Crumpet is a 3 year old male French Bulldog who weighs 27 pounds and came to us from the shelter. As Frenchies go, Crumpet is heavy on the doofus quotient. His head is full of love, static, and maybe one single thought that occasionally floats by and immediately drifts away. He is built like a loaf of bread with legs, moves with confidence that is not supported by coordination, and approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who is absolutely certain everything is his friend. Crumpet is endlessly jovial, wildly affectionate, and genuinely funny without trying to be. He is a Velcro dog in the purest sense, following his person from room to room like a very stout, very determined shadow. He loves people, loves dogs, loves attention, and loves greeting anyone and everyone, even if it means straining dramatically at the leash to say hello. He is playful, energetic, and has never met a situation he did not believe could be improved by his presence. His emotional range is wide but simple: happy, happier, and thrilled. Crumpet’s daily routine starts around 8:00 a.m. with waking up and immediately preparing himself for a morning walk. Walks are… an experience. Crumpet pulls on leash and prefers to choose his own path, speed, and direction, often all at once. Breakfast happens after the walk or sometimes at his own leisurely pace. During the day, he sticks close to his person, always nearby, always available for pets, always ready to participate in whatever is happening. At night, he sleeps in a crate, which he does not love in theory but accepts in practice. Within minutes of entering his crate, he begins snoring loudly, as if to prove that he is, in fact, deeply unbothered. From the moment he arrived, Crumpet was friendly and outgoing, and that has not changed. If anything, his personality has only become more confident and expressive. He is loving, social, and easy to have around. He appears to be friendly with other dogs and gets visibly restless if he misses an opportunity to greet one. While he has not been observed around children yet, his playful, affectionate nature suggests he would likely enjoy their company. Crumpet is playful and energetic and would happily engage in play whenever the opportunity presents itself. He is fully house trained and can stay comfortably in a crate when left alone, despite his mild objections to the concept. He does not chew when bored, does not dig, and is not a frequent barker. His main “naughty” habit is pulling on leash, which feels less like misbehavior and more like his sincere belief that the world should move faster toward him. The ideal home for Crumpet is, honestly, any loving home. He is adaptable, resilient, and happy to fit into just about any environment as long as it includes people, affection, and a decent number of pets per day. And if you are wondering what truly sets him apart, here it is: even people who claim they are “not Frenchie people” fall in love with Crumpet. He is that dog. The one who changes minds. The one who makes you laugh without meaning to. The one who finishes his meal and immediately sprints over for pets like he has just accomplished something monumental. When you sit down, he brushes against your legs repeatedly until you comply with rubbing him, because clearly that was the plan all along. Crumpet may not have a lot going on upstairs, but what he does have is heart, humor, and an unlimited capacity for love. If you are looking for a dog who will make you laugh every single day and happily follow you anywhere, Crumpet is ready to blergh his way straight into your life. January 31, 2026, 10:25 pm
