Story
Meet Henrietta! Miss Henry is 35lb., female, Hound mix. She is fully Vetted., crate and potty trained, and walks well on leash. She loves other dogs and I would recommend a home that already has (at least) one dog, if not more. She is fine with cats. Children need to mind their P’s and Q’s with her only because chaos frightens her. Henry, Henrietta was found running around in backyards and a huge pond area for weeks. This girl kept me running up to Huber Hts. every night for two weeks working on gaining her confidence. Poor baby was scared of her own shadow and that hasn’t improved much. She will need an adopter with a great deal of patience and understanding but the love is well worth the wait. She is scared of sudden movements, loud noises and abhors any change in her routine, once you have one established. Miss Henry will need a home with a fenced yard. Having said all that, Henrietta is a complete love, once she trusts you. She has the softest fur and is the most beautiful fawn color. This baby will be hard to part with and I will be extremely picky when it comes to choosing her furever home, she will come to you carrying a piece of my heart but she needs a family to call her very own, is that your family? Story
Feb 24: Fern has been in rescue since 2021! She needs a home! She needs 6' fencing and a playmate. She is now almost 5 years old and has calmed down quite a bit. She loves toys and laying in the sun. She is crate and house trained. She runs laps in the yard and then hangs out. Fern still needs some leash work, but she does walk on a leash. She does fabulous at Lowes and Home Depot on her weekend outing. She knows no strangers and gets wiggly with new people. Feb 22: All Fern's hair is back! she looks great. She is a happy girl who loves to stay active, she does best with bigger dogs and is a big player. She would do best in an active family, with a fenced yard and playmate. She will be a great family member. Fern is from a shelter in KY. She was being treated for mange. All her treatments are complete and her hair is growing back!! Feb 21: Fern is a sweet active girl who loves to romp with other dogs. She does play rough so no lightweights. She is crate trained and has had no accidents in the house. She is approx. 2 years old. She does REQUIRE A PHYSICAL FENCE. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com), 937-321-6356 for more information about this pet.Poor Betty Boop has had sooo many shares but still no interest! This poor girl has had it so rough before we got her. She had pneumonia and a severe infection from over breeding. She is healthy and good to go now! She is 5 years old, housebroken, loves toys and snuggling. Her only downfall is she is dog particular. She is currently in a home with other dogs but when her foster went on vacation it took her the whole week to settle down in her other foster home. She may be best as an only dog but we will make exceptions for someone with hound experience who is COMMITTED to working with her and giving her time. She is located in the Dayton area and her adoption fee is $250. Please apply at ohiobassetrescue.com and email ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com is already approved in the last 6mo.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 3:29 pm

Tuffy is doing great with her treatment and the hope is she will be ready for adoption early July. Thank you for your continued support!   Feb 16 update: Tuffy is currently in a foster home close to our Columbus vet. She will still continue HW treatment under our care until her vetting is complete. We would consider her for adoption only under the circumstances that she is adopted close to our vet and in a home ideal for recovery. Otherwise she will not he made available for several months until she is completely healthy. ****** Sweet Tuffy is a special needs girl at the moment, and needs a CALM and QUIET home! She is currently at our vet in Columbus and needs a foster and/or forever home! We are willing to so a foster to adopt on Tuff due to her Heartworm treatment plan. Tuff came to OBHR in bad shape. Dehydrated, diarrhea, bad teeth and ears, but as soon as she started to perk up we found out she was heartworm positive.  Her HW treatment has begun and she is in need of a calm place to live while she is on the road to recovery. Because she will need to be seen by our vet in Columbus we need someone who will be able to bring her back to our vet to continue her treatments every several weeks at our cost. Once her HW treatments are passed and she is given the green light we will also do her dental and spay. Her next time needing to come back to our vet will be March 31.  Tuff is a sweet senior girl who needs a second chance at life. She is good with other dogs and kids, older kids only please due to her needing to be calm and quiet, but she is NOT good with cats or small animals.  If you can give Tuff a safe quiet place to recoup or to live out her life please apply at ohiobassetresuce.com and when approved email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Her adoption fee is $200. (much less than her vet bills!)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 3:29 pm
