Story
Meet Berri — a tender-hearted sweetheart with a shy hello and a big personality waiting just beneath the surface. She may take a moment to read the room in a new place or with new people, but give her a little patience and you’ll quickly see the real Berri emerge… and trust us, she’s worth the wait. Once she’s settled, Berri is pure joy. She’s delightfully goofy, playful, and full of charm. Duck-footed, wiggle-butted, underbite bliss? That’s Berri. She adores other dogs, lives for zoomies, and has a knack for sneaking off with a shoe like it’s her most important mission. Life’s little celebrations are her specialty—especially if a pup cup is involved. And when she has something to say? You’ll hear it in her signature “Berri sounds,” an endearing turkey-gobble-esque commentary that’s guaranteed to make you laugh. Add in her best-in-class ears—always swiveling, always broadcasting exactly how she feels—and you’ve got a girl who wears her heart (and her emotions) right on her face. Berri is a world-class snuggler who loves being held and is happiest curled up beside her people or a canine friend. She fully supports head rubs, paw massages, and any role you’d like to take on as her personal massage therapist. She’s crate trained, potty trained, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys getting out to explore. She also rides well in the car (especially with a little boost). In busier, more urban environments, she may show a bit of initial shyness—but with consistency and reassurance, her confidence continues to grow. Berri is currently fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join her forever family. Berri is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. Learn more at www.mostlymuttz.org #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme #sillygirl #sostinkincute #underbitequeen #adoptdontshop Once you’re an approved adopter, your approval applies to any dog in our rescue that’s a good match for you. Story
hi Lillian, Lillian is approximately 6 years old and weight 47 pounds. She was no longer a profitable breeder momma at the puppy mill and was surrendered. She is a gorgeous bulldog with a personality as big as her adorable wrinkles. She’s sweet, loyal, and full of love—but let’s be real, she’s also a little stubborn (okay, a lot stubborn). Lillian knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to stick to her bulldog ways. She's the boss on a leash and needs a loving teacher who will show her the way. Lillian will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. She would need to meet any resident dogs. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $500. Goblin is a compact little beefcake who lives life to the fullest. After making few questionable life choices earlier in life, Goblin is ready to settle down and find his forever home- ideally one where he can be your one-and-only spoiled potato. He’s crate trained, knows “sit,” and loves snacks more than oxygen. He prefers to be the only pet because he is absolutely the main character. No dogs, no cats, no small kids- just you, Goblin, and an endless supply of treats. Adopt this snorty, snack-powered king before he becomes internet famous and starts demanding appearance fees. Story
Meet Otis, the most adorable French bulldog and Miniature Pinscher mixed pup! Otis is 1 year and 8 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a forever home. His special superpower is his ability to always have his lips stuck on his teefs. Otis was surrendered to us because his humans did not have time for him. We were told that he consistently had accidents in the house and that he was alone most of the day. We could tell that he lacked obedience and did not know boundaries upon intake. His humans did love him, but they did not provide him with a routine or any mental and physical stimulation. He is now doing well with a consistent routine and learning to be a well-behaved pup. His foster mom reports that Otis has not had any accidents in the house since he came. He is a medium sized dog, but he thinks that he is a tiny pup and insists on always getting in your lap. Otis is the epitome of a Velcro dog! He is very affectionate and would love to be with you all the time. Personal boundaries do not exist in his vocab. His favorite thing in the whole world must be chest and belly rubs because he can never get enough of it. Otis will sometimes throw tantrums when he is denied attention but can easily be distracted when you throw a toy for him to chase after. Speaking of toys, Otis LOVES chewing on all the toys. Durable chew toys are a must for this boy. He can be very energetic when playing tug or zooming around the house and yard--and because of this, we think the best environment for Otis is a home without young children. And although he will happily cuddle and snooze on the couch, Otis needs daily walks so that he can exercise his body as well as his brain. Otis is used to doing whatever he wants and will try and push his boundaries to see what he can get away with. However, he is a quick learner with high value food rewards. We are making strides with crate training and leash walking. Otis needs a home with a human that he can trust and depend on. His perfect human will understand that he has been neglected and will continue to help him heal by providing him with lots of love, a consistent routine, and be persistent with his obedience training. Story
Phoebe has discovered the good life, and there's no going back! Phoebe is a 3 year old fawn French Bulldog who came to us from a commercial breeder. Phoebe is a lovebug who enjoys cuddles, playing with her toys, and her fur siblings. She is fine with other dogs of all ages and sizes, as well as cats. She has perfected her "Princess and the Pea" imitation as she moves from one comfy orthopedic bed to another, assessing and evaluating each bed's attributes. She's not fussy, but she has created her own rating system for each bed - the louder the snore, the higher her rating! At 37 pounds, she's on the large side for a Frenchie; she's solid but definitely not overweight. (If Phoebe were a vehicle, she'd be a RAM truck, not a Camry). Excess weight is not good for Phoebe because she has been diagnosed with significant hip dysplasia. She currently has no mobility issues, and takes a joint supplement to help keep her joints as flexible as possible. She had one joint flare-up while in foster care that responded well to meds and rest. Adopters should be prepared for the fact that her hip and joint issues are likely to worsen with age. Gentle exercise, an orthopedic dog bed, weight management, and joint supplements will be key to keeping her comfortable and to avoid - or at least delay - any long term effects as long as possible. Pain management and/or surgery at some point are also possibilities. Photos of Phoebe show her quirky asymmetrical ears, which only adds to her cuteness. We believe her floppy ear is due to excessive ear infections left untreated in her previous life. Her skin and ears are doing fine on a lamb-based food (readily available in pet stores, not a prescription). Phoebe is house trained, although regression can occur with a change in environment. She isn’t a big fan of being crated during the day, but willingly crates next to her buddy at night (a couple of treats help - she's an easy sell when food is involved!) and she sleeps through the night with no issue. She does not love the leash, so a fenced in yard would be ideal for this sweet girl. She is spayed, micro chipped, and UTD on all vaccines and preventatives. Interested in adopting?
