Story
Meet Geoffrey, 💙 a nearly 1-year-old Foxhound mix with a gorgeous face and sweet eyes. This charming pup is amazing with other dogs, good with chickens and cats, and adores kids. Geoffrey is extremely calm, house-trained, and loves carrying his favorite toys around. While he may need a bit more practice on a leash and in a car, he's fine at daycare and is nondestructive. The only requirement is that he has another dog to show him the ropes. Geoffrey is super low maintenance, capturing the hearts of everyone he meets with his friendly nature. He enjoys making friends with new dogs and puppies, loves to play, and can't resist a good belly rub! Consider bringing this lovable companion into your home. Story
Meet Henry, 💙 this beautiful boy made it to us by a twist of fate. His brothers and family were rescued over a year ago, but he was left behind. He was being fed by a homeowner in rural Alabama, but unfortunately, the man died recently, which made good Samaritans able to get him and bring him to us. His four brothers, were adopted out over a year ago. In the few weeks that we have had Henry he has truly blossomed. He has been less shy of hands, touches and pets and follows you around closely. He was neutered, and by a miracle, heartworm negative, completely up-to-date and on preventative. He loves to play and needs another dog to show him the ropes and could give him confidence. He’s extremely playful, submissive, and sweet. Henry is ready to be in a home where he has loved unconditionally, and will become man’s best friend! Story
Hi! I'm Tootie, a 1.5-year-old female hound mix. I'm about 43 pounds and am up to date on all my vaccinations. I am playful and affectionate. I love giving kisses to everyone I meet! I'm great with dogs and love going to the dog park and daycare. I'd love to have another dog to play with me in my new house, but would be fine alone as long as you're around to play with me. My previous family loved me very much, but unfortunately I didn't get along well with their kitten. As a hound, I'm very prey-driven and like to chase cats and small animals. They're heartbroken to see me go but know I deserve a home where I can be my happy-go-lucky self! I hope it won't be long before I find my forever family. I'm available through Kitty Connection in Medford.

Weeman has good house manners, and is mostly house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. Story
Our pup Lavender is a petite cutie that we think may be a mix of Hounds. Her Mama, Enjolie was found as a country stray in North Carolina, where she spent a few days in an underfunded rural shelter. Despite a massive push to transport Enjolie to our Canterbury, Connecticut Rescue before her whelping date, Enjolie had 9 puppies in the Shelter on 2/24/24. Enjolie has a gentle temperament and outgoing personality that she has passed on to her adorable puppies. She appears to be an American Foxhound, and her puppies look like tricolor Treeing Walker Coonhounds. We have DNA tested the puppies, and should have results soon. Puppies are likely to be large dogs, 40 to 50 pounds. Now seven weeks old, Lavender is a total sweetheart, with a neutral temperament. She loves all people, and has sailed through the rescue process with a healthy curiosity about new people and situations. Lavender plays gently with other dogs, and would thrive in a multi-dog home, with other gentle, playful dogs.  As a working breed, Hounds need a good deal of exercise and mental stimulation to maintain good behavior. Lavender does not have over the top puppy energy, but she does need a couple brisk leash walks each day to get her yayas out.  Lavender would be an excellent choice for an experienced puppy-savvy adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. She would do well with an active couple or family with older kids, who can play gently with a young dog. We think Lavender could be easily raised with cats.  So far we have seen a sweet personality and balanced temperament in Lavender and we seek an adopter willing to raise her as a Canine Good Citizen. She is in excellent health, and has been vaccinated as appropriate for her age. Lavender and her siblings will be ready to go to their new homes on 5/11/24 at 12 weeks old. If you are interested in Lavender, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
