the next! She will be happy sleeping on a couch or curling into bed with you. She's not a fan of the crate, but she will do well being left out with her toys. Ember is potty trained and will sometimes whimper to go outside so you know what she needs. She is very food motivated and has room to grow with any training techniques. Ember would be the perfect dog for a active family lifestyle who takes break watching movies on the couch where she can scooch in and get a head scratch. Ember would need to be introduced slowly with big dogs as she can be nervous at first, but if the vibe is good they will become the best of friends. She does request to fed separately always (including treats), so that there's no confusion as to what's hers. With smaller dogs she favors the ones who are less active and older best. She is not a fan of the little hyper ones. Start the conversation by applying to adopt Ember here: https://forgottencoastanimalrescue.org/adoption-app

Story
Meet Rossi! He has been waiting for his family since 2017! This young adult boy is ready to join your active lifestyle.  He had a tough start in his life, vet said that he had a broken leg at some point, but you would never know it.  He is extremely happy and so loving.  Rossi has basic obedience training and is already house and crate trained.  If you are looking for a handsome running companion -- he, is it!!  Rossi currently lives with other dogs, but he would be best as a solo dog as he takes time to warm up to other 4-legged friends.  He loves attention and is selective as to who he shares it with. Why would he not— look at him, a ladies' man for sure!   Rossi's  adoption fee is $100 in Houston, Tx or I can be transported for $350 out of state, which includes neuter, current vaccinations, health certificate, transport fees and microchip. He is heartworm negative.  Apply to adopt  him at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=DCMHRQZTOctober 3, 2023, 9:59 pm

Story
***On our current PUSH List***Alice is fun-loving and silly. She brings the party with her everywhere she goes! She`s a 2Y old Staffordshire with a unique looking coat. It`s a very vivid brindle. The effect is gorgeous! Alice would thrive in a home without small children and without other dogs.Alice came into the shelter as a stray from Fresno in November of 2021. She`s always been easily excited…but as I`m sure you can imagine after being in shelter for months she gets extra excited when people come to visit. Anyone walking through our kennels could wind up adopting her, so she wants to make sure she gets seen! Unfortunately, Alice doesn`t understand that her jumping up and down in her kennel makes her look a little intimidating. She`s not though!!! Alice has lots of energy for running around. She`s very playful! She does still need to learn that jumping up on people in her playful excitement is rude…but she`s just so happy to have someone there to play with! She`s totally willing to work on that. After she`s had the chance to get rid of some of her extra energy Alice is a lot calmer and ready to settle in for some pets. She`s also 100% happy to accept any and all treats!

Story
Gia doesn`t seem to have spent much time around people before and was very scared and nervous when she first came into the shelter. We`ve been working with her and are slowly showing her that humans are her friends. She`s already come so far - we`re so proud of her! She`s still wary of people and tries to back away from them at first, but if you`re gentle and patient and go slowly with her she`ll let you pet and touch her now. You can tell she has no idea what to make of the gesture , and she`s very nervous about it. Despite her fear she`s never shown any signs of aggression. We`re also working with her on the leash - she`ll let you put it on now, but has no idea what she`s supposed to do after that, and she`s too nervous to walk on it. She still doesn`t feel comfortable taking treats from your hand, but you can bet as soon as you leave her kennel she`s eating them. She loves treats! Gia is thriving in her current short term foster home. Her leash skills are improving, and she has started trusting her fosters enough to take treats from their hands. She`s living well with other dogs and is slowly gaining confidence!
