Story
Meet our lovely Gianna. She is a one-year-old, 20-pound, tan, French bulldog. When she was surrendered to AFC, she was in rough shape! She was bruised from head to toe from an apparent beating. She had awful skin and missing hair. She has experienced both abuse and neglect. However, she didn't allow that to change her loving heart. She has absolutely blossomed in her foster home. She is a sweetheart and loves people of all ages. She is fine with most other dogs. She would also be happy to be your one and only love. NO CATS as she will chase them. She is happy and playful and loves her toys. Gianna will chase a ball if you throw it but she won’t bring it back! Can you teach her to fetch? *(A short walk or outdoor play session with their owner each day should provide enough exercise to keep the French Bulldog in shape. Frenchies enjoy participating in canine sports such as obedience, agility, and rally. As a flat-faced breed, however, they are prone to breathing difficulties and should never be allowed to exert themselves in hot or humid weather)*. Gianna is on grain free salmon and sweet potato dog food and she is doing well on it. She also eats out of a Slow Feed Puzzle Bowl. Her skin and coat are now healthy. She is housetrained to a dog door. She is crate trained but absolutely LOVES to sleep in your bed! Warning though, she is a bed hog, lol. She will need leash training. She rides well in the car. She would be a wonderful addition to almost any home. Breed experience REQUIRED. She has been spayed, microchipped and currently vaccinated. Story
Hi! My name is Loki! I’m a darling brown brindle French Bulldog, approximately 1 yr of age and 26 lbs. My foster Mom says I’m a bundle of fun! I love all people and every dog I meet, so it’s pretty hard not to love me! I get so excited that my usual greeting is some pretty impressive jumping (my foster Mom says it’s not good for me to do that so I’m learning to control myself, but it’s hard)! I’m a happy, friendly, active boy and I keep busy just being busy. Whether exploring the yard/house, playing with toys, or my favorite thing which is playing with my doggie friends, you will find me doing something all the time. I’m always ready to go with you and down for doing anything fun. I’m crate trained and sleep quietly through the night (after some good bone chewing). I’m still working on my house training. I’m getting the hang of it as long as you take me out frequently to go, but I will need continued training. I’m good on leash (although I need reminders not to pull) and I love going on my daily walks. I’m such a ‘people dog’ and really just love being with my humans… belly rubs are a major plus!! My favorite thing is playing with other doggie friends. I’m good with dogs of all sizes as long as they can handle my exuberance and play style. My ideal home will have another young dog to match my energy and play. I have no experience with kids and due to my exuberance and mouthy play my new home should not have children under 7 yrs of age. Although I’m a very healthy boy (per my veterinarian) my breed comes with certain predisposed medical issues so my new family should be well aware of these issues and the costs involved with owning my breed. My adoption fee is reflective of the high costs of neutering this breed…adoption fees include health examination, current basic vaccinations, neuter, microchip, flea and deworming treatment along with any other medical/dental deemed necessary by our veterinarian.

Story
Little Louie is an adorable Frenchie. He is my parents pride and joy. My mom passed in Oct, we’ve since had to relocate my dad to senior living in Walnut Creek. My 86 year old father can no longer care for Louie, we are unable to take him due to our schedules. Louie is social, loyal, beyond friendly. He has lived with 3 cats at one time. Louie minds the cats and does what he is told. Louie needs to find a terrific home for his 3rd act. Louie could make the right family very happy. He has adorable ears.

Story
*FEE NEGOTIABLE* Jughead is a 5yo LOVER and wants to be with his people. All he wants is to be nearby to the point of touching or almost touching you, to eat food, and to get good pets in. He is anxious when separated & has been that way since we got him at 6mos old from a breeder (can be worked on through positive reinforcement), he is now reactive toward other dogs because he was attacked unprovoked by two different bull males in 2020 (can also be worked with through positive reinforcement), and he has typical Frenchie reflux. Temperament toward humans and cats: a total DOLL. He is LOW ENERGY, great with gentle kids and deserves just that, he is not fit for a home with rambunctious kids due to his breed’s spine sensitivities. Ideal owner: a WFH/SAH owner who would enjoy training him through separation anxiety as needed; will get pet insurance to cover unforeseen breed specific issues; regularly groom nails/hair/face folds & buy special food that keeps yeast low.

Ella is a very outgoing girl even with her blindness.  Her blindness does not stop her she loves to play, lots of love to give.  She is house trained and will walk on a leash.  She is good with other dogs and kids.  Ella also has to have allergy shot once a mouth. She will have to have this, so she does not have a chance to get a skin infection.  The best home for her is someone that is very up on her breed.  If you would like to meet her, please email us at pawsforjuliarescue@gmail.com for an application. Her adoption fee includes her Bring spayed, microchipped, rabies, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and flea and tick treatment. ##1802945##

Story
Potter is a special needs pup with hydrocephalus; he needs a family that will keep his head safe and be ok with his developmental delays. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? My name is Potter, Hydrocephalus Superhero. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a little boy. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born around January 28, 2023. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a French Bulldog. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 18lbs WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a cute, little guy! I’m white and brindle piebald, whatever piebald means. I have a little arrow marking on my forehead and white frosting on my ears. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like moist kibble and dog-friendly treats. I’m not too sure about the carrots or apples that my foster mom offers me, but if you gave me some chicken or other tasty dog-friendly food from your plate, I would probably gobble it up! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Well, I’m not sure if you know, but I’m kind of a big deal! And all the things that make me different are the same things that make me special. I’m sweet and spunky and living in the moment is my style. I am playful and love to wrestle and chew on my foster brother Tater. I’ve been told I can be kinda demanding; sometimes, I fuss and bark to let you know I want attention, food, or need to go potty. Sometimes, I howl when I’m in my carrier or crate because I want out! But I settle down easily. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with a “good morning, Potter” and scratchies from my foster mom. Then I do a big stretch, go potty, and get ready for breakfast. Sometimes, I go back to sleep for a bit afterward. Once I’m up, I’m ready to play, explore, and find something to chew on like my Benebone. I eat lunch and nap. I spend time chilling, playing tug-o-war, maybe have another nap, and more exploring. I take my medication at 7:00 p.m. sharp and start my bedtime routine of chewing a yak stick, and then snuggle and sleep. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything to tug-o-war and my yak stick. If you let me, I will nibble your fingers and toes. Sometimes I wrestle the dog bed and drag it as far as I can! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? No, but I know my name and I come when being called. I’m not sure about learning more. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sometimes loud noises and sudden overhead movement can be scary. I’m little, so people standing over me make me cower or try to get away. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yes, but because I can’t play rough and need to be safe guarded, it’s best if I am around older kids that understand. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I don’t think I’ve met a cat, so I am not sure. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I LOVE other dogs. They are fun, but being around gentle dogs that are not too big, who won’t knock me over, or squish me, is safer. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Hanging out with my person or forever family doing whatever they’re doing. I’m easy going. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I was born with Hydrocephalus. I have no idea what that is, but like I said, I’m a superhero and I’m gonna live every day to the fullest. Hydro makes me wobble around, unsteady on my feet, and fall over, but it doesn’t slow me down or stop me from having fun! Humans must be careful with me and ensure my head is protected as much as possible. Other than that, I’m great! Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my foster brother. I love them both! I really like my foster brother because he lets me chew on him. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I stay in my very own X-pen with toys and a fluffy bed to lounge on, access to my food and water, and plenty of room to potty if I need to. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on my comfy bed in my very own penned area – you know, superhero style. Sometimes, I fall asleep with my foster mom and magically wake up in my bed. I think it must be one of my superpowers. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? The most important thing for me with walks is that I won’t be going on any walks on the hard pavement. I’ll probably be more of a explore and stumble around on the soft grass kind of guy…. In case I fall over. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Um, I like to bark demands and do mischievous stuff, like tear up my potty pads when bored… I don’t think that is so bad. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) No, I go potty on potty pads and sometimes I just go wherever I happen to be. I might be able to be potty-trained, but you’ll have to be very patient with me. DO YOU LIKE WATER? Only to drink and for bathing. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that they protect me, are patient and kind, play with me, and love me. I’m living the dream. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was born different, so some nice ladies rescued me and brought me from far away to NorCal. Now, I live in a wonderful foster home and my future is wide open… Did I mention I am kind of a big deal? If you’d like to have a superhero in your life, I am SO ready to love you forever! **Potter's adoption fee is $1,000.00** If you are interested in adopting Potter, please jump on our website and read why about the adoption fees for special breeds BEFORE filling out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
Meet the handsome Joey. He is a 1.5-year-old, 19 pound, Pug mix?? He has a reddish-brown, smooth coat, that should be easy care. He has dark brown eyes that will melt your heart. Joey, Juliete, Jazzy and Josie were found fending for themselves in the river area of Stockton. Joey would love to have a human companion at home with him. He is shy and will need a little patience to get used to a new living situation. He gets along well with other dogs, especially females. He would be a welcome addition to an adult home or a family with children 12 and over. He will need some leash training and some house training. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command "go potty" before we take the dogs outside to do their business. This is excellent routine to establish at home. Joey is happy to go outside especially if you go with him. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Are you ready for a new love? Joey is waiting for you!
