Story
**Big Tank is currently in boarding (through no fault of his own) and needs a foster or adopter as soon as possible! All Better World Rescue intake is closed until we can get Big Tank out of boarding** Meet Tank, a short, squishy-faced senior bulldog mix with a heart as big as his adorable blocky head. He’s a low-energy sweetheart who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, taking naps, and soaking up all the affection he can get. Tank adores people—every single one of them—and he does the cutest little tippy tappies when he sees you have treats. He’s also wonderful with kids and would make a loving, gentle companion for a family. Tank prefers not to share his space with large dogs, though he may do well with small dogs after a slow introduction, and he may also be okay with dog-savvy cats. He rides calmly in the car and is about as easygoing as they come. He has been let down more times than any dog should endure. Tank was first placed on the euthanasia list at Manteca Shelter, then adopted, then rehomed, and eventually ended up at Stanislaus Shelter, where he again faced euthanasia. He went to a foster home but recently lost that placement through no fault of his own due to landlord issues, and he is now in boarding. Through every setback, Tank has remained gentle, loving, and hopeful. He’s ready for a calm, caring home where he can finally enjoy the stability and love he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal couch buddy and a sweet senior who will make your home warmer just by being in it, Tank is ready to meet you. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. Tank is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you would like to meet Tank to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will reach out within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet & greet. If you are interested in fostering Tank, please fill out this application instead: www.betterworldrescue.org/foster-application

Story
Meet Truffle Shuffle! Who could resist this little butterball?? Truffle is a 6-year-old bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s full of character—your classic bulldog girl through and through. At first, Truffle can be timid and a little skittish with new people, but with a bit of patience, she warms up quickly. Once you’re in her circle, she’ll want nothing more than to be by your side and soak up all the love and pets you can give. (Boundaries? She’s not too familiar with that word! ?) Truffle does well with most dogs, especially calmer males, but she likes to be the queen of the house. Slow intros are the way to go to make sure she acclimates smoothly to a new environment and with other dogs. Good with cats too! She is not a good fit for homes with small children. When Truffles was first rescued from the shelter, she was in rough shape—painful ear infections, bad skin, eye infections, and struggling to breathe. She’s had two major airway surgeries (common in flat-faced breeds like bulldogs), along with her spay, and is now feeling so much better. Truffles is also slowly going blind and will require lifelong eye medication to keep her comfortable. It’s important to know that bulldogs and other brachycephalic dogs need extra care, especially in the heat. They are not outdoor dogs, and families must be aware of the lifelong commitment their health can require. Want to meet Truffles? Please fill out an adoption application! She is currently being fostered in Dixon, CA

Story
Meet Studley — the name says it all! 😎 This 5-year-old, 45lb hunk of bulldog charm is all about good vibes, comfy couches, and living life at his own pace. With his stunning rust-colored coat and serious model face, Studley turns heads wherever he goes — and he knows it. He’s a professional couch potato who enjoys the occasional stuffed toy snack (purely for fun, of course). Crates? Not his jam. He’s a certified escape artist, but don’t worry — when he breaks free, he’s not out to destroy your house… just to remind you he’s smarter than the average dog 😏 Studley’s still working on his house-training skills and loves sprinting around like he’s in a tiny-legged marathon. He’s got the zoomies, the charm, and the heart of gold to match. He does prefer to be your one and only — no other pets needed when you’ve got this much love in one dog! 💖 📍 Currently in San Jose, CA 🏡 Studley is looking for a foster or adopter who can give him a comfy couch, some love, and a chance to shine. Ready to meet your snuggly, goofy, rust-colored dreamboat? Studley’s waiting to sweep you off your feet!

Story
English Bulldog Age: 5-6 yrs old Female, Spayed 38 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Courtney was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. She had an abscess on her paw that needed medical attention. Upon evaluation by our vet, it was observed that she also has dry eye syndrome, ectropion eyelids that turn in, but her corneas were in pretty good shape. There were also sutures still in place on her lower abdominal area. The incision was too small for a recent C-section and there were no other signs that she had been recently pregnant (although she has likely had puppies in the past). It could have been from a recent spay, but lab testing indicated that she was still intact. It is a mystery as to why the incision w/ sutures was there. Our vet spayed her and fixed her eyelids. She is on ointment and eye drops for the chronic dry eyes, but it is possible that this will correct itself over time. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. Courtney had some domination issues with the volunteers when she first came to us. After some consistent and stringent correction, that behavior considerably lessened, but she will need to be monitored when meeting strangers. Otherwise, she is very sweet and loves attention. We pulled Courtney at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a male named Otis, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Courtney and Otis need to be adopted together. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Courtney, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Alexa’s Rescue Story Alexa was rescued from a poorly run private shelter. The shelter has over 2,000 dogs living in cramped and wet environment. She was stuck in the shelter for 2 years. No one was interested in adopting her. A kind international rescue organization got a rescue message asking to help some of the dogs in the shelter that are running out of time. Story
English Bulldog Age: 2 yrs old Male, Neutered 33 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Otis was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. He was pretty healthy, but had a condition called “cherry eye” in both eyes. Our vet attempted to fix both eyes - the success rate for this repair is about 50/50. One eye is healing nicely, the other may not be so lucky, time will tell. Cherry eye is mostly a cosmetic issue, and doesn’t affect their ability to see. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. The only other observable condition, so far, is a flea allergy. Otis had a lot of energy, a lot of humping and marking before he was neutered. Within a week following surgery, there was a big difference in his behavior. He is young and still energetic at times, but he is also very sweet and loves to cuddle. We pulled Otis at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a female named Courtney, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Courtney and Otis need to be adopted together. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Otis, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
This love bug is named Daisy Mae! She is a 41-pound mixed breed, but based on her flattened face and pointy ears, we think she has a good bit of Frenchie or some other kind of Bulldog in her. There's no way to know the whole mix though - this sweet mama came to us after her previous owners moved out and left her and her four puppies behind. Despite her past, Daisy Mae is full of love and ready to find her forever home. She's proven to be a wonderful mother and has a gentle and loving nature. Her unique markings and adorable face will melt your heart! This medium-sized girl is looking for a home where she'll be cherished and given all the love and care she deserves. $350.00 adoption fee helps with her spay, microchip, and vaccines. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
