Story
Behaviors observed by this animal leads us to state the following:Buzz is a small Frenchie mix with a big heart hidden beneath layers of fear and uncertainty. Life hasn’t always been kind to this sweet boy, and as a result, he startles easily—loud noises, sudden movements, or unfamiliar environments can leave him trembling. But behind those wide, worried eyes is a gentle, sensitive spirit just waiting for the right person to help him heal. Buzz takes his time when it comes to trust. He’s not the type to run up and greet you at the door—but give him time, patience, and space, and he’ll quietly start to show you how much he wants to be loved. Each small step he takes toward connection is a victory, and you’ll feel proud watching him grow a little braver every day. He’s looking for a calm, quiet home with someone who understands that healing isn’t linear. Buzz doesn’t need grand gestures—just consistency, compassion, and a whole lot of patience. He may never be the life of the party, but in the right home, he will be someone’s loyal, loving shadow. Are you the kind soul who can give Buzz the steady, safe world he’s never had? He may take a while to warm up, but once he does, your bond will be one of quiet understanding and deep trust. Story
Animated Zoey would like to work her way into your heart! She is a charming 2-year-old, 20-pound, French Bulldog. She is a compact beauty and has a very sweet face that will melt your heart!. Zoey loves people and enjoys exploring the outdoors—whether it’s a neighborhood walk or a new trail in the wilderness on a cool day. She is very independent and will be great as an only dog. She seems to be housebroken and is using the Doggie Door making her a great, low-maintenance companion. So if you have breed experience and are ready to give a special girl a second chance. French Bulldogs like other brachycephalic dogs (Flat faced dogs) have an increased risk of heat-related illness (such as heat stress and heat stroke), which can have life threatening consequences. Shorter walks at the coolest part of day are needed. Zoey is scheduled to be spayed, is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! If you’re looking for a loving and adventurous furry friend, Zoey might just be the perfect match! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
This funny pup is named Theodore. He was born 1/2/2025 and originally came to our shelter with 2 littermates. He looks to be a pug that got mixed up with a large breed dog - very unique and nothing we've seen before! He looks like someone hit the "randomizer" option when building this boy. :) He has grown to a hefty 45 lbs, but still remains quite short and stocky. We know someone's out there who would love to be a giant pug! He was adopted as a pup, and unfortunately didn't receive the proper housetraining required for a puppy, so he still is working on that. He is back with us due to his family not being able to provide the proper care and training, as they did not have the time. He spent all his alone time in a crate, so we hope to find a home where he doesn't have to be in one again, and he receives the attention he deserves. He has many good marks on his record that they learned while he was in their home - he is a lovely, social boy who gets along with everyone, and he has many good experiences playing with other dogs his size. He loves a good car ride, and he enjoys a little off-leash running time at the local dog park. He is great on leash for walks as well. His favorite activities include playing fetch, snuggling with his people, and playing with rope toys. Though his training isn't complete, he has been taught commands such as "sit," "lie down," and "paw." $350.00 adoption fee for this great boy. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Apply for him today at www.petsnpals.org to schedule a meet and greet for him! Story
This handsome boy is Bonsai! He's a young pup based on his teeth, so we estimated him to be around 10 months old, and he weighs 16 pounds. He's an interesting mixed-breed pup that looks like someone placed a pug head on a Jack Russell body! Bonsai was found by a kind person working in the area who brought him to us so he could have a safe place to stay. He has already shown his gentle nature; his temporary finder noted he got along well with their medium-sized dog. He also seems to be a pro at road trips, as he rides very well in the car. Since we just met him, we are unsure about his history with housetraining, cats, or young children, but his easygoing demeanor suggests he is ready to learn and adapt to his new environment. He is pretty vocal, so apartment-dwellers may not appreciate his songs. Bonsai is currently on a mandatory stray hold until December 5th. This allows time for his original owners to come forward. If his owners do not come forward by that date, he will be prepared for adoption (including being neutered) and ready to find his perfect family! If you are interested in giving this deserving pup a new beginning, please go to petsnpals.org to apply for him and we can schedule a meet-and-greet. $350 adoption fee.
